Luke's Toy Story Birthday

Luke decided months ago that he wanted a Woody and Buzz party for his 3rd birthday.  It was so fun planning and decorating for it and I used a lot of his toys that we already had as decorations!  We decided awhile ago to have his party at the pool in Ryan and Susie's neighborhood, because it has a clubhouse and zero entry for the kids, plus it's always been so hot on his birthday that it's hard to have it in our backyard.  So I thought the pool would be perfect - well it was cool and rainy on the morning of the party so we were a little worried, but the rain stopped, the kids swam anyway and we had the entire pool to ourselves because no one else was swimming on a day like that!

We served pizza from "Pizza Planet"!

Luke had lots of fun swimming with all his friends and cousins!

Pizza time!

He got lots of great presents - he was pumped about this BIG Zurg!

He was so stinking cute and so excited about us singing to him and blowing out the candles.  It was precious.
Working on holding up 3 fingers...

Cake time!  He insisted on wanting a piece with Buzz on it and then took exactly 1 bite.
He loved this life-sized Buzz balloon.  Trying hard to hold up 3 fingers!

Just about got it!
It was such a fun day with our big boy!!!

Fun at the Lake!

With both boys finishing up their baseball seasons in July, we had to try to cram all of our vacation fun into the last few weeks before school started.  We got home from Colorado on Sunday night, did some laundry, repacked our bags and headed for the Lake of the Ozarks!  We went down for the weekend with Ryan, Susie, Sam and Brody and then on Sunday when they went home, Mimi and Papa came down and we stayed for a few more days.  The boys had a ton of fun with their cousins and it was a great way to end the summer!!!

They love paddle boating around the cove.
Luke and Brody took a brief ride in the tube with Brian.  They (and we) decided they should be just a tiny bit older for that - haha!  There were some big waves out there!
I've said it before - Rule #1 of boating: Always have Cheez-Its.  And awesome boat hair.

We headed to Franky and Louie's on Friday afternoon.  The kids love playing in the sand and water here, and this year they have pizza by the slice and ice cream!  Even better!

These two!!!
Too much fun today.  We love a good boat nap.

Fishing off the dock!  Can't see the fish very well but it's flopping down there on the dock.

Getting dark and these 5 crazy boys are STILL swimming.
Popsicles in the lake!
Too cool dudes!
I love that they are such good buddies.
We went to a nice cove and did some swimming and playing on the watermat on Saturday.

Another awesome boat nap.  Look at their arms - hahaha!
This boy was loving the water this year.  Nice goggles, bud.

Missed our boat nap on Sunday so by that evening...Luke. Was. Done.
Swimming in the lake with Papa

There's those Cheez-Its again...
Luke kept asking to go back to the sand so we went to Franky and Louie's again on Monday!
These boys are going to need ice cream detox once school starts!
On Tuesday we rented a waverunner and went to a cove so the boys could take turns riding around.  Luke, Mimi, Papa and I hung out in the water while they switched on and off.  Luke even got a turn!  He loved it!

My little stud.

More tubing fun - they tried the tube backwards, too!

Hanging out in the cove by the golf course before we had to go back and pack up to head home.  We had such a fun time!!!  I was glad we got to stay down there for several days.  Always a great time at the lake!
