Hang in There!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (if you celebrated it) and are looking forward to the new year ahead. I am hoping for continued happiness and health above all things for 2010! We have had a bit of a rough start here since the beginning of Kindergarten in September and I'm hoping all the horrible sickness can be behind us moving forward.

I feel soooo guilty not posting any projects for you all to see as I have so many I have completed in the last little bit. Unfortunately, you will have to wait until January 1st to see anything from me!

I have to admit I am completely addicted to paper roses!! I came across the tutorial at this website and after playing around a few times, finally got it just right!

I don't have a 6 petal flower punch as they say you need, so I simply hand drew my flowers and didn't make any difference whatsoever.

MAN they are awesome and perfect to use if you don't have any flowers to match your patterned papers. I have done a few projects using this tutorial and cannot wait to share them with you!

Graphic 45 Charms

Hey everyone - hope you all had a wonderful day and spent some quality time with family and loved ones. I am SO full of turkey dinner - if I never see another gingerbread cookie again it won't be too soon - LOL!

I wanted to share a few projects with you that I completed a little while back using Graphic 45 papers. They are just so perfect for embellishments and cut out work.

T'was The Night Before Christmas....

Can you believe Christmas eve is finally here?! My little ones are so excited - so fun. I plan to head out for a nice walk with the family as the sun is shining brightly here, bake cookies for Santa tonight, and just enjoy time with my little family. Spent 2 hrs last night with dh wrapping presents - phew!

I've also been working hard on some projects for My Creative Scrapbook as I've had the pleasure to design with them again next month! If you thought the December kits were gorgeous - wait until you see the January goodies - WOW!

No projects to post for you just yet - sorry, but they're under 'wraps' until the new year!! I'll leave you with a few festive pics to 'tide' you over! Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy year for 2010!

PS - my littlest one was a wee bit afraid of dear ol' St. Nick - hence the photo of just the boys ;>

Poem for the Day

I've been as busy as an Elf working away on several DT Duties - so many yummy things to share with you in the new year!! Only a few short weeks away - can you believe we are almost in the year 2010???

I came across this poem again tonight (my mom had given it to me many years ago) and wanted to share it with you all. It reminded me of a promise I made to myself (which I need to revisit I think!): 'Enjoy each moment of every day, because you only have one opportunity with which it can be experienced'. I often find myself rushing everywhere, stressing always and leading a life with such a negative (my husband calls it negative, I call it realistic...) outlook. I think we all need a little breather from time to time - especially when our values and perspectives are challenged. Take a read of the poem below and see what you think...

SLOW ME DOWN, LORD

Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Steady my hurried pace. Give me, amidst the day's confusion, the calmness of the everlasting hills.

Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles with the soothing music of singing streams that live in my memory.

Help me to know the magical, restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking "minute vacations"...slowing down to look at a flower, to chat with a friend, to read a few lines from a good book.

Remind me of the fable of the hare and the tortoise; that the race is not always to the swift; that there is more to life than measuring its speed.

Let me look up at the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew slowly and well. Inspire me to send my own roots down deep into the soil of life's endearing values...that I may grow toward the stars of my greater destiny.

Slow me down, Lord.

Silly Girl

Morning!

Here's a quick little post for you this sunny Tuesday morning. I completed this layout based on the December sketch challenge over in the forum at My Creative Scrapbook.

Love these bright, bold papers from KaiserCraft! So fall (yes, I realize its winter!)

What would a layout be without some thickers eh?

Pull out journaling tag - my dd is such a silly little peanut!

Go take a peek and try it out for yourself! Always love sketches to help me out of scrapper's block!

Graphic 45 Mini Album

I'm just totally loving mini albums lately - can't get enough of them!! Once I start I get completely engaged and really doesn't take me very long to complete an entire project once I have my photos and ideas in place.

Here is a mini album I created using the wonderful papers from Graphic 45's Christmas Past Collection.

If you've never tried a mini before, you can pick up some inexpensive chipboard albums, like the one I used, from Michaels, and simply trace your patterned paper and get started. Think of them like really tiny layouts?!

Another Christmas Mini

Here is one of the holiday mini albums I wanted to share with you that I completed using the beautiful Christmas Past collection of papers from Graphic 45

Reveal Day Part 2!!

Hi again!! Lets get right to the good stuff! Here are the layouts and projects I created with My Creative Scrapbook's Album kit! First up.... my mini!

Mini album Front cover. I cut out some of the Webster's pages from the kit and used as an oversized embellie for the front cover of my album.

A little tree just her size!

Some of the beautiful chipboard stickers which are included in the kit.

Look at those gorgeous brads!!

Back of the mini album.

Detailing using some fussy cutting and 3D Fabric paint.

A discounted sign I picked up from Michaels. "Before"

Inexpensive wooden reindeer - again from Michaels.

Add a little paper, some love and yummy goodness!!

Love those jingle bells from the kit!

Thickers!! LOVE 'EM! Added a little doodling just for the fun of it!

My first layout from the Album Kit. I added my own Bazzill Cardstock, but everything else is from the kit! Webster's pages, lace, ribbon, brads to die for, transparencies - you name it!

There are 2 sets of alphas in the Album kit - colour coordinated of course!

Second layout from this kit - how different eh? I decided to fussy cut all the gorgeous flourishes from a sheet of the patterned paper and create a layout centered around the beautiful flowers.

Layout number 3... A clean and simple project to hilight the beautiful papers and focus on the simplicity in the photo.

Don't forget to check the DT Gallery for the rest of the beautiful projects and layouts created by the wonderfully talented Design Team!

Thank you so much Pam for this amazing opportunity! I'll be joining the team again next month and working with their January kits! Stay tuned!!
