Smells of Sweet

Here is my dd in my parents' backyard a few weeks back. What gorgeous flowers eh - taller than she is!? This was such a sweet moment - little girl, water squirters in hand, stopping to smell the flowers.

The butterflies are from K & Co and the berries were purchased at Michaels - they came in a big vine and I simply break little bits off as needed.

I used some of Petaloo's Mulberry Street roses for this layout. I love the deep reds in these blooms! Of course there are my doilies - snatched these up from the thrift store.

Felt ribbon - a new thing for me as I'm not much of a ribbon person but sometimes a little touch of girly (aside from flowers) just completes the look.

Thanks for popping by today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Its BC day on Monday so dh has 3 days off - yippie!

CHA Pics

As much as I wish I had taken these photos, with my own camera, they are not mine (man do I wish I could be there though). Found these on the web - NEW Petaloo and ZVA Creative - coming your way!!

(ahem...notice the top layout at the ZVA booth *grins*)

I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THESE!!!!!

AND THESE!!!!!!

Heck, love it all!!!

Its a Wrap!

Here are the last of my layouts with the August Kit from Scrap That!

For my birthday, my dh had the kids bake me a cake (with his help of course). They all took turns stirring the mix and of course, licking the bowl and spoons and batter wands. It truely is the best part non?

Some fabulous flowers from The Girls Paperie as well as a mix of perfectly vintage buttons which I jazzed up a little with some of the bling - everything is from the August Kit.

Totally loved this mesh-like ribbon. It was such a unique texture and I loved the delicate touch it gave the layout.

This was the first layout I made with the kit and probably my fave. Love the colour combo and the simple photos of my dd. The ribbon is just divine (think I've mentioned... sorry, can't help it - I'm totally NOT a ribbon person and these were awesome!) and the tulle flowers complimented the softness wonderfully.

Loved the sheet of cards included in this kit - Perfect for tags, atcs, embellishments, etc. So unique!

There is also a bottle of liquid pearls with the kit - loved these for those little extra touches here and there and for outlining photos, etc.

That's all for now - the boys have their last swim classes this week and will hopefully move on to the next level - so proud of the little guys (at the start, they wouldn't even put their faces in the water - now they're totally dunking themselves !) Hope to have a nice flowery project to show you all be week's end. Night!

A Few More Scrap That! Layouts to Share

Well of course I didn't just make 1 layout with that gorgeous kit from Scrap That! (try 5!) I had quite a few embellies left over as well - this kit is wonderfully full of all the good stuff and you can easily create several layouts and even a mini album with the contents.

Here is my dd watching my eldest ds at his T-Ball Game. She wanted SO badly to join in but patiently waited on the sidelines and cheered for him every time he came up to bat.

These papers were so awesome - I fussy cut out the flowers on 1 sheet and used for 3 (maybe even 4) of the layouts I created - so fantastic!

Some sweet blooms from Petaloo... love, love them (yes, I'm slightly biast)

LOVE this photo of my dd. She absolutely adores her swing and would stay on it all day if she could. I honestly pushed her for over an hour one afternoon while her brothers slept. CRAZY!

Some close ups of the beautiful ribbon included in this kit - so many gorgeous pieces which coordinate perfectly with the papers and Petaloo blooms.

Ah yes, that gorgeous butterfly cannot be missed - isn't it amazing!? There's 2 in the kit and I adore them - their wings are so delicate and the hint of sparkle is the perfect touch.

Ok, so 2 for tonight and the last 2 for tomorrow okay? I am so curious as to what is going on right now at CHA! Oh how I wish to see it all in real life! I'm thinking CHA Winter 2011...seriously!

Scrap That! August Kit Reveal

Today is the day! The August kit from Scrap That! is ready to go and its filled full of gorgeous papers from The Girls' Paperie - not to mention tons of amazing ribbon, flowers, pearls, fabric, buttons, pins, tulle, liquid pearls, etc. AMAZING!

Here is my mom and dd in the backyard. Love these photos - so very obvious of how much they love eachother - a true grammy bond - my kids' 'other mother'!

Beautiful vintage, lacy blooms and pearl flourishes! The kit also comes with a sheet of tags/cards to cut out which match perfectly with the papers this month. I loved using these - added just the perfect touch to my layouts and so unique.

This is the tulle included in the kit. A baby-soft pink originally. I found it too hard to see so I painted it and when it dried, a few of the holes remained covered with the paint - totally loved the effect!

Ok, so the doily was from my stash but what would one of my layouts be without one right? Originally white and I painted pink and added some crackle paint.

Loved working with this kit - so feminine and romantic. (My ratio of layouts for my dd and ds are totally out of wack now!)

Will be back tomorrow with some more layouts to share!

PS - found 5 more four leaf clovers today - up to 12 now!! (tried to preserve them by applying to a sheet of cardstock and glossy accenting??? we'll see what happens...)

Last of ZVA CHA Releases

Hi all! I'll leave you tonight with the last of my CHA creations from ZVA Creative.

I was on a walk with my dd and mom and came across this field and totally fell in love. The muted colours of the dried grass were the perfect backdrop to showcase the random flowers throughout. Of course, no camera so I came back with the family that weekend and took tons of photos.

The colours of the new blooms hilighted the yellows in the photo wonderfully. The new leaf bling is so gorgeous!! I cut this one in half and used on both of my flower clusters - I adore the soft chocolate and how it ties in so well with the earthy colours.

I decided to play up on the warmth of the layout and added some old K & Co papers from my stash - so glad to have all these random papers on hand for just this kind of occasion!

Stay tuned tomorrow for the full reveal of the August Kit from Scrap That!

Lucky Me!

I've heard that if you are lucky enough to find a 4 leaf clover, it'll bring you good luck. What if you are lucky enough to find seven 4 leaf clovers... in like, 10 minutes!?!

SWEAR

I was 'weeding' (some people like to call it gardening - whatever...) our backyard and found the first. I was like - whoo, hoo - how cool is that?! Took pics, etc. Went back out, continued weeding and a few minutes later - another... whoo, hoo, pics, etc. This went on until I found the 7th! What the ???

Two things I conclude from this:
We are clearly in need of some weeding and feeding (I had a pretty good selection of clovers).
Best get myself a lotto ticket (or 2!) - like, now!!

CRAZY!

(NOTE: Some of the clover leafs look kinda weird b/c they haven't quite opened up yet - baby ones I guess - whatever, they still totally count!!)

More CHA From ZVA!

I'm not a purple person - at all. In fact, I had to go out to buy some purple paper to go with these blooms and bling. The paper I bought is still sitting in my stash - lol! I decided to keep this layout simple and let the bling do the talking!

Again, there is the gorgeous combination of pearl and crystal flourishes from ZVA Creative's CHA releases which compliment their new blossom colours perfectly.

The green leafy flourishes were cut out of an old children's story book which I picked up from my local thrift store. Love using the text pages as well - super nice for layering or adding that vintage feel to your projects.

Of course I had to add my token doily (or 3...) and this little metal charm from my stash. What can I say - bling and blooms are my thing - loving the latest releases and I'm sure you will too!! Stay tuned for tomorrow's creation - more CHA from ZVA coming your way!! Thanks for popping by!

ZVA Creative CHA Releases!

ZVA Creative has come out with some amazing new products - you will not be disappointed in their CHA Releases!

Oh yes, they are so yummy - tons of different colours of bling - tons of different styles of bling - intricate leaves, pearl and crystal mixes - you have to see for yourselves...

I actually cut this leafy bling piece in half as I felt it was quite large for the blooms. Also a great way to stretch your crystal and pearl flourishes!

ZVA Creative has introduced larger rose blossoms with more vivid colours into their mix - they compliment the new bling wonderfully!

This crystal butterfly was actually part of one of the crystal flourishes but I trimmed this part off and used as a stand alone embellie.

All I can say is - wow! Stay tuned tomorrow - will be posting another CHA creation from ZVA!
