Game number 5

Andrew's team has 10 games this season and yesterday they played game number 5, so I guess their season is half over!  Hard to believe!  Seems like it just started!

They are doing really well.  They haven't lost a game.  They seem to have a lot of fun, too!

Yesterday's game was in Orland.  It was supposed to be a home game, but the brand new, million dollar field is not ready to be played on yet!  I cant want to have a home game--- no travel and the field is going to look great.  Only problem is they ran out of money before they could build bleachers! I hope we can find a good place to sit in our comfy folding chairs!  Should be interesting!!!  I dont know if the view will be better, but I am sure our chairs are more comfortable than hard, hard bleachers!!!

we arrived before the team, so I got this picture of them walking to the sideline!

warm ups

this is Andrew's sack

team cheer and pep talk at the end of half time, with the head coach walking back to the sideline

andrew is on the kick off team, he's the one with the long sleeved red shirt

Post game smiles-

Andrew's scout leaders brought the scouts to watch the game!  Andrew definitely had the biggest cheering section!

Forgot about game 2

Was checking out my blog and noticed there wasn't any mention of Andrew's second game.  Well, he had one.  They won that one, too!

It was their first "home" game, but it was played at PV's field, not Chico's because Chico's was still being finalized.  They were supposed to play a real home game tomorrow, but the field is STILL not finished, so the game will be in Orland. Not fair!!!

Since this game was a few weeks ago, I will just share a few pictures and words.  The opponent was Lassen and Andrew's team was much better.  Everyone got playing time in this game because it was starting to be a blow out.  Andrew played on kick offs, defensive end, and even a little tight end for one series at the end of the game.  He almost recovered a fumble in the end zone, but the ref declared him out of bounds (he was).  But that would have been exciting!!!

You can see the score in this picture.

Melanee said she liked the uniforms and I thought, "Yeah, if you like clowns....or Ronald McDonald."  Haha.  (Or Ketchup and Mustard!!!)

Game #4

Tomorrow is game #5, so I better hurry and blog about game number 4!!!

Andrew's team played Yuba City, in Yuba City, so Scott and I drove down there and watched it. It is only an hour away, not too far.  Andrew is on the kick off team, so I didnt want to be late.  We walked in during the National Anthem, so we were good, but I was worried we'd be late because, of course, we got stopped at all the lights and there was a lot of traffic through Live Oak.

Yuba City High had poor planning when they built their stadium, they put the home stands on the side that looks directly into the sun.  The visitor side was in complete shade. It was wonderful.

Andrew's team is pretty good.  They won again.  Yuba City had beat PV the week before, so we thought the game was going to be really tough.  It started out that way, Yuba ran the ball the whole first quarter, but didn't score.  We got the ball, gave it to our best player, and scored on our first play.

Yuba had a big offensive line, and Andrew really isn't "big", he's tall, but those guys were wide.  Andrew got all pushed around and beat up, but he still got a few tackles, nearly a few sacks, and Yuba never scored when he was in, so I think he's better than the other defensive tackle.  But, I'm his mom, so of course I think that!

Andrew had fun.  I think Scott really has fun watching, too!

Andrew is #88, in this game he was the only one with a red long sleeved under armour shirt under his uniform, so it was really easy to spot him.

I like this picture because of the flag.

I like this one because of the moon!

We are the "basketball moms"....but our kids are now playing football, so I guess that makes us the football moms now!  These are my favorite football moms!

We brought the Gatorade....along with the other basketball moms....and they were really needed because Yuba City had no water or even hoses, nothing, on the sideline!!!

If I remember correctly, the final score was 30-6???

9/8/16

third game

Andrew's team played their third game of the season tonight.  We drove over to Oroville (about 30 minutes away) to watch.  It was hot and very sunny.  The last time I was at that stadium was for a soccer game in the windy, rainy, freezing cold soccer season...DRASTICo p difference.

Andrew's team easily beat Oroville 28-0.  It wasn't even close, Oroville was not very good.  All of Andrew's team's subs got to play in this game.

Andrew made the tackle on the first play of the game.  The announced his name on the loud speaker.  He also made two other tackles.  He played on offense a little on the last drive of the game and almost recovered the fumble on the point after attempt, but he was ruled out of bounds.

He had fun!
Look, its the National Anthem and everyone is standing!!!

getting ready for the kick off

Andrew is the skinny one, in front of the ref, with black gloves, getting ready to go hit the guy in front of him

running down on the kick off trying to get to the ball carrier to tackle him

Another kick off

andrew got cleated three times on one of his tackles!  ouch!!! this his his chest/stomach
