Pirates of The Caribbean III

Just watch the movie.. despite the critics rather negetive comment.. I LOVE IT! i gonna get the vcd/dvd & the soundtrack.. one of the song.. Hoist The Colors particularly stuck a chord of mine.. really love it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfO4Ko54r6I&mode=related&search=

The king and his men stole the queen from her bed
and bound her in her bones……
The seas be ours and by the powers
Where we will, we'll roam…

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the colors high…
heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never shall we die…

Some men have died and some are alive
And others sail on the sea
With the keys to the cage and the Devil to pay
We lay to Fiddler's Green!

Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high…
heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never shall we die…

The bell has been raised from it's watery grave...
Do you hear it's sepulchral tone?
A call to all, pay heed the squall
And turn your sail toward home!

Yo ho, haul together
Raise the colors high! Heave ho
thieves and beggars, never say we die.

A very meaningful quote from Albert Einstein... All of us, especially those in the educational sector should adopt this thinking.

"Everybody is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing that it is stupid."

UNSW Asia Closed!

UNSWAsia has announced closing the door of the much hype First Full Comprehensive Foreign University in Singapore next month. Apparently, due to low enrollment rate and unrealistic goals set by the Singapore Government, UNSW has no choice but to close it's venture in Singapore, barely after a semester. It's mentioned UNSW lost approximately S$15 million, if I'm not wrong.

Fortunately i reject my offer

Singapore Global School House vision was literally kick and den got kick again in the balls. Well done, million dollar ministers.

Warwick University was smart to declined EDB's offer... smart british... Apparantly, most if not all of the local students will received scholarship to study in UNSW Kengsinton campus, might be a blessing in disguise.

Nonetheless, it's the student who suffered the most. And it's ironic that UNSW came to Singapore amid much fanfare by the Singapore Government. Now? The disaster control is done solely by UNSW. But UNSW to pull out like that suddenly.. pretty ungracious, but at least it has done what it can do to help local students, kudos to that.

Singapore, shame on you

Doraemon!

The very 1st manga i read was Doraemon! So when i saw the below article from sgforum, i feel the urge to put is in my blog!

A creation by Fujiko Fujio first appeared to the public in 1969.
This is a creation by 2 artist actually, but they break apart in 1987. One named Fujiko F. Fujio and the other name Fujiko A. Fujio. But it is under the name of Fujiko F. Fujio and his real name is Hiroshi Fujimoto. He died at the age of 62 in his work place in 1996.

He created this robot cat named under model number 1293, with the name Doraemon. Which means stray cat in japanese. He is of the size 129.3cm, 129.3kg, with the ability to jump 129.3m when threaten and run at 129.3km/h when scared. He is originated yellow in colour with ears. But his ears got bite off by a robot mouse and due to under depression, he became blue.

As for the ending of Doraemon seems to be unknown, but there is 3 series of ending for Doraemon from my research. The first ending was released in manga form. It said that one day, after Nobita came back from school, he found that Doraemon is frozen, so he called Dorami for help and it is found that Doraemon is out of battery and theres a chip in Doraemon ears that surf as a memory chip. If the the battery is change, the memory will be all lost. So after the day onwards, Nobita try study his best and work out ways to help Doraemon, at the same time he became the best AI creator.

The second ending of which is shown on the TV series of Doraemon goes like this. Nobita is actually a boy that suffer Autism, every thing in his mind is actually imaginary, nothing is real and the fact that Nobita is actually a dying kid, the imaginary of Doraemon makes him feel the ease to his suffering. After the release of this episode, a lot of doraemon fans protest for a better ending to the series.

So finally in 1998, after the author died, the final release of Doraemon is out in Anime form and the story goes like this:

One day, after Nobita got bullied by Gian, he ran to Doraemon and seek for help as usual, but this time Doraemon seems very angry and upset and refuse to help. Doraemon told him the fact that he is leaving him already, he cannot stay there anymore, so Nobita got very upset and and he search one of his box and found a toy in it that was by his grandmother. He promised to be a good boy in the future and will stand up by himself every time he fall down. So Nobita went down for the last dinner with Doraemon and with the consent of Nobita's parents, Doraemon will be leaving the next morning. During that night, both Doraemon and Nobita is unable to sleep, so they went for a walk in the park and they had a very emotional talk, Doraemon doesn't want Nobita to see him crying, so he ran away, at the same time, Gi an appear and bullied Nobita again, this time he doesn't ask Doraemon for help again, instead he wanted to prove himself that he is strong enough and doesn't want Doraemon to worried for him anymore, so at last and finally, Nobita won Gian in a duel and proved to Doraemon that he is strong enough to take care of himself. So when the day break came, Doraemon left but he left a box and told Nobita that it is his final gadget he is leaving behind for him and so Nobita can't find him anymore, he tried to act strong in everybody he sees and finally during april fools day, Gian and Suneo lied that Doraemon is back, he went back home search for Doraemon but no where to be found, so he thought of buying Doraemon favourite food, Dorayaki . So on his way back home, he saw the back view of Doraemon, so he chase after him and finally, Doraemon turned out to be Suneo and was a pranked by Gian and Suneo. So Nobita swear to revenge for himself so with his final resort, he took out the box left by Doraemon and saw a potion of lies. With that potion, whatever Nobita is to say, the result will turn out opposite, so he went to revenge on Gian and Suneo and he went back home again. As he reaches home, his mum ask him if Doraemon is back and Nobita reply his mum, no, Doraemon is not back and he will never be back. So after Nobita's reply, he went back to his room and found that Doraemon is there. With that potion and the words Nobita has said, Doraemon is back! THE END!

Make a Difference!

Have a short passage and flash movie to share with all of you today...

--------------------------------

A man was walking down the beach at sunset. As, he walked along, he saw another man in the distance. He noticed this man kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water, again and again. As, he approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. He was throwing them back into the water, one by one.

Puzzled, he approached the man and said,

"Good Evening. I was wondering what you are doing."

"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If, I don't throw them back into the ocean, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."

"But, there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possible get to all of them. And, don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"

The man bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. With a smile he replied, "Made a difference to that one !!!"

Just remember, no matter how small the deed is, it really does makes a difference.

Make a difference today.

The video is very touching! it's not the same as the passage above. do take a look!

National Service is a waste of time to say the least!

Is it?

Brought up this topic in the light of the 2 soldiers who died in Taiwan a few days back
(notice the TW govt didn't even apologize.. Geez TW! Hope China pwn them). Apparantly, the Chinese male guy is a friend of a friend.

As a rather patriotic citizen of Singapore myself, NS is extremely important i believe. But sadly, the negative aspect triumph over the positive aspect. I don't find NS for say.. a year, and no ICT commitment. Apparently not so.

NS has no benefits with exception to the physical fitness aspect. Yet you are on a $400 dollars meager allowance to slog & put your life on the line. It's hurts me so to see serviceman fall not in a war, but in training. The negative of NS is tremendous! Beside the 2 year delay in our life, Male Singaporean are facing discrimination @ work. yes in Singapore! because of the need to fulfill our ICT/Reservist commitment and we face significant downtime in work; which cause us male singaporean to lose our competitive age to Indian & China FT .. technically, i won't even call them talent. They are mere mortal, We Singaporean work attribute certainly on par or even surpass them.

Do read the below blog entry of a blogger. It disgusted me with the compensation offered to the guy who was stricken with full body paralysis after a heatstroke in training. $500 per mth in exchange for that poor guy's life time of unfulfill dreams, hopes and aspiration.
