It's for a good cause, Dave!

So, I have wanted to get my hair cut for awhile now.  At least trimmed a few inches.  Nothing too drastic.  But, you know it's time to cut your hair when it gets shut in the car door after getting into the car.  Ouch!

Enough is enough, so I went to Great Clips on Saturday with a $9.99 haircut coupon in hand.  :o)  The hair dresser asked what I wanted done and I told her I'd like my hair cut to just below the top of my shoulders.  She did some measuring and said, "You are only like an inch away from Locks of Love eligibility."  What?  I've heard of that donation program to help others out, but I'd never even really thought about being a part of it before.

I got a little nervous, however, becasue I know Dave has been pretty insitent about me not cutting my hair too short.  I told the gal I would love to donate to such a great cause as long as my hair still went down to my shoulders.  She said it would.  So I gave the go-ahead and then found out the haircut would be free.  Score!

Well, she put my hair into a ponytail and then cut the ponytail off.  Luckily, it happened quickly so there wasn't time for second thoughts.  ;o)  She put the ponytail there on the counter with the mirror in front of me but I paid no attention to it at first.  I was too concerned about watching her make sure she could keep my hair close to my shoulders.

Well, half-way through the haircut my eyes wandered down to that ponytail of hair.  My hair.  Agh!  I wanted it back!!!  But it was too late baby, way too late....  Oh well; it's for a good cause!

So, both Dave and I are having to adjust to my new 'do.  It's shorter than either one of us envisioned, but so far, I've had good feeback which I'm very thankful for.

Here's a pic.  It's the end of the day so it's flat and kinda blah, but you get the idea.  :o)

Ode to Lily

I have an amazing friend, Lily, who is one of THE BEST friends anyone could ever have.  :o)  One of the many, many things I love about Lily is that she sends me a greeting card for pretty much every holiday.  Who does that?!?  lol  So way cool!

I got a super cute Easter card from Lily in the mail yesterday.  What a fun thing to come home to after a long, hard day at work!  Thanks, Lily!!!!

Arbor Day is coming coming up.  Wouldn't be surprised to find an Arbor Day card in my mailbox in the next couple of weeks.  ;o)

Major Randomness

So, today in church marked the 2nd week in a row that the hot topics of most speakers/teachers was forgiveness.  I think it's really what I'm needing to hear right now.  Thank goodness, I have been able to let go of A LOT during the past few days and feel better about things.  I just have to make sure I'm not suppressing it or else it's just going to have to be dealt with all over again if something triggers all these emotions, etc. to resurface...

At church, I met this really cool woman just younger than me who has 3 cute little girls.  It was nice to know she moved in only about 2 months before I did, so I am not the only totally new person at church.  :o)  Also, she went to Utah State in Cache Valley during part of the time I was there!  Small world!!!

Dave and I drove to Peachtree City tonight to eat dinner with my parents and Bryan.  It was very nice to be with them.  About 2/3 into the trip back to Covington, it hit me HARD that my parents are moving in only a few short weeks.  I cried the rest of the way home.  This will be the first time I will be living away from family.  Ever!

I thought I was going to do ok, but I'm starting to struggle.  I know I have Dave, whom I love more than anyone!!!!  However, I really, really love my family and am going to so way miss them tons and tons.  I am grateful, though, for Verizon, blogs, digital cameras, and e-mail that will allow me to easily keep in touch with them.

I so way love my family!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a believer!

The Clorox Bleach Pen has changed my life!  :o)

Dave got blue pen on a white shirt at work.  He was convinced it was ruined.  I really was, too, even after reading online about differents hints and tips about how to get the stain out.  However, many people raved about the Clorox Bleach pen and how effective it was at removing the toughest stains from white clothes.  I was skeptical.

I really thought the shirt was forever ruined because I wasn't able to go buy a bleach pen for a few days after the ink got on Dave's shirt.  However, I decided, "What the heck!  I'll give it a go."  So I did!

And, to our amazement, the blue ink pen stain is no longer visible at all!  What the?!  I know!  It's a laundry miracle!  :o)  So, I am a converted firm believer in the power of the Clorox Bleach Pen!

The squeaky wheel....

...gets pushed by Darah.

How is it that both times I have gone to Wal-Mart since I moved, I get the LOUDEST cart ever?!  I listen for someone else to have a loud cart, too, but nope!  Just mine...  Agh!

Ok, so that's not THAT big of a deal, but I guess I'd just like a quiet cart next time I go.  :o)

So, I so way really miss the amazing creator of this most fabulous wedding cake:

That would be this amazingly beautiful girl:

Tamara!!!!   Or, Hermana Saxon as she is most commonly known as at the moment.  I look forward every week to reading her e-mails; they are always so fun to read and so positive and uplifting.  Even though I miss her A LOT, I know that she is where she needs to be right now, blessing the lives of people in Arizona.  I'm so grateful to have Tamara as my youngest sister.

Everyone should have a Tamara in their life!  :o)

Wow!

What a so way CRAZY the past few months have been!  Lots going on; some good, some bad.  Some smiles, some tears.  But all in all, it's over and is so way history!  I'm glad to feel like I've gotten through a lot and so it's downhill from here.  Right??

Just can't wait until more of the dust settles:  emotions cool, boxes keep emptying, relationships keep growing, work keeps flowing at a more manageable pace, etc.  You know what?  I really can't complain too much about my life.  I am so blessed!  There are definite hiccups and curve balls, but I am so blessed and am loved by so many wonderful people.  What an amazing feeling!  :o)

I have been wanting to update my blog for the past couple of weeks, but just haven't gotten to it yet.  So, I'm taking advantage of a break at work.  Hopefully, I'll have time to throw some more pictures up soon.  (Blogs are much more fun with pictures!)

I can't wait to have a House Warming Party!!!   I want all the people I love to be able to come see my cute house!

Oh, and I am more than excited to see Jennifer in just a couple of days!  YAY!!!!!  Always love, love, love to see my forever bestest friend!  :o)

(Think I've gotten carried away with the exclamation points??  ;o)
