So well these are the highlights of my 2012. Or rather the last month of 2012.

And while I tell you that hey I don't have to write it all down cuz they're safe in my heart I actually mean I'm so lazy but awfully good with cheesy lines that make you go awwww :')

In other news. I've taken up yoga. I mean yknow what they say bout yoga ;)

So brand new year eh! 2013. ok pardon my complete lack of coherence and structure my mind is all over. Quite like an..explosion of episodic reruns of 2012 and the year before. Cuz well like I said before well not here atleast somewhere or to someone - it all just feels like one awfully long year after awhile.

Well January's gonna be a good month.

x

why hello there 2013

Wrapped up 2012 with a family vacation to beautiful BEAUTIFUL Krabi. The days were real chill - long walks on white sands, good bargains at the shops & beachfront oil massages. $4 manicures & complimentary cake & tea in the evenings what more can you ask for. Guess what was my best buy that I preciously brought back? A pineapple! Don't judge; nothing like an authentic Thai pineapple.

August was a real honeymoon period for me that I now wish I had treaured more. Had a mini getaway to Port Stephens to chill by the bay and check out dolphins in the wild for the first time. The Tassie girl popped by in September and we had a blast together! Pancakes for breakfast, Max Brenner's for lunch, froyo for afternoon tea and churros for dinner. Maaan we seriously ate our hearts out. A trip down to the zoo by ferry to meet the oh so cute seals and shopping for matching Tweety tees. Always so nice to have someone over, isn't it? Just saying :)

Spent the rest of the month working on my last psych report (for life), and somehow managed to pull off rush hour 4 by submitting minutes before deadline. Packed my bags that evening and found myself in ma sunny island the very next day :) Satisfied my local cravings at Chomp Chomp the first night I was back and Song of India took care of my longing for good Indian food the next day. Indonesian fine dining at MBS mid-week (SO GOOD), afternoon coffee & dessert adventures with the favourites and a good ol' movie date.

Also childhood buddy's 21st birthday dinner at Grand Hyatt with the fam, it's a pity I couldn't be around for the partay though :( We finally had Nandy's birthday surprise, which also happened to be a much needed catch up sesh with the idiots. But the best part was being hooked onto a pulley and flying across Sentosa in tandem. Literally. Flying. So we painted our faces and walked around the beach looking like warriors just cuz we conquered the Flying Fox. In the process we successfully managed to attract some really strange stares, I wonder why.

Scooted back to Syd (not being weird here, I actually flew Scoot airline) last weekend in time to celebrate the roomie's birthday. That was the best proper celebration we've had in the crib so far, thanks to the public holiday! But that was the end of all fun and games for poor lil d. Mid sems in two days, and finals in a month but it's pouring outside and I'm finding reasons to keep me away from the bed. I prolly should revisit anatomy cuz I realised I've got an hour less to study, thanks to daylight saving.

Second day into the new sem and I somehow managed to fill up the To-Dos column in my planner by the end of the day, amazing. Walking to my faraway lecture halls in the cold = not so cool anymore.

Funny how I said in the last post bout feeling contented bout having a proper birthday celebration back home, when a week from then I found myself being blindfolded in a dodgy alley in Tanjong Pagar and guided aimlessly to a picture perfect sight of familiar faces in colour coordinated outfits, yelling "SURPRISE" (or was it happy birthday??) Evidently brain was going through a whirlpool of emotions to remember the deets, but the mind took a mental snap of the moment.

And you thought the surprise stops there. Ha ha. Lovely presents & amazing company that night :') And to the one who pulled this off behind my back and made a night like that possible, two words. Thank you ♥ Couldn't have asked for a more memorable birthday.

In between we did more food hopping and watched superhero movies. I think I had cake everyday for tea. SO MUCH CAKE. Wait something just moved in me - oh it was just my love handles growing. Last Monday was awsm: Holland V + first manicure ever + Sentosa + Harry Potter exhibition, so worth the day off! :) The rest of the week soon fell into a routine which went like swimming, playtime, park, playtime. But the lil cuzzie is far too adorable to say no to, so I danced to her tunes anyway.

I'm watching the ink levels of the cartridge die a slow death as I print 56 pages of notes for tomorrow's prac. Can't wait to get into bed after finally dumping out the old sheets that I hadn't changed for bout 2 months. And I got down to changing them today cause last night I imagined bed bugs crawling on my skin.

twentyfour cupcakes ♥

That there, would be my pretty lil super duper cutesy cupcake tower which was the masterpiece of my belated birthday celebration over the weekend. But the BBQ was so good with yummy entrees and sides, wayyy too much food though - covered almost all kinds of meat and seafood I can think of. Realised birthdays are never the same without family around :') Finally feeling like I'm 20!! Contented.

Backtrackinggg, impromptu trip to Lanka within a few hours of touchdown last Sunday morning to visit the grandmother. Travelled to and fro all day - hospital home hospital home, body clock maximally warped. You know what you're studying at school is worth it when the doctor discusses the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves and you know exactly what he's talking bout.

Secretly wish the department takes its own sweet time to mark the exam scripts. Can be quite painstaking refreshing the same page first thing every morning and waiting as it takes forever to load. Speaking of exams, guess who smartly lost the edward monkton pencil case which was just about becoming the latest buzz in the campus :o Gratefully replaced though, now to go stationery shopping!! :)

I'm starting to feel little globules of fat lining the vessels with every new place I tick off my food list. So it's been a real party in the tummy - everything from Ya Kun to Chomp Chomp and Marche to Samy's Curry (which gave me a diarrhea that lasted a day ahem but nevermind that!!) First time trying custard bun and rojak cause apparently you need to have had rojak else you aren't singaporean or something like that.

Days like today remind me why home is so precious - favourite company + awesome food :') Conversations bout everything and nothing, silly fights and laughing the next minute. Waited the longest time ever to come home, and it's almost 2 weeks down already??? WHAT IS THIS :( :( :( Nevertheless, looking forward to the rest of July ♥

days like these.
Waking up to the sunshine streaming through my blinds, true enough I did feel pretty crap bout sleeping through three alarms and missing my prac in the morning but the day got better when I heard it was a "waste of time" and "lucky you didn't come". Putting together random ingredients cause you're in a mood to experiment and coming up with a sandwich too good you'd label it your signature dish. Mini adventure to 7/11 to get milk and apples in specs and bed hair. We Found Love blasting in the hood cause no one's home. I've got arrears from two weeks back to deal with but I guess sometimes we all need to take a step back and appreciate moments like these.

thirty two.
I don't always make my bed, but when I do, I make it pretty damn well :)

This weekend's been a much needed breather. The past week was insane - assessments and assignment submission, not to mention the part when you realise your work from the previous night didnt get saved, hours before deadline.

Adrenaline pumping pumping pumping.

Had an early start to the weekend, got off by noon on Friday and came home to catch up on accumulated housework. Finally found time to cook without anything on my mind. It was a great break, we had pasta and popcorn while watching Glee through the night. Missed Glee.

I love coming home to You've Got A Parcel notices in my mailbox. My cutie ASOS bag made the week a lot more bearable :) Indian grocery shopping + a trip to heaven and back lolol PAPRI CHAAT on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Pillsbury stuffed naans ftwwww :) + Housefull WITH subtitlesss desigirl92 moment.

Mother's Day yesterday ♥ Missed home so much. Skype sesh with the fam that extended through the evening. Five days a week you can plan for the most productive weekend ahead, but when it finally arrives. "What's work? Can I eat it?"

Running errands and XLB hunting today, somehow managed to spend 70 bucks in the process. Don't ask. Exam timetable gets out this weeeeek. Can't wait to be done with this sem and fly home. It's been awhile. A really long while.
