Some Games!

Finally! Fable 2! Review & After Thought!

Finally! I purchased my copy of Fable 2 Limited Edition from funzcentre last night straight after booking out from army!

Today and tml on leave btw! Actually i already planned this leave very much in advance in anticipation for the release of this game! and of course, spend more time with my love ones... :)

The limited edition of the game include additional in-game content, maps and items as well as 48hours XBOX live gold trial and a "making of fable 2" dvd. anyway, got my copy at $65, which is like 6 bucks cheaper than usual and about 3 bucks more than the normal version, so why not!

Have been waiting for this game for nearly 2 years! If you have played before the 1st fable, you will know roughly how this game goes... for those who don't, it's basically an opened-ended action RPG. from official sources, the main quest is about 12 hours if you rush it through, but in order to complete every thing, you need approximately 100+ hours!

Feature that blew me away!
  • In-game renaissance era environment feature all 4 seasons, day and night.
  • Your character every single act and action will alter it's reputation, alignment (evil/good, pure/corrupted) and even physical attributes (tall/short/plump/slim)
  • All properties can be purchased. From cart wagon, inn to mansion and castle. Places of residence can be rent out to tenant (you can adjust rent too!) and places of commerce (shops, inn etc) will earn you a steady profit every 5minutes in real-time! Yes! the game works even when you are not playing it! You can furnish your own house too!
  • Your very action determine your environment. If you invest and trade in small township, help them fend off bandits, the township will eventually grow and become a city! likewise, if you plunder a town and kill the residents, the city town will decay and became abandon overtime.
  • Beside mainstory and quests, that are jobs that you can pick up to earn gold. Mainly blacksmith, lumberjack, stonecutter and assassination/bounty hunting. Of course, as mentioned, rents and profit from stalls.
  • Woo a girl, get married, move into a house and start a family! You can have sex (black screen though), protected and unprotected! You can also indulge in bisexualism and homosexualism. Cheat on your wife, polygamy and wife/child abuse are very possible too!
  • 3 areas of combat specialization. Stength (melee), Skill (range), Will (magic). A few classes of weapons are available; sword, cutlass, cleaver, musket rifle, pistol, crossbow etc.
  • Emphasis on social engineering! Good relationship with the workers of the shops you own will result in them working harder for you, hence higher profit! Dance for your town folk and show off your trophy from your recent bandit hunt! Buying properties and completing quests the townfolk entrust you will result in higher renown (reputation). Kids running up to you for your autograph if you have high enough renown! Townfolk will give you gifts if they like you enough!
  • Dress to impress. Dress to imtimidate. Your dressing determine how NPC preceive you. Dress like a bandit, and people will be imtimidate. Dress like a noble and people will like you.
  • Thats so much things! I don't think i can name it all!!
After approximately 7 hours of gameplay yesterday night and this morning, I believed i achieved quite abit!
  • Got married and have a kid.
  • Got 2 houses, one in town, one in the countryside.
  • Got 3 stalls, selling meat pie, vegetables and jewellery.
  • Got 2 shops, an alchemist store and inn.
  • Got the Master Chief suit from the bonus in-game content!
Anyway, all in all, I found Fable 2 to be deeply addictive and mesmerizing. The beautiful characters and highly interactive environment and feature draw me in completely! The jobs mini games are a tad boring, and i believe more jobs can be added in future editions for a bigger array of choices. Main storyline is short (12hours), but the side quests and other secondary objective and the deep level of interactivity makes up for this weakness. In my opinion, it deserved a 9/10 and it's highly recommended for all xbox 360 owners to try this action RPG. Defintely a "game of the year" level game! Next best xbox games i ever played since COD 4!!

[Back-Dated] Singapore Flyer

Went and took the Singapore Flyer for de 1st time with pp 2 mths back. Despite me saying that I won't take the ride till the IR is up (because the sight is ruin by the construction site) ... i couldn't resist... so while we were waiting for a movie to start showing... (we had 2 hrs to burn) ... i suddenly had this crazy impulse, so i drag pp and there we were... paying a king's ransom in the process! But the view is... well... pretty worth it! but it's pretty expensive la... at S$29.50... well... if it's cheaper... say S$19.50, then maybe people will take it a few more time!

[Back-Dated] Travelling motorcyclist

Finally had some time to transfer some pic from my HP to my comp... took the following pic at bugis... he's a Belarusian who have been travelling the world on his motorbike for decades! he was interviewed on a channel 8 programme and there he was, at bugis, a week after i caught the show on tv... Indeed, it is a feat!

I think he stayed in Singapore for a few weeks (because his vehicle was impound, though later release). The mini exhibition was pretty interesting, the number of places he has been is amazing... i believed he is much richer than all of us.... experience wise!

GOT MY QUALIFIED DRIVING LICENSE

Woohoo! Finally got it after 5 months of once per week lesson! spend slightly under a thousand.. but still pretty ex anyway! Yea!! qualified to drive all passenger vehicles le, manual and auto. keke..

my instructor is pretty good! he got 3 students gg for TP within the past 1 mth timeframe, and all pass on their 1st attempt... good good! can contact me for his contact ya!

got 14 demerit points on this 1st and last attempt! 10 points for striking kerb while attempting directional change (ouch!). At this point i thought goner liao... 19 pts max, 50% gone alr!!

Then i got another 2 for not looking at side mirror while turning and another 2 for failure to form up properly at the junction. Damn! the forming up at junction part right, i can explain! it was a T-junction, and it's like on a sloping gradient. There were 2 cars infront of me, 1 completely over the stopline, the other halfway over the stop line, thus i decided to give it a tab lee way of 1 car space, incase it roll back... how i knw i would be penalize!!

But NVM! got my license is de most important!!

TP TP!!

Today is my Class 3 TP!! After nearly 6 months of learning, yes today is the day. Though i really want to pass on my 1st attempt (who don't?), i'm treating this pretty much as a practice session with a stranger beside me. Nevertheless, will be super focus, patience and alert today. Wish me luck everybody!!
