The story is focused on the main character, Ichimura Tetsunosuke, an energetic, short, and very childlike 15 year old. Sadly, he and his older brother are left to fend for themselves after the vicious murder of their parents. While Tetsunosuke wants to get revenge, his pacifist brother is not so inclined. Interestingly, the story develops when they take refuge working defined jobs in a special police force called the Shinsengumi, where his brother is an accountant and he is a servant to one of the groups leaders. While there, Tetsunosuke will attempt to get stronger in order to take the revenge he so desires, but he will be confronted by the hardships that are involved with becoming that powerful. The anime is also focused on the characters that make up the legendary Shinsengumi and the interaction and conflict they have with one another. For the history buffs, there are accurate themes that resound with Japanese history to a slight degree.

Jack is a 1996 film starring Robin Williams, Diane Lane, Brian Kerwin, Jennifer Lopez, Fran Drescher, and Bill Cosby, and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Williams plays the role of Jack Powell, a boy who ages four times faster than normal, somewhat similar to Werner syndrome.
That Thing You Do! is a 1996 film, written and directed by Tom Hanks. Set in the mid-1960s, the movie tells the story of a one-hit wonder rock band from Erie, Pennsylvania. The film shows the rise of the band to near fame on the heels of the British Invasion in the mid 1960s, from local clubs and dances, to a major national tour and a record contract. The band is originally called The Oneders (pronounced "wonders", a sort of portmanteau fusing "one" and "wonder").
The Terminal (2004) is a movie about a man trapped in the JFK International Airport Terminal when he is denied entry into the United States and at the same time cannot return to his native country due to a revolution.
Forrest Gump is an Academy Award winning 1994 film based on a novel by Winston Groom that was written in 1986, and the name of the title character of both. The film was a huge commercial success, earning USD$677 million worldwide during its theatrical run (the top grossing film in North America released that year). The film garnered a total of 13 Academy Award nominations, of which it won six, including Best Picture, Best Visual Effects, Best Director (Robert Zemeckis), and Best Actor (Tom Hanks).
The Pianist is a 2002 film directed by Roman Polanski and starring Adrien Brody. It is an adaptation of the autobiography of the same name by Jewish-Polish musician Władysław Szpilman. In addition to the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, the film won the Oscars for Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is a 2003 film directed by Peter Weir and starring Russell Crowe as Jack Aubrey, with Paul Bettany as Stephen Maturin. It is adapted from three novels in the Aubrey–Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian. Captain Jack Aubrey follows a French frigate into the Pacific Ocean in a chase that leads to a bloody climax. A subplot involves his friend Stephen Maturin's desire to explore the Galapagos to examine its fauna and flora; the hunt of Acheron repeatedly frustrates this desire in spite of Aubrey's intentions. This leads to tension between the two friends as Maturin accuses Jack (who has, it appears, far exceeded his original commission) of needlessly pursuing the Acheron in order to satisfy his own pride.
The Lord of the Rings film trilogy comprises three live action fantasy epic films; The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). For simplicity, the titles are often abbreviated to 'LotR', with 'FotR', 'TTT' and 'RotK' for each of the respective films.
Cast Away is a 2000 film by 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks about a FedEx employee who is stranded on a deserted island after his plane goes down over the South Pacific. It is unusual in modern cinema in that during most of the movie there is only one character (with the noted exception of Wilson the volleyball). Tom Hanks would go on to be nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance.Labels: Top 10 Movies
