time to leave

When it was time to go home, it was raining outside and dark.  We went and got into the truck....started down the street....and realized.....we had a flat tire...Scott changed it in the rain and we got home safely.

Thanksgiving

My dad invited us over for a Friday Thanksgiving dinner.....David and his family and Sharon also came...We were missing Kenny and his family, Melane and her family, and William
, but I photoshopped them into the family photo.
We had all the traditional Thanksgiving foods and treats.

Robin and Sharon did all the work in the kitchen.

Scott carved the turkey.

Bradley was hungry!

and wanted a "drink" (But didn't get one!)

Trying to get everyone settled at the table

Peter liked to stick his turkey into his orange juice and he'd say, "Juicy" afterwards.

He also got the Sharks glass.

He was really excited and could hardly sit still by the end of dinner.

See, I was there!

Robin sat at the far end of the table and after Andrew, Peter, and Philip were excused, there was a big gap between her and the rest of us.

They went to the park today and found beautiful fall leaves, which were used as a table decoration.

Later we ate dessert.  The cheesecake I made was a bigger hit than the pumpkin pie.

goodbye trampoline

We have had this trampoline for more than 10 years and have had mannnnnnny hours of fun on it, but it is warped, missing springs, and is very obviously dangerous....so, we got rid of it today.  This trampoline served us well, but it was actually a hand me down trampoline from a family who had used it for about 10 years before us.....in fact, one time they moved, they didn't even take it apart, just put it in the back of Scott's truck and he drove it slowly down the street!  I've loved having it for the kids, but I am also glad to get rid of it....for safety reasons.

Have I shared a pic of the house completely painted, yet?  Looks totally different!

Thanksgiving #1

We are having Thanksgiving tomorrow with my dad, brother, and Sharon, but today we went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving with them.  Three families were there, plus a grandma and the missionaries.  It was fun, lots of people, good food.

Thanksgiving so far

We have an appraiser coming over tomorrow, so we've been sprucing up the house.  A few of the fence boards were broken a few weeks ago when Scott and his friend were trying to lift the car top boat over it...so in replacing those 4 boards, we needed to paint the whole fence.  Not a "hard" job, but not fun or easy...kinda time consuming.  Nice day outside and nothing better to do, so we did it.  It's done!

Earlier today I did some holiday baking.  I had a graham cracker crust I was going to use for a cheesecake, but I forgot to buy some cream cheese, so I made a pumpkin pie instead.  I also made brownies because everyone here likes them (more than pumpkin pie).

as the pie was cooking we could smell it burning, so I took it out, but if you can see, the pie filling leaked onto the cookie sheet, so that was all that was burning!  I should have cooked the pie longer.

Andddddd, while I was painting, whenever I saw a spider I squished it or just painted it into the wood.....I saw lots of spiders today....I thought I killed lots, too, but I guess one got mad at me for hurting his friends, when I came in, I looked at my arm and I have a big spider bite.  Itchy!!!

fixing the fence

Ah haha....Andrew thought it was going to be a sit on the couch kind of day.....Scott had him out fixing the broken fence boards!

He did it quickly, though, so he's back in the house watching Disney Channel.
