Chico vs PV basketball

I made Andrew chocolate chip pancakes for game day breakfast but we were out  of syrup....put jam on them but he said jam doesn't go with chocolate.
I worked at the snack bar during the varsity game and was placed in the corner by the band.  They were so loud.

Orthodontist

Andrew got his braces tightened. He also got to change the color, so he picked green.  Wait, when did his legs get so long (and hairy, haha). We always take middle of the day appointments so he doesn't miss any games or practices.  It's never crowded in the middle of the day either.

Backyard work at the Driscolls

We helped the Driscolls get their backyard ready for Angelika's wedding reception. They are keeping their basketball court which makes all the boys happy.

Sharks Win

When you help the Sharks beat the Penguins by wearing a Penguins shirt on game day to jinx them.

First Date

Andrew went on his first date today.  They went miniature golfing.  I drove Andrew over there and snuck a picture of him as he walked in, haha.
They also looked at fish and hamsters at the pet store and went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. I think he had fun. And yes I Facebook stalked her and she's beautiful.

Sleep Hours

When I was a kid, we always went to bed at 9.... except on Fridays and Saturdays. That means we (the kids) got 10 hours of sleep a night.  My kids DO NOT EVER go to bed at 9 and they wake up at 5:30 am so this is something that concerns me.  Sleep is so important.

Shasta

Bradley's team had a game in Redding at Shasta High School on Friday.  Scott and I went up there to watch.  I used to always think the drive to Redding was 2 hours, but it really is only 1.5 hours, so that's good.  But if you add up the ride there and the ride back, that's three hours and a lot of miles driven.  This was the third time we've driven to Shasta High for soccer this year.  We will also go back in a few weeks for Basketball with Andrew.

Bradley has now scored three of his biggest, best, most important goals of his high school career on that field.  Melanee also had her first championship game there at Shasta and Andrew has played a few important football/basketball games there.

Bradley's team won 5-0 and Bradley scored one of them.

Winter or Fall?

On my courier route, I keep seeing these trees with all brown leaves that haven't fallen off yet.  One day they are all going to fall off all at once!

Work!

I work in the clerical department and drive a courier route for a medical billing place.  I have been there for two years now and I love it a lot.

Here is our building.  Our office complex is called Philadelphia Square, so all the offices look like old Philadelphia buildings and homes/mansions.
here are the folders I pick up and deliver

Stop light!

There is one intersection I must go through to get to work.  It does not have a left turn green light arrow, so we have to wait for an opening to turn left....only problem, there NEVER is an opening during the 8 am traffic.  I just go up into the intersection and do my turn after the light is red.  I am pretty sure there is a term for that....bottleneck or something....but I have to get to work.  Anyway, this AMBULANCE was a real rule obeyer and would NOT go up into the intersection.  We sat there for THREE full lights before he did it. If I dont leave my house by 7:45, I should just plan on being late for work even though it's a 5 minute drive.......this intersection RUINS everything.  Who do I write to to get a left arrow green light??!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????  Serious!!!!

Chickens

We have friends who have hundreds of chickens.  They sell the eggs.  It is their 14 year old's son's project because he's trying to make enough money to buy an excavator.  He started a few years back and will have enough this spring.  He may have made it sooner, but they have their eggs out in a help yourself and put money in the money box kind of set up along the road, and their money box has been stolen a few times.
While we were there, Scott did a minor surgery on one of the chicken's infected face.  Ewwww!

The reason we went out there was because they have a bird pucker for when they butcher their turkeys for Thanksgiving.  Anyway, they said Scott could use it for when he hunts ducks and geese.  I know it was faster than hand plucking, but it was kind of a big ordeal to get out the big machine, put water in it, etc....I think he will continue to hand pluck them in the future.

Fog

These pictures dont show it very well, but it has been foggy around here lately.  I don't like fog.

back to facebook???

I kinda went back to facebook for posting things because the blog is hard to do from my phone.  And, because it's all about the "likes" and I get none here, in fact, I dont even think anyone reads this!!

I also need to take more photographs!

It's been raining for a few days now and I miss the sun.  I also dont like getting cold and wet.  But I know we need the rain.  I also like the the grass is turning green everywhere.

Andrew's team won last night.  I didn't take any pictures.  Bradley has a soccer game tomorrow and Andrew has another game on Thurs, so I will try to get some "action shots".

At church, Andrew just got ordained a Priest.  He is now 16.  His birthday was last month.  He's growing up so fast.  My youngest is SIXTEEN, how can that be.

Yesterday I got a letter in the mail addressed to "grandma Guymon" ...GRANDMA....me???  Andrew 16, me a grandma.....wait, when did all of this happen???  I thought I was young and had little kids???  Nope, not anymore.

Its a new semester at school for the kids.  I hope they work hard on their grades!  They are both pretty lazy.  Both smart, too, though.

I need to go pick Andrew up from practice, but I promise, I will try to take more photos and blog more.....or maybe just find me on Facebook, way easier!!!!

Church basketball

Back at it again. I remember just a few years  Bradley
was tiny and I felt it wasn't fair to have 12 year olds play against 18 year olds....now agohe's one of the 18 year olds

Football

I really like this picture and I don't think I've ever shared it before so here it is for all to enjoy. It's a picture of andrew's football team when they were on their way to the game against Lassen in susanville. They were riding in a luxury bus and stopped at a rest stop. I'm glad someone thought to get a picture and I'm glad Andrew shared it with me!

Golden Gate bridge

We came into San Francisco after drop Bradley off in Navoto, so we got to drive over the Golden Gate bridge.  It was spectacular!!!

This is Angelika taking pictures out the window-

Us crossing the bridge-

There were no toll takes, no place to pay...they just take pictures of your license plate and send you a bill for $7.95.

Baker Beach

I always see people posting pictures from someplace near the Golden Gate bridge, but I would never know how to get there, zopher so I'm glad Shannon stopped there.

Driving around San Francisco

I drove to San Francisco with Shannon and Angelika.  The friends we we're meeting we're coming from Palo Alto, so we had a few hours to kill. We drove around and saw things like the Castro district. Lots of rainbow flags and even a rainbow crosswalk.

Angelika wanted to get her brother some special cards only sold at special places and San Francisco had one of them.
When we found a parking space (almost impossible to do) we looked at the meter and there was 44 minutes on it already....some random guy walking past exclaimed, "it's a Christmas miracle!!!"
We went to a game store that melanee and Dax would have loved.

Fancy Dinner

I didn't take many pictures inside the restaurant and I don't remember the name of the restaurant, but it was downtown San Francisco on Battery street.  It was a Basque restaurant.  The food was delicious and expensive.

We had to walk nearly two miles from out hotel to get there. It was neat to walk around and see the city by foot, but there was a lot of trash and quite a few homeless people laying around and begging.

San Francisco hotel- Hotel Beresford

I have never spent much time in "the city" even though I am from the bay area.  I think I've been to San Francisco very few times...I can remember field trips to the Exploratorium, a trip to the Gunny Sack factory, the San Francisco symphony with my dad, the senior ball, visits to my uncle when he lived there, a Giants game, and that's about it. One time Scott and I went to visit my friend Kanday there and we had a hard time finding a parking place and had to cross a gay parade to get to the apartment she was at, so Scott never wants to go back.  Well, this past weekend, my friends invited me to go to San Francisco with them.  We even stayed downtown in the union square district.  One of our friends got a fancy hotel. She said it was a two star hotel, but if that was a two star, I really can't imagine a there or four or even five because it was really nice!!! Ah man, I should have taken some pictures when we were inside the room!!!!
Here is one of the lobby.
And this is where we parked on the street for 6 minutes for every quarter. We parked on trash. Yuck! But saved the $40 it would have cost to park in the parking garage. (It was nearly 6:00 when we parked and 6 pm to 9am is free.  So we just put money in the meter in the morning.

Oakland Temple

I am blogging from my phone, so not sure how it will work, but if it does, it will help me be more likely to blog because my laptop is still broken.
On Saturday, Scott and I went to the Oakland Temple with our friends Tim, Jeni, Shannon, and Angelika. It was beautiful.  The Christmas lights were still up and the landscape was lovely. We could see Oakland and San Francisco.  It wasn't the clearest day or the prettiest sunset, but it was nice to look out at the Bay.  Very peaceful.
