Zva Creative December DT Blog Hop!

Happy New Year to you! ZvaCreative and our talented NEW 2013 Design Team welcome you to our December blog hop where we officially welcome our new team members to our monthly hops! Graphic 45 & Scrapbook Adhesives Blog Hop

Love Letters Mini

Hi everyone! Can't believe Bo Bunny has their designer spotlight on me today! Well, I've created a special project for a special friend - please take a peek! You can click on the photos for more details.

This mini album was made for a sweet friend and contains the most adorable photos of her grand daughter, Lexi, who has just turned 1! There were another 2 pages that I designed for this mini but I ended up posting the album before taking photos as I wanted to ensure that this lovely lady would receive before Christmas.

Christmas Schtuff... And A Giveaway!

Hi again! Just wanted to share a few projects that I made using the classic and festive Rejoice collection from Bo Bunny!

So... has everyone finished their shopping yet? Finished all mine up today! SO happy that I can just sit back now and craft, bake and relax (kind of) until the big day! PHEW!

Graphic 45 & Mod Podge Tutorial

Sometimes you can find the coolest things at dollar stores and thrift stores. I'm always on the look out for things to transform - like this plain apron for example.

Seems like your average, canvas apron right? Well... the things you can do with a little Mod Podge and some awesome papers from Graphic 45. Let me show you a fun and easy tutorial to customize an inexpensive apron and turn it into something beautiful!

First, I cut out several images from the Cut-Apart pages found in the Place in Time 12x12 Paper Pad and arranged them in a type of quilt-like pattern on the apron. Once I was satisfied with the arrangement I began to prepare my images.

Coat each image very generously with Mod Podge. The side which you wish to appear on your project, is the side that you should be coating with Mod Podge.

Transfer image, face down, onto your work surface and smooth out, ensuring to wipe off any excess product. Continue these steps until all your images have been placed on your project and let dry overnight.

With a spritz bottle, soak your images with water - REALLY soak them. Using a circular motion, rub off the top layer of paper with your fingers. Your image should appear.

 

Once complete, you can leave as is, but I found my images quite faded looking so I decided to finish with an extra coating of Mod Podge which helped to bring out the bolder colours again. NOTE: I do not recommend this step for fabric.  I discovered that it makes the material quite 'crunchy'...LOL!  Would look fantastic on a hard surface however.

I have designed for Graphic 45 for two years now and have had the pleasure of working with the entire Filimoehala family - especially their DT Coordinator and youngest daughter Charee.  Well, as Charee is due ANY second with her first born, the entire Graphic 45 design team thought it would be a neat idea to surprise her with a custom designed baby album.

 

Here is the page I created for her.  I included a photo of the new parents to be on the front and on the back of the page there is an envelope where Charee can add her favourite photos, keepsakes, etc.

This Christmas

I was contacted a few months ago from a sweet and uber talented friend, Nadia Cannizzo, who asked me if I would like to guest for her fantastic Sketch site. Well of course! I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Sketch site - Once Upon a Sketch but if you aren't, you must have a peek. Nadia's sketches are simply beautiful and the perfect fix if you are in a scrappy rut!

The guidelines for this month's challenge is to create a layout based on the sketch above and to use the theme: It's December.
