Happy Anniversary

We had such a fun anniversary this year! It wasn't because of anything in particular, we simply did things that we enjoy doing together. The day of our actual anniversary Jordan picked me up from work and we pulled into an empty random parking lot. He couldn't wait to give me my gifts :) He parked the car and had me close my eyes while he got the gifts from the trunk. I was so excited when I saw what they were.

 An agility ladder

A leather jump rope

It's really funny because these are not the typical anniversary gifts one might think of getting, but I have been wanted an agility ladder for years and the leather jump rope was because Jordan knew my jump rope that I use I got in 5th grade. The best part of both of these gifts though was that later that evening my clients that I train really reaped the benefits. Haha!

Because we both still had to work the next day we chose to go out to dinner Friday night. I have been craving burgers for awhile and we both talked about how much we love Red Robin, but had never seen one here in Orlando. We looked up the closest one and it was 30 miles, but we didn't care. So after work on Friday we drove the 30 miles to enjoy one of our favorite restaurants.

We were in heaven and left super full :)

To finish out our fun filled anniversary, we went to the movies and saw Iron Man 3. We love the comic book movies and indulged ourselves with the refillable popcorn and drink. Definitely a rare treat.

Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum

For our second day of vacation we headed out to Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum. We spent a couple of hours looking at all of history's air crafts. Some were very impressive technologically while others I couldn't help but think "How would anybody feel safe flying this thing?"

Here we are in front of the SR-71 Blackbird aka "Jetfire" from the movie Transformers.

It was a fun filled two hours exploring and seeing these planes in person.

Cherry Blossoms

Jordan and I are officially on a much needed vacation! We flew to DC today to spend some time with Jordan's parents and pretty much just relax and get away from our daily stresses. :) Once we landed, we headed straight to see the Japanese Cherry Blossoms. Apparently today they were at their peak and boy were they gorgeous.

It was a walk of endless Cherry Blossom trees all the way to the Jefferson Memorial.

First time seeing the Jefferson Memorial.

It definitely was a beautiful start to our little vacation. We felt very fortunate to see the trees at their peak and the weather was perfect. Best of all though, we could just relax and not have a care in the world :)

Easter Fun II

I stayed up late the Saturday before Easter after Jordan had gone to bed. I wanted to make sure I could get all the candy eggs ready and hide them all around the living room. This way Jordan would be surprised when he woke up :)

Jordan woke up Sunday morning, came out of the bedroom and gave me a gigantic smile....the surprise was a success!   After church we came home, ate, then started the hunt. I had hid 32 eggs total. I made sure to hide some in really clever spots because this is a hunt after all. I hid some in the couch pillow cases, shoes, Kleenex boxes, and anywhere not easily visible.  After Jordan's first round he found 27 eggs. The next 5 eggs, however, took some extra thought. In the end he found them all and we both enjoyed some candy :)

Another fun filled Easter.

Easter Fun

This afternoon Jordan & I had some grilling time with our good friends Supi & Marisa. While planning I asked Jordan, "What would you want to grill?" He instantly replied, "Supi's chicken!" The last time we grilled with them we were blown away at just how good their chicken was. So needless to say we ate Supi's specially made chicken as well as vegetable ca-bobs.

Jordan and Supi grillin' it up :)

Marisa and I thought it would be fun to dye eggs since it's Easter. Instead of buying a kit we did a DIY search into Google and found out how easy it was to make your own dye. It's just hot water, vinegar, and food coloring. We added our own decorations by drawing with crayons and they turned out great!

Our fun filled table

I wish I would have gotten a picture of all the eggs, cause Marisa's were beautiful! But sadly I realized this once they left, so a picture of ours will just have to do.

3 pretty eggs along with Jordan's skull & crossbones tie dyed one :)

Now to prepare for our annual Easter egg hunt in our living room....Haha. More to come later!

Wild Florida

Last Saturday the excitement started as we headed to Kenansville, FL. We had reservation for an airboat tour and have been looking forward to this for months...literally! We got there a little early and were able to walk around and see all the different wildlife.

We definitively didn't expect to see animals like longhorns (not pictured), zebras, and peacocks. It was like a zoo, but in the swamp lands.

They had a pavilion right on top of a swamp with many gators inside. We were lucky enough to see this big fella (11ft long) swimming just a few feet from us.

There's the gator swimming away in the background

As we continued to wait we were able to feel this cut little guy ;) Surprisely gators are super soft. I wanted to take his skin home with me :)

When the time came for our tour, they had to cancel on us because Tropical Storm Debbie started to bring rain. We simply rescheduled for the following week and went to eat at the little shack near by that sold fried gator. Crazy I know, but we had to try it. It tasted similar to chicken, but with a slight flaky fish texture. It was good.

Luckily after days of rain due to the storm, Thursday morning brought wonderful weather and we hopped on our little boat.

We saw several rare birds including a bald eagle and it's gigantic nest. I never knew their nests were so big.

Here's  swampy lake we were on. It has about 3000 gators and boy did we get close to a few before they swam away.

Jordan sporting his earmuffs.

That's a cow out there in case you were wondering. You can't tell from the picture, but it's extremely swampy. I was surprised to see cows eating in the water. Our tour guide told us that gators have no problem gobbling up any wild life in the swamp and they have lost plenty of cows and dogs to them...yikes!

The boat doesn't just go in water. There were plenty of times where we were flying on grass alone.

This is were we saw tiny baby gators about a foot long each. There are gator nests all alone the banks. Apparently June/July is nesting season.

This is a gator nest. We were disappointed because our guide told us that there is usually a mamma gator sitting on top and hissing at the boat because it's so close.

After our hour long tour through the swamp lands, we got to finally hold the baby gator. This gator was so funny. The owner would sling it up over his shoulder like a baby and the gator's arm would hold on to him and hug back. Plus the gator was trained to wave his hand when you waved to it...incredible!

Overall we had so much fun. Those boats go really fast by the way. We want to go again but next time at night. The people there tell us that the wildlife is much more active in the evening.

Crazy Fun

The last two weeks Jordan and I have been busy having fun. Jordan started his official on the road training which means he works 4 days one week and only 3 days the next. He worked the last two weeks from 3pm to 3am and loved it. He's hoping after these next two weeks of 6am - 6pm he can go back to the other schedule. I on the other hand have been thrown way off when it comes to a sleeping schedule, but everything is very doable.

His training has been going really well and he is getting better and more experienced each day he works. We're still waiting for him to make his first arrest, but the highlight so far has been running lights and sirens going 80 down a 25mph road trying to get to an important call. It really shows just how much he loves his job when he comes home from a 12 hour shift very excited to tell me every detail. :)

For the last 2 weeks Jordan has also been going to physical therapy for his wrist (a little tendinitis). This has been the most fun for both of us because the therapist is located right by all the tourist stuff (Disney, Universal, Sea World, etc). So everyday he had off for the last 2 weeks he had a therapy appointment, but I tagged along so we can go do fun stuff afterwards since we would already be in the area.

  • We went to Sea World
  • Saw a couple of shows
  • Ate at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney
  • Explored some new malls
  • Ate lunch at the world's largest McDonald's (This place was huge and a blast. We can't wait to go back :)
  • And lastly got some ice cream at a childhood favorite place of Jordan's - Friendly's

Our weeks full of fun have only just begun!
