Christmas Traditions 2012

So, we've made a few Christmas traditions throughout the past couple years, it's so much fun to experience these with kids. I hope these memories last for my babies...

First....
Reindeer food!

Oats and sprinkles....yummy!

Brother gets to get in on the fun this year!

Second:
Birthday cake baking for Jesus

What.a.goofball!

Third:
Christmas jammies

Yay for presents!

Aw, they love them!

Cutie

Handsome dude

Fourth:
Handwritten notes to Santa

or scribbles

(continuation of first)
setting out the food for the reindeer

Sparkly

Fifth:
Milk and cookies for Santa

(second continued)
finished cake for Jesus

looks delicious, right?!

This is our first year to celebrate Christmas in our new home. It's SO much fun. I wish this time of year didn't fly by so quickly, but with all the hustle and bustle, of course it does. With these traditions, my lil ones can (hopefully) focus on the real meaning of this time of year: faith, and family.

S.C. on a Firetruck

Did you know that here in Georgia, Santa comes around on a Fire Truck? How cool is that?! Even better, he hands out candy canes! Tonight, he came by our house...

We waited outside for a looong time!

Anticipation...

"Don't worry brother, he's coming!"

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

He's here! He came!

Sis was all about it...she couldn't wait to see him!

And there he goes! Short and sweet.

So funny story. We waited and waited for Santa to come right. He came it was great. Then he left. AS SOON AS he got back on that fire truck, the flood gates open. K just lost it! I couldn't figure out why she was so upset (besides the obvious), until I got her to calm down. Here's (something like) how our conversation went:
Me: What's wrong Kerrington, why are you so upset?
K: (sobbing) He didn't kshilwlaknskhu...
Me: He what?
K: He didn't bring my princess thing! (What she asked Santa for Christmas)
Me: Ohhhh! Baby, it's not Christmas yet, hunny! You have to wait a little longer. Come on inside, let's go look at the countdown to see how much longer until he visits our house and brings presents.

Funny, right? She thought Santa was bringing her the present she asked for that night. Why wouldn't she! Thank goodness I had made a paper ring countdown so that she could visualize how much longer until Christmas. Whew...dodged a bullet.

Christmas Celebration

Here's our little cutie all ready for her Christmas Celebration at school!

K with two of her classroom buddies, Grace and Raney

Brother was waiting patiently for his sis to sing on stage!

There she is! Do you see her!

The silly girl couldn't take her fingers out of her mouth...stage fright maybe?! If so, she definitely isn't her daddy's daughter!

It was super cute and fun to see all the kids up there. Some went all out, and some just stood there...so entertaining.

"There's my mommy!"

Back in the classroom, everyone's getting ready to say prayer before the feast!

" God our Father, God our Father, we thank you!..."

Kerrington and her buddy Austyn. They were dressed the exact same!

Twinies!

Circle time

"Happy Birthday Jesus"

That girl is concentrating!

Singing with her buddies!

Kerrington and Mrs. DeeAnna

And Mrs. Opal!

And of course, Mrs. Lyn!
