2 sides

i've always had this disturbing thought in da back of my mind.
between the Rengas and the Jeevas (Rengas is dad's side of the family and Jeevas is mum's side), i think i am definitely closer to the Jeevas. Maybe its not entirely possible to be close to both sides, but i've always wanted the best of both worlds, or rather be the neutral one, to be standing in the middle. however i realised at times you must belong to a specific standing, ground or side. you can't draw a venn diagram and place urself in the middle where the two circles intersect. sometimes life just doesnt work that way. well now, i can say that i'm more at ease with the relatives from my mum's side. mainly cause i see them more often, i talk to them more often, i stay in hemma's house tons of times in a year, stay up till odd hours to talk to nava aunty and bala uncle and the kids, makan with kavii and her family, chat with the twins and bestu friendu Divya, plan for new year party, mothers' and fathers' day parties, birthdays and what not. i cant even say that its 5 different families. its more like one big family with all the aunts uncles and cousins.

i can sit and joke with them, sing songs (our fav!) disturb one another, have little cousins bullyin me and getting bullied, jokes over dinner, dancing, watching movies together, this list is inexhaustible.

on the other hand, i love dad's side of the family too. but there are more complications and conflicts there. i love most of my cousins to bits and pieces. and definitely my nieces and nephews too. but i dun see them as often as i should, or could. its prolly my mistake cause i hardly ever spare some time to go over to an aunt's place or cousin's house to spend time with them. brother goes over to nathan bro's house more often and meets senthil bro often too. me? my aunts and cousins know that i'm usually MIA. so no doubt whenever i go over, they'll tell me that i come over once in a blue moon, which is true actually.
dun get me wrong. i love all my aunts and uncles and every1 else there. but a relationship cannot just sustain without communicating and meeting up. doesnt every relationship require this?

what could be a hinderance is that most of my Rengas cousins are studying, working or married adults! they've got a life of their own, handling work, studies (poly, uni etc..) and their kids.
i'm regretful.. cause i love some of them (the ones i see more "often") and i wish our relationship is like it is with the Jeevas. but sometimes when a long absence follows, its pretty hard to go back to the amount of closeness you once shared with someone. so there goes...

நன்றாக "கண்ணு களவுலாம" (if you know what i mean!)!
okay okay i'm just kidding!

today i met da girls for பிராட்டா which means PRATA! the girls namely; Dawn, Michelle, Gayathri, Hui Juan, Geksan and Huishan. Juan just loves to bully me everytime she meets me, which is actually once in a blue moon lah. And Dawn's looking good, not to mention she has lost alot of weight i think. and Michelle is still da same :) Shan's looking great whereas Geksan has just graduated from the School of Lameness!
i really think SP has turned her into some lame-comments-sprouting girl, from the very demure girl she was in secondary school. we can't stand her jokes, guess we gotta sit then. hmm..
oh yes, and Ms Gayathri Nair wore the beeyootifool top that Shalu and i got for her birthday. She looks fabulous, Shalu, our taste is good! muahaha..

and did i mention that i simply love these girls? :))
okay i've a lotta love to give, i realised. but that's okay!

make your world go round.. wheee!!

i came across this interesting thingy, (late i know!)
kinda fun so just uploaded some photos and see how it goes.
more virtual exposure for mean leen! muahaha!

we look good together, don't we?!

Picasa was being a biatch earlier on and cldnt upload this picture. Prolly cause of Eileen's cursings i guess. Now its being better! Good good. Hello cyberspace, here are the photos that Leen and i took in Coffee Bean this evening! Coffee Bean in Bugis.. Not the one in Bugis Junction. Its in some ulu place lah, and best part, no crowds! Haha! Pretty quiet and conducive!

Anyway, as usual Eileen will ask me why i am "throwing her face" in cyberspace and as usual i'll tell her that she doesnt have "face" to be thrown. Okie dokes. Mean Leen, i had fun today. Next time dun embarrass me by taking pictures in da middle of little india arcade! and dun accuse people of eavesdropping our conversations, now why would they want to?! ahaha..
and i love you tooooo! :)) Posted by Picasa

Scribs & Scrabs tour of Singapore!

Much easier now! haha.. anyway, it was such fun cause from tekka we walked to bugis and from there we walked to kampong glam (is it still called that?!).. i felt as though i was on a tour with eileen. as always she's a great company. she begged me not to reveal her identity on the cyberspace, but too bad, its already been revealed long ago. pictures later! :)

udal mannukku, uyir tamizhukku!

here's what i typed in tamil. its damn klakar. but this software is good. haha.. too bad i cant just copy paste it into blogger. it doesnt work that way. grrrr... Posted by Picasa

தமிழ் -il ப்லொக் செய‌லாம் !

Hemma and Kavi u must have noticed the spelling mistakes in tamil! haha.. problem with the converter!

but anyway, its pretty difficult cause i'm using this english-to-tamil converter. kinda nice. there's a few spelling mistakes there. haha.. not cause of my tamil! its cause of the converter!
but still, feels good typing tamil! mum would be so proud of me, so will kalpana aasiriyei!! :)

The soccer loggerheads who are actually close friends :)

Look its Shalzinie! The die-hard Liverpool fan who never fails to fight with me during the EPL season. She has terribly bad taste when it comes to guys (mr.swensens, some soccer players and the list continues! just ask Gaya and me). But when it comes to soccer, she has more information and is more updated than me, which i really can't believe cause now i'm meeting sucha soccer junkie like Shalu. Its really great though; she keeps me awake during matches by sms-ing, especially during da world cup where the matches were shown at horrendous timings and we would be smsing each other, cursing players, referees and managers, Shalu would be having a nervous breakdown during every England match! Haha.

Soccer aside, she tells me great stories online. Her stories usually go like this;
"once upon a time, there lived a pisasu called Sivan."
And she would end it like that? Ehh.. Real nice story. Her tamil stories, are sucha hoot and i'm always always laughing when she scolds me in tamil. My mum would always come to my room and wonder why i'm laughing to myself. One of these days, i would be branded as insane by her. Well..

Aye.. Shalzinie does the "beep" laughter and scares Gaya and me and amuse us as well. She's always singing some song. Especially in some foreign language. Currently she's hooked to "Take the Lead" song. Not forgetting she loves club songs, you know, Daddy Yankee and company. Haha.. "Mirame Mirame...."! She hates great slow tamil songs. I told ya she has bad taste.

She makes me laugh, smile, chuckle, giggle, put a smile on my face. She does it all by just being the looney clown that she is. And yes, she loves me!! Haha.. the feeling's mutual.. =) Posted by Picasa

High flying Fletcher

I'm in love with Darren Fletcher. Remarkable midfielder.
And Arsenal doesnt deserve to win.
Ronaldo let the ball slip and it got stolen by Fabregas.
Fantastic penalty save by Thomas Kuszczak on his debut appearance.
Man Utd against Liverpool will prolly be on october 22 if i'm not wrong.
And it'll be played at Old Trafford.
Shalzinie da Silly and i will be at loggerheads then :)

Baba Part 2: Prakash in Trance

And Kums and Prakie look so alike! Haha..

Prakie da Prankster

Meet Prakash. Aged 9. A real monkey. He insisted to help us with the painting. And he did a good job too. But i dun understand how he got so much of paint over himself. And i wonder why all kids love my brother. oh, cause he always carries them at their request and he makes them laugh! Brother and his poses.. Tsk tsk.. And Prakash, just brightens up my days..
Well it isnt that hard to brighten up my days.. =)

uncle's coming over again tmr to finish the painting. he's bringing prakie along.. great..
maybe bro, prakie and i can play "whats the time mr wolf" again! :)

okok.. i'm so tired.. i miss criz suddenly.. just got reminded of all da funny faces she loves to make during tutorials! hahaa.. =) i'm tired..

Home Alone

aye. was left home alone.. look at the emptiness of the hall! haha.. and i was watching tv and reading the book at the same time. anyway, mum and dad were talking abt selling da house. and i said i m not gonna move somewhere else. i can't bear to leave this house lah. i've grown too attached to it. my house has feelings! its the nicer version of "Monster House"! haha..

anyway, enjoyed the peace and quietness. after a while it got too quiet and boring.
luckily the parents are back! :) Posted by Picasa

The kids, the looney and me!

Nathan bro came over with his family last evening. The adorable kids Keegan and Dylan were kinda quiet at first. Dylan was cranky. Guess they havent warmed up to our place yet. Cause they rarely come over and they dun see us often too, with the exception of their lovable uncle Kumaran! hahaa.. but bro was in camp yday. so the kids had to put up with me! initially keegan was so quiet, unlike him and dylan just kept crying. after that i was playin "hide and seek" in some new way and this amused dylan and keegan. and smart keegan knew where my brother kept his collection of toy cars. well even i didnt know that. so i took out the toys for them and they were happily playing with it.

i was entertaining keegan by playin the "bad guy" and it was unfair cause my aeroplanes werent supposed to fly and even my cars cant fly whilst keegan's army men could! but well, i cant argue with a 5 year old can i? and then anni (sis-in-law) came over and joined in the fun.. she built sucha nice car park for the cars but once keegan screamed at dylan, dylan was so angry that he destroyed the car park :( haha.. these kids are so cute. and i was teaching dylan new words! haha.. had fun talkin to aunt too. kept tellin her to teach keegan some tamil words.. i should.. i mean except for calling grandma in tamil "paati", calling me aunty "chithi" and the ever-famous uncle kumaran "mama", keegan doesnt talk much tamil..

such fun. wanted to stay up to watch liverpool lose to psv. unfortunately i was too tired. wanted to wake up during the 2nd half, i did wake up. but felt too sleepy. thank goodness, cause they drew lah, nil-nil. boring match i guess. man utd is playin against celtic tmr morning at 2. now, thats a match that shdnt be missed. oh ya, speaking of soccer, i went out with shalu yday. it was just nice. cause hanging out with shalu is nice! or maybe cause i'm nice to her. haha.. whatever it is, we had fun. i'll be seeing more of you lah.. since u r vetti at home! muahaha.. we talked abt lots of stuff.. i guess and i hope she'll still be there when we are in our 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond that. hahaha..

someone's back from tibet! muahaha.. and didnt get me anything! blah..

Klowning with the Klakars!

Helped out with the CSC games at Netball association this morning.. along with Fid, Khorkiee and Yuana.. it was a great day. The organisers were real fun people and of course, the 3 ppl i was with were great company too. Our task was to verify the players with their ic or student pass or drivers' license. and it wasnt that easy cause most of them looked like one another. basically the verification procedure was to prevent players without their identification cards and declaration forms to play. of course they could tell us that they have already sorted out the issue with the organisers and all. we gave them the benefit of the doubt. we were given walkie talkies. yuana's walkie talkie's channel kept switching to the taxi's channels. haha..

anyway, fid enjoyed the day more than us. he was surrounded by girls. khorkiee knows too many people. met some familiar faces there. we signed a contract with the organisers! that we wld help out for the other events too. haha..

had lunch at kfc after that. fid was imitating khorkiee's famous "basketttt" haha.. madness lah..

just had a chat with homely hemma and klown kavitha.. the jeeva's clan's girls! :)
fun fun fun.. i realise i'm closer to the jeeva's than the renga's.. but i just have tons of fun whenever i'm with them lah.. same same.. this week's been busy.. thank god for that. and chatting with dinesh has been good too. i wonder why.. hmm..

its a well known fact that shalu is jealous of my hair. haha. but i love her despite all her rebondings! and gaya too.. despite being a dumb blonde once. oppsy..

i wonder if the carrot is back from her trip to tibet! hahaha..

Prata-ing with the Pandi-s!

Yesterday was a great day. Cause i met the 2 pandi-s for prata! Actually i just called shalu out last minute, i mean who bothers calling gaya?! hahaha.. oppsy.. so shalu called gaya.. who was feeling lazy but decided to come nevertheless since dinner was on me! haha. PIG!

wenta prata house.. met the uncle, who is my friend! he's a joker lah.. happily ate.. i think i ate more than shalu (no surprise) and gaya (really!!!!).. of course its prata. haha..

left prata house and we wanted to walk to thomson plaza.. halfway while walkin, i wanted to take pics. so gaya suggested sitting at this small road, and we were snappin away.. madness lah.. but its been so long since the 3 of us just hung out and do silly stuff.. yday was no crowds; just walkin aimlessly.. disturbing shalu as usual.. walked and walked lah.. i still felt hungry so we wenta kfc. being with them makes me extra hungry. i wonder why. cause i talk more i guess.

saturday is slack day. i just feel like being at home cause dad's always saying i'm always out on saturdays. anyways, aunties are coming over. hurrah.. i love big families.. hahaa.. cause my aunties always buy something nice for me.. awww... they just love me too much. well who wldnt! i'm ramasamy's daughter!!!! hahahaa..

shalu has gone to paint her house.. i pity the house. wonder what shade will it be in.. Posted by Picasa

Smile lah!

It was Prakash's birthday yday. So Nava aunt, Hemz, Div, Kums and i went over.
Just a simple celebration; sing song, cut the cake, take loads of pictures, headed down to eat!
And after some coaxing from my best friend Divya, i finally smiled while takin photos, well it isnt that easy with 5 teeth missing.. but well, what are best friends for?! "ph-aaaaaaan-diiii" :p
And brother and his wacky poses! Well, we have love for Prakie, but we bully him nicely too.

The kids are here to stay.. With Nava aunt as well. Entertaining. And threatening Prakash to get his assessments done. Kids nowadays dun listen to their elders and even ROLL THEIR EYES at us! I'm shocked! Tsk tsk.. Anyhow, he's had a great time over here cause mum has been real slack with him. Tmr we'll visit the Monster House with PK aunt! :)

Oh, Minyi's back from Beijing! Haha.. More noise now! Quack! Posted by Picasa

you're too big for a small town

havent seen you around lately
you must have been somewhere around
i look for you where ever i go
but i feel you're too big for a small town

this is where we grew up
this is where we fought
the place holds so much of memories
that money couldnt but time has bought

how are you doing now
has life been treating you good
have you grown into your bigger dreams
maybe thats the way it should

you could call me up someday
i'm still here, i was never gone
we could even meet if you would
but you're too big for a small town

i would have loved you to stay
i could take a bus down
just to catch up over the years
but well, you're too big for a small town.

sometimes the mask slips off ..

they say karma catches up with you.. it already caught up with me for something i did 4 years ago.. maybe it caught me again. i'm still thinking what did i do. havent been a nice person to certain people. is it too late to repent. down in da dumps, after madly re-enacting something along da streets of orchard.

have you ever thought you would be okay after a while when a friend or someone close to you leaves? yeap you brood abt it, you might cry about it, think about it. eventually you get on with it cause there are other stuff in your life that needs your attention. but that doesnt mean you've forgotten abt the person and that you could erase off the presence/memories you've had.
time makes it better after a while. but what time had accomplished over months, could be destroyed during the sighting of the person. some debate within. how are we to convey our good byes? when we were friends, it was a hug and a smile. what do we call ourselves now? how do we talk? its easier to talk to some stranger on da roads, its harder to talk like a stranger to someone you've known for a long time.

somedays i wish london was nearer. still, i cant explain myself. so i wldnt bother to.
everyone just leaves eventually.

Sivan oru pisasu - Sivan is a monster?!

vanakkam. shalu wants to tell me that i am a pisasu.. well she has alr made that point clear in my tagboard. and although out of my kindness, i'm telling her bedtime stories over msn, she doesnt appreciate this. how mean can she get. my stories always make her laugh.. but i made her the car for my 2nd story.. haha.. shalu da cat.. anyhow, today was teachers' day celeb..
went back to primary school! haha.. with rinita, keerthi, yves, yuga and karthi.

met ronnie first (its rinita's nickname given by urs truly).. got a gift for our teacher.. and wenta meet keerthi! i love his house! i even made him invite us for post-deepavali party this year! haha.. just cause i like his house, and his mum too!

anyway, its good to be back.. caught up with mrs raju and the many kids who turned up.. and also to my batch of friends.. had a meal with them. pretty much the same, except for changes in appearances.. they're still da wacky self. isnt that great.. how some people remain the same over a period of time while some eventually change? haha..

i was chatting with this friend of mine.. call him KC okay! its sad that sometimes no matter how long or hard you've loved someone, they'll never love you back. and sometimes, you have to be okay with that - as said by KC of course..
its saddening.. why can't we love and be loved! alright, i can't blog properly now, cause i'm in no state of mind to deal with the complexities of love..

driving sucked today. i dunno why but i totally forgot how to do vertical parking, when i just went thru it on tuesday. my mind simply went blank.. sucky feeling.. was good to see bunny and minyi after that.. min and i were making so much of noise that poor bunny cldnt talk over the phone.. what r friends for anyway.. anyway min has this hilarious kan cheong habit:
whenever i ask her "min do you want to.....?" before i can finish my sentence, she'll go "yes!!" ahaha.. nonsense lah.. bon voyage to her, she's flying off for a short trip.. she'll be back with more shoes, i bet.

meeting khorkieesamy tmr.. to go for the IT fair.. cause i needa get some stuff..
saturday is reserved by gaya's post-bday dinner, along with shalu and gaya has expensive taste. i sure hope she's treating us! right shalu?! haha..

next week will be driving and more driving, tuesday will be dinner with darling bday boy prakash.. gotta find time to visit pasir ris! oh, meeting vanisha tmr as well.. how can i miss that..

so well.. either i need a job, or i need tons of money.. if yves can set up his unit trust fund, i'll get it from there =)
