Trip Pictures
Vermont is beautiful. I don't know if you can tell from my pictures.
The last pic was taken when I was in the airport in Chicago.
The first one is my motel room.
The ones in between show Vermont from my plane window.
I'm here now. The team is having a meeting, then they are going to dinner, I think. I got to go watch them practice in the dark.

USCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
I was just looking on the USCAA web site to see if they have added more info about Nationals and one of the articles on the website was this week's Player of the Week, so I clicked on it.....and first was the cross country runners, I scrolled down, next was men's soccer, kept scrolling and then I saw MELANEE GUYMON....USCAA's Player of the Week for the past week!!!!! That was really thrilling for me....and there was no one home to tell. SO COOL! Thanks Matt, or Kyle, or the Athletic Director or whomever nominated her!!!!! Made me happy.

I think I'm going
I've decided to go to Vermont. (Or at least TRY, since I'll be flying standby!!!!!) Melanee is really excited. Richard had a good idea, but it was too late, but he said I should just show up, not tell her that I would be coming! Now that would have been FUN. Why didn't I think of that!!!!
So, Michelle and Krisha, I may be calling you. Or Scott might. I think taking care of Bradley and Andrew would be hard for Michelle because she works. I also think it would be hard for Krisha because of her "condition" right now. I am not sure who to ask. Maybe Krisha could take them after school and Michelle could get them when she was done with all her work??? I don't know what would be best for both of you!!!!! The Chelsons said they would help, too. The Leavitts said they would help too. She even offered me a winter coat, but have you ever seen how small she is!!!!!!!!!!???!!!!!!!?????????????! lol.
William is going to watch the boys soccer games on Saturday...maybe Michelle, you could bring them home....but I doubt you'll have room in your car for you, Jace, and 4 boys!!! Scott has to work on Saturday. There is no school on Friday. Scott said he could take them to work. My friend Kristen is going to coach for Thursday's soccer practice...and I'll try to get a dad to do Saturday's game...or maybe William, if Michelle will watch Andrew!
WOW, there is a lot going on. I told Bradley he HAS to be invited first, but he thinks he's going trick or treating with Kolby.
For all you out of town family and friends reading this....... you can help by not LAUGHING at Scott! He's going to be going crazy, I'm sure. lol.

Final Game of Regular Season
Melanee's team played their last regular season game tonight in the SNOW. The temperature was in the 20's. The snow was not the soft fluffy stuff you see in Hollywood movies. It was cold, hard, and came down the entire game. Melanee said her team played pretty good, but they didn't score. The other team (Lees McRae, what kind of a name for a college is that?) made all their shots and opportunities...so the score was 5-0. It was 4-0 at half time. So Mel's team played much better in the second half. Nationals start on Thursday. SVU is the #1 seed in the tournament! Tomorrow is Melanee's 18th birthday. They wont get home until 2 in the morning.....but tomorrow, her birthday, is the only day she has to go to class this week. Then they have a 14 hour drive to Northern Vermont (cold). I am so excited for her!

Sacramento Temple
Scott and I went to the Sacramento Temple today with our friends the Chelsons. It was a beautiful day in every way. Here are some pictures. (notice the wild turkeys!) We went by TONS of places Melanee and I have been to and driven by during our soccer travels to Sacramento. I couldn't believe how CLOSE the distribution center is to the best soccer store EVER. The Chelsons are AWESOME and fun. We saw the Lugos at the temple, that was cool. They even put the closed captioning on for me. It was great. We drove back to Chico where we saw a wreck blocking the whole freeway. That made the Chelsons late for choir rehersal at stake conference. At stake conference tonight we were told that we are getting a new stake presidency tomorrow. Then we went to Big Als with some old, good friends. When I woke up this morning, I really didn't know what I was going to do today! It turned out to be a great day.

NEW COLORS
When I began this blog I picked Navy and Columbia blue (PV colors). Well, to honor Melanee's team for making it all the way to NATIONALS, I have changed my blog colors to Green, Black, and White. GO KNIGHTS!

Some NEW SVU Soccer Pictures! Yay!

Here are a few of the pictures Melanee sent me today. First she called and asked me to stop trying to black mail her. Then she added that she "hate"s me for posting the other pictures. Then an hour or so later she called to tell me she sent these! So I guess blackmailing does work and I apologize to those of you who were enjoying the old pictures.

they won again
melanee's team had a game today. they won 2-0. melanee scored a goal. she said she shot from the top of the box with her left foot and it went in.
she said that the other team's goalie was AMAZING, so it was only 2-0....they took a lot more shots than that, but some hit the cross bar, went over, to the side, or the goalie made great stops.

Nationals
Well, it looks like Melanee's team is GOING TO NATIONALS. I really want to go...but I need more DETAILS. Where will I stay? How long will I be gone? Who will work for me, who will coach my team for me, who will watch my kids for me, who will pay for me (just kidding), but REALLY, can we afford it????????
I am so excited for them, even if I don't get to go, it is neat for them. (Is "neat" even a word people even use anymore?) They have only played one game at a time all season long. Like, drive 5 hours, play a game, drive 5 hours back!
Well, as you may know...I LOVE soccer tournaments. I love that the teams get to play 2 (sometimes 3 (St. Mary's, oh yeah)) games a day and by the end of the weekend....the champion is decided. It looks like nationals will start on a Thursday and end on a Saturday. There will only be one game each day. 8 teams. 1 Champion....all they have to do is win 3 games in a ROW. And last time I checked, they were ranked #1 in the USCAA division, so I KNOW THEY CAN DO IT!
