ranjan turns 20!

happy bday ranjan kumar :) hope you like your gifts and dinner. no 2 dollar chicken rice. haha.. we all love you! and we don't even know why.

guest of honour : mr saravanan! MIA fella finally joins us :) glad to see him. and of course, the dearest gaya pandi and shalu vaalu! look how happy gayathri is, as though it was her bday. HAHA!

marathon of movies

"i am legend" with shan and cynthia. we were the noisiest bunch there, haha.. why? cause cynthia refused to look at the gory parts and was 'telling' will smith not to do this and that. overall, it was a different type of film, albeit the comparisons to "resident evil". it's more slow paced and "the infected" were not a bunch of dumb zombies (as shan put it), but rather smart and fast! smith was good. and so was the dog! :)

"billa" (2007) with mum, bala uncle, nava chithi, hemma & divya. excellent cinematography, it was taken like an english movie, the car chases (was done by ajith himself, accomplished racer, the drift was, whoa!!). however, there will be comparisons made btw rajini (billa 1980) and ajith. i preferred rajini as billa, but well, the whole billa 2007 was a pleasure to watch, esp with prabhu's and ajith's comic scenes :) nayantara was, whoa! haha..

the first movie in kavi's and my 'sandra bullock movie marathon'! "practical magic". a very young sandra and and nicole kidman. it was funny, it was teary, it was scary sometimes and it was sweet :) the film's abt a family of witches, 2 aunts and their nieces and how marrying someone who was "normal" was a bane cause eventually he would die. the 2 sisters find love, and all the complications that followed.

nicole kidman! unrecognisable :) see what time does to you? nicole in "the golden compass" looked entirely different. haha..

the next movie kavi and i caught was "28 days". a movie abt drugs and rehab. sandra plays a drug addict who refuses to admit that she has a problem. she is sent to rehab and keeps away from all activities. it was a realistic movie :) no bluntness there. sandra's damn good.

all in all, sandra rocks. thank you.

dinner with the wonderful girls; cynthia shan and mabel. we were joined by gj and thereafter, jc. such fun. another xmas eve together :)

mabel just loves to disturb me, although the picture looks otherwise. haha.. yesyes, i will stop talking to your pinky lah! :p

life story within a few songs, lovely art & a movie marathon

uncle, aunty, kavitha and i went for the mgr show at rp on saturday evening. pretty alright. of course for most of the evening we were talking about our life stories, deepest apologies to the performers!

kavi, vanessa-damn-cool-paul and sivan :) van, i don't know how an attitude can be cute and why you think i have funny expressions. ah wells, the show was more entertaining with you guys around :) and yes, thank u for saying that having me over adds more fun to xmas day. haha..

aunty ron's da biggest sandra bullock fan i've ever known! and this isnt her complete collection of the movies. kavi and i borrowed these movies. we've caught "Practical Magic" and "28 Days". sandra bullock's BEAUTIFULLY EXCELLENT!

finally met juan and dawn :) prata-ed and juan had to leave earlier. she has a big and warm heart, really. - smiles. so dawn and i wenta thomson plaza and i ended up spending more.. haha..

dawn and i fell in love with this lovely art store that's called "Lovely DeArt"!

they sell really beautiful paintings, tea sets, table clocks, antique-looking wooden boxes and etc etc. and the prices are affordable. check it out, it's situated at Thomson Plaza, 2nd floor.

okayss.. thats how my weekend was spent. should i carry on with my sandra bullock movie marathon, alone? :)) g'night y'all.

surprise for shalu

we gathered our troops at cafe iguana on thursday night, preparing to give shalu the surprise of her life, and we really did :)) gayathri suba and i met earlier and waited for gaya to bring shalu to meet us. of course shalu didnt know that she was gonna be meeting us. that made it all the more fun. ranjan, UNfashionably late, as always. sorry ranjan, its really gonna be the 2 dollars chicken rice for your bday!

back to nyp on tuesday. for lunch! criz khorkiee min and i missed school food. so we wenta food junction, which is no more called food junction? right? okay.. oh ya, the pic above showcases minyi's funky fingernails. haha. as always.

met eileen and benny on monday. lunch at bugis. it was great seeing benny and many thanks to leen for paying for lunch :) soon, it was time for leen to get back to work, and for benny & i to shop! :)) i love benny, hahaha.. we had such great time..

the great showdown; manchester united vs liverpool. divya, hemma and i ; the man utd supporters. divya with the man utd mini replica ball, hemma with the man utd cap and me wearing man utd jersey!

the liverpool fans ; murali, satheeshh, subash, suthev and my brother. hmm, sexist arent we? the girls supporting man utd and the boys rooting for pool. haha..

yeap, full gear. haha.. well, it IS an important match! the jersey was a gift from fid uz terry & company.

you're a good friend. more than just a really good friend. all these years i've known that but i just felt like telling you suddenly. (no i'm not abt to die.) and i'm just glad you're still in my life. means alot to me.

"enchanted", "the cupid effect" and "the adorable boy of mine"! :p

firstly, i caught "Enchanted" with Shan today! :)) lovely lovely lovely movie.. shan and i laughed our way through and were hooked onto the feel-good songs featured in the movie. haha.. gosh.. shan is great company.

i bought "The Cupid Effect" by Dorothy Koomson! WOOTS! i cant say anything abt the book yet cause i have not embarked on reading it. haha.. another intriguing read i suppose :D

the adorable SUBASH :)))) whom i love to bits and pieces.. he called me this evening while i was reading a book and enquired abt the book, where i borrowed it from, whether i like to read romance novels. he's deeply interested in my life, my extra-curricular life and even my classes :) sucha sweet sweet boy. haha..
