Mmm for those who already know abt my injury; Hi i'm doing better!
For those who are wondering what on earth happened; i injured my shin, yet AGAIN! same trouble spot, so its sorta an old injury. well, after i got hit, my tibia gave way to the pressure and cracked, causing the broken bone to protrude out, tearing my skin, and causing massive bleeding.
NO I'M JUST KIDDING about the horrific gory details! but its true, i injured my shin lah!
played soccer with the guys + my fav soccer gal Criz, after coaching prac on friday. Clare came ta join us after a while. anyway, Criz and i were captains of our team! duh, we were da only girls playing! haha.. so terry, fid, firhan and uzair were in my team and benny, zul, yuanzhi and imran were in Criz' team. it was a good game really. terry was doing his great skills and tricks during da match that i asked him not to be like christiano ronaldo! haha.. and zul is great! actually everyone was very good. tried to tackle imran for the ball but he got away.. haha.. and criz and i were marking each other! she is good! both of us were playin defensive lah. we dun attack. cause usually, the moment the ball is in our possession, it gets snatched straight away! haha..
so ya, at one point, clare was tryna get possession of da ball and both of us ran towards it. i made a bad judgement and did a slide-tackle on her. WHICH ACTUALLY SHOULD BE DONE ON THE SOCCER BALL AND NOT THE PERSON!!! haha.. my shin made contact with her shoe. and OUCH, that hurt! was alright after a while lah.. resumed playing and criz left at 1pm.. after that i noticed my shin was swollen so yeap, i did the first procedure of the R.I.C.E technique! REST! haha.. went over to da bench lah.. clare got me ice and Leen and Anna (my medic) came to my aid.
anyway, i gotta tell ya that ice really works.. after 2 days, my swell has gone down good. now, traditionally, indian mothers like to use hot water to treat the swell. but hot water increases blood flow to the affected area, which makes the swelling and pain worse. heat should be applied after the swelling has gone down, prolly 48 or 72 hours later. yeap. but well, mum is arguing with me that heat works better than ice! because whenever i sprained my ankles (abt 4 or 5 times in da past 4 years) mum always uses hot water to bring down the swelling. hmm.. but when i had the serious shin injury aft taekwondo on Nov 2004, mum used hot water as usual but after that it was horrendously painful and i didnt rest my leg, so the next day, my foot turned purple! hahaha.. how scary was that. after that, aunty brought me to da doctor lah. yeap. that was long ago.. some learning experience that was. hmm..
anyway, im doing better. 3 cheers to Mr Kelvin Ng and Ice! and Clare for getting me ice immediately after my injury, and Terry for telling me "no no dun do this kinda tackle!" in a kind way! haha.. and also Eileen and Anna for being so caring and accompanyin me to da interchange. i've always had wonderful friends. and also Min for scolding me after i told her abt my injury.
so well.. planned to meet gaya and shalu today. but cldnt. they miss me too much. haha.. working on da many ICAs that are soon to be dued. mug away.. oh yes, 3rd placing match tmr morning at 3am. please support the Germans! :)
