The "Poo-Poo" card!

So becoming a mother of two I can confidently say has been amazing. I can't say it has been super easy or perfect for that matter but I have truly enjoyed it. Delia has done pretty good, has some jealousy issues but that is totally understandable. But lately she has been pushing my buttons by pulling the "Poo-Poo card."
The poo poo card as I am so lovingly calling it is this: I go to do something and she totally comes up and says ""Mama I have to go poo poo." Which is fine, except I think she holds it until these times and then uses it to get my attention. Here is a few examples just from today.

1. I work out during Donovan's morning nap. That way in the afternoon, I can get stuff done while they are both napping. So I put him to sleep. Get her out some playdough, stickers, scissors, or colors to play with and start my workout on the wii. About two minutes in "the poo poo card" So I stop and take her.

2. We are all playing in the living room. Donovan needs a diaper change so I tell her I am going to change his diaper and will be right back. Two Seconds after I lay him down and get the dirty diaper off. "the poo poo card".

3. Lunch is always fun. Today she just played and hardly ate, but amazingly pulled the poo poo card twice. Once while we were all sitting at the table and I was feeding Donovan his Squash. Second after I fed him I sat down to eat my lunch and she did it again.

I have tried taking her to the bathroom before any of these times because it just seems like a game to her. But even if she goes to the bathroom before. She always has to go again. She will sit on the potty and I swear she can make herself poop even if it is just one little pebble. I am scared to call her bluff because 1.I don't want to clean it up. 2.She goes when she says she has too. She has been potty trained since she was 19 months old so this is nothing new to her. We are working on her going by herself but she hasn't quite gotten the wiping process down.

I know that some day I will look back at this and laugh. But right now it just drives me crazy. I feel like no matter how much planning/organzing I do the "Poo Poo card" always gets played. :)

Have a blessed weekend!!!!

New Years Goals and Meal Planning!!!

So 2011 is here. It is that time again to make resolutions or as I like to call them goals. So lets start out with a little update. I have quit my job. I am now a full time stay at home mom. So it is now time for me to get organized and hopefully have a little more energy to devote to my family. So here are my goals for the year.

1. Get organized. i.e. meal plan, activities for kids, ect.....
2. Read my Bible more!! I have really been a slacker at my bible studying.
3. Work out three times a week. The baby weight is gone but my body is not back so my goal is to tone and shape my body.
4. Run a 1/2 marathon by the end of the year. This is a big one for me. I don't know where I will find the time for this but I would really like to do it.
5. Be the best mother and wife I can be, because they deserve it.

So to get started here is my meal plan for the next two weeks. I have alot of crockpot recipes in here so I am hoping that will help with time. Note: By no means am I a fancy cook.

3rd-Monday-Chicken and Rice Casserole
4th-Tuesday-Wheat Tortellini with Wheat Pasta and Garlic Bread
5th-Wed-Carissa's Chicken Salad Sandwiches

The life of a new Mommy!

So I am now officially the mother to two children. It still seems weird to say that and D-man is already over two months old. He is a pretty good baby. He was a little colicky at first but seemed to get over it soon. He is a good sleeper and went into his own room alot earlier than his sister did. Life has been crazy with two kids, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I have always heard that going to two children is really hard. It has been a change but not as bad as I thought it would be. The biggest struggles I have is with "Mommy Guilt". I have a busy, social toddler who just wants to be played with all of the time or be a very big helper aka little mommy. Then I have a newborn that I know isn't getting held as much as his sister. Then I have a house to take care of, a husband to take care of and a part time job. On top of all of this I am trying to start a embroidery business and I have jumped into Spanish once again, trying to get fluent. I definately have to stay more organized as a mother of two and it sure does take alot longer to get out the door. And on those random days when I get a couple of hours to myself I feel guilty for leaving the kids with my husband or my parents. (like I am slacking on the job or something, I know this sounds ridiculous) So all in all life has been great just trying to figure out how to balance life without going nuts. It is hard to explain this frustration and I have no idea if this post is making any sense. So here is to staying organized and not having so much Mommy guilt!
Hope you all have a blessed week!

This and That

So this week is a big week for my family. We will welcome a new little man into our lives. Donovan Luis Perez is scheduled to be delivered via c-section on Friday. I am so excited, nervous, anxious, and a whole other mix of emotions. The nursery is done and our bags are packed for the most part. I have so many different feelings going on. I thought that I would like knowing what day I would be delivering, but now I think it is worse. I am trying to enjoy lots of time with Delia this week, keep my house clean and get the couple of things done on my to do list. I hope the week goes fast but not too fast. I plan on taking some naps, going to bed early and just enjoy this time in general but it is really hard. I am so ready to meet our newest little blessing and to be a family of four. Until I can post pics of him here are some pictures of his nursery. There is more on my facebook page if you want to see them!
Hope you all have a blessed week!

Blogging world has not been forgotten....

Hello All!

Well to say the least it has been long time since I posted anything. I have been a slacker and have been hearing about it from several people. Good to know at least someone misses my weirdness.
I don't really have a "topic" for today so here is what is currently going on in my life.

-It is raining outside. I love it! It has been raining alot lately but being 9 months pregnant in July I will take the cooler temperatures.
-World Cup is going on. For me I haven't watched one game all the way through but for my husband this is "chocolate". He has been all about soccer for the last month, much to my nesting dismay. It is over on July 11th, so hopefully I can talk him into doing some of the things I think need to be done, but can't do myself. One thing good about the WC is it made Father Day gift buying easy. Just buy something that has to do with the world cup.
-As mentioned above I am very pregnant. I will have a C-section on July 30th. I have very mixed feelings about this. I am excited, scared, anxious, and worried. I still have a little to do but basically we are ready for our little man. I have one last shower on Sat, so after that hopefully I can find the energy to put the finishing touches on everything.
-Delia is getting bigger and bigger. She is one of the reasons I listed all of the above emotions. She has had her Mommy all to herself and know she is going to have to share. I just hope I am not sleep deprived enough that she doesn't feel neglected.

Well I think that is all for now. Going to go to bed and TRY to sleep! HaHa Hopefully I can keep this updated a little more. Only time, and a new baby, will tell. :)

Hope you all have a blessed week!

Here and There and Everywhere

So alot has been going on the last couple of months and I have decided that even though I love blogging I really stink at it. Before I had a blog I had so much I wanted to write about, then when I got one, I am a total slacker with it. So hopefully I can get better at it. So for now here is a couple of things happening in our life.

1. We found out we are having a BOY! Yea! I am so excited, now to determine a name. We have narrowed it down to two. I know what my favorite is, but Chuck won't pick one yet. :) (I think he already has, but just like to drag me along because he know he is driving me crazy!) So when we get a name I will let you know. The nursery is painted light blue, we will be putting a thick chocolate brown stripe around and a thin orange stripe on either side of that. Me and my mom are going to make the bedding. We will use dinasours and Soccer Balls (are you surprised). We are going to work on the bedding over spring break so hopefully I can post pics soon.

2. I am so glad it is almost spring! I love the Sunshine!!!!!!!

3. My 10 year highschool reunion is in June. Weird, so weird. I have mixed feeling about this but and so excited to go and see everyone! More than just looking at their lives through facebook. LOL

I don't really know what else to write for now so if I think of something else I will just have to post later.

I hope you all have a blessed week!
