I had offered to host Book Club in March, and I happened to make some curtain decisions just in time to hang them for it! I think I was putting off hanging curtains in my pout of "Why bother, when we'll probably just move again once I get settled!" (I get pretty pouty when my plans have to change, but I'm trying to grow out of that!). There is so much about our new area to love though (mostly people), that I am finding myself willing to love everything and everyone again, even at the risk of having to let go. These ties that make goodbyes so awful really are the joy of life, and I'm SO grateful for how many amazing people have blessed my life in EVERY place and time I've lived. I feel SO, SO blessed, and if anything, should be RUSHING to build relationships so as not to waste a minute that could be spent learning and loving that much more. (so much philosophy out of curtains!) I also set up the new closet in our front music room, freshened up the kid's pic's & decorated our little half bath with some framed pages that came out of a DARLING book Mom had as a little girl!
Later, we spruced up Anne & Lucy's room, finally hanging up curtains and their canopy :)Sunday, April 17, 2016
Spring Break and Spencer's Birthday!!
We started off Spring Break with a fabulous Conference Weekend (including a sweet short visit w/ Briant!). We taped all 15 prophets on the wall to write/ illustrate what their talks were about. Spencer made a radio from his Christmas Snap Circuit set and listened to Conference on that. Saturday Afternoon, Brian and I found and purchased a FABULOUS new (to us) Honda Accord!! It is a 1992, and we got it from the meticulous original owner!--for $1800, it was a goldmine find!!--even if we do have to teach everyone how to drive stickshift now!!
Brent and I worked on the temple grounds one morning, and then Brian & I cleaned there Friday night. We swam at the Nat one day, found awesome Marble park made from tractor parts (?!), and totally enjoyed the surprising bursts of blossoms ALL OVER our yard!! #tulipsfordays!!!
Spencer turned 12, we had a fun dinner at Costa Vida's, and home for eclair cake. He was excited to be able to go to the temple a week later and finally do baptisms in the temple for the stack of family names that he had found!
