Limping

Didn't realise how painful it is when one's tendon is pulled. In my case it's the upper tigh left leg.

It was so painful that it was difficult to walk, bend my left leg, hence to wear trousers, wear socks and tying shoelaces. Simple things in life that I take for granted are now so difficult to perform!

Like any good Christian, I cried out to God, ask for forgiveness if this is due to my sin and then ask for divine healing. To God's glory, the pain last time did subside after praying and was able to go back to sleep.

This morning, I did visit the dr and he gave me 2 days of mc.

The other thing which came across my mind is that ...oh..
- what if I lose my leg?
- is the reason why this is happening is because God is preventing me from going to KL tonite - maybe plane will crash?
- now I know how it feels like to be handicapped bodily, at least to some degree.

it reminds me also of how when one seemingly small part of our body is not working, it greatly affects the whole body. - so now the better parts of my body takes the weight or strain of the weight of my whole body, etc.

it's like what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 12 about the Body of Christ! Remember church, we are the body, so learn to care for each part for if one part suffers, the rest suffers too!

I wonder how many local churches are not performing well today coz some or many parts are suffering due to neglect or being ill-treated, hence deglorifying God.

Lord, may your church, your bride learn to care for all the parts of her body well so that she can be the radiant bride, a beacon of light in the world filled with darkness.

So that instead of limping in this world and be a poor witness for you, she will be walking uprightly, elegantly and steadfastly for Your Glory!

Tired

Wow it's been a while that I felt tired. Must be the spillover of insufficient rest from last week. I've been tired since Monday! Ok...I should go to sleep.

Sleep, sleep, God's way of restoring us. Lord, please put me into a deep pleasant sleep so that I may be restored tomorrow and for the rest of the week for your glory!

lying back and ah just watching and others

Hmm...today at swimming, for the first time, since none of the atheletes that i usually take were there, i had the luxury of just taking it easy, put my arms around the inner pool wall and just lean back, relax, looked at the sky and observed to see how the other volunteers coach their kid/kids assigned to them.

All the volunteers were great but one in particular struck me. Was impressed in how one of them taught the good value of sharing with others coz the kid did not want to share playing ball with others. And was also encouraged to see how well the younger volunteers took care of the kids.

Other interesting things that happened to me this week are :-
- had a great conversation with someone the other day who is a member of the True Jesus Church. The 3 distinctiveness of the church is that they believe in a) full water immersion for baptism b) all believers should be able to speak in tongues, if you don't hv it at the moment, pray and ask and in due time God will provide it and c) sabbath is fri eve to sat eve, therefore, church should be on that day, and they have theirs on sat eve.

- attended a Christian singles gathering at Raffles Terrace - had group making a lantern session and then walk around with our own lanterns. met quite a lot of singles tonite from various churches. also learnt about 3 active Christian single groups in Singapore ie http://www.beulah.sg/ , agape something and beatitudes.

Imagine a movie based on job

I'm currently reading job and loving it! Every morning I look forward to reading another chapter or chapters of job. Certain verses would jump up on me and I would record them down in my booklet under my 'job verses of the day' title.

Then just now i think some time after work...it hit me! Why not make a movie on job? I think it will work! But it will be more of those kind of movies with great dialogue one lah no action...but actually got lah...in the beginning and also can have dramatisation of the descriptions in the dialogue in what job and his friends say.

I think the dialogue can be really gripping. Remember the movie or movies since it has a sequel..ok the movie is before sunrise...remember? the whole movie is just one seamless ongoing dialogue between ethan hawke and julie delpy. so likewise imagine...the really ongoing dialogue between job and his friends....it will be really cool! But more importantly to share God's Word in movie form and to be used by it to touch people's lives!

If God were to give me the gifts of a director...oh how i wish i can produce many many christian movies based on the books of the bible, christian heroes - both sung and unsung ones over the centuries (singers, theologians, artists, politician, athelete etc etc). On doctrines, on issues, on debates...i think i would have so much work cut out for me that i probably need several lifes to cover everything or a wide variety of things in quantity.

pray lah...that God will raise a talented Christian director and a rich Christian man (who will fun the productions) to produce such movies or who will spark such movies which are of high quality that will pave the way for many more down the years or even centuries.

Is swaying enough to make us think of God?

For those in Singapore, I'm sure you have experienced 2 days of the effects of the earthquake that hit Indonesia recently.

The effects are really noticeable and felt if one is in a building esp tall ones. My body was like swaying back and forth, which when i first realised it, thought that's strange..then you realise it's earthquake! Then I felt a bit nauseatic (is there such a word?). Then I wondered....what if the building collapse...for some strange reason...part of me wish it happened so that life will be interesting...i know...just saying lah. But then it would jolt people to think about life after death and God hopefully!

Yes think about God! So is a little swaying enough to make people think of You, Almighty God?

I hope some did and Lord may you use that to initiate them on a journey of knowing and finding you and have a reconciled relationship with you through Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. :)

Why do i understand it now?

Have u ever had this experience whereby you read something some time ago and when you read it now, u seem to understand it so much better now! It's as if you never read it before and it's so clear now!

I guess I didn't understand then - could be due to several reasons like:-

1) i have a preconceived notion ("pn") of what it is about so i read it with my pn imposed upon it, so i dont' really listen to the author though I'm reading him
2) i don't agree or feel i have a better understanding than the author
3) my mind was not working then
4) perhaps mind was still immature to understand
5) perhaps now with more experience or have gone through the same thing as the author, I now understand him so much more.

Well, better late then never!

Surprised by KH

Today i visited ch and was pleasantly surprised by Kh.

Prior to going, the reputation that I heard about ch has not been good. Nevertheless, I went with an open mind.

And I was pleasently surprised by how good and biblical the sermon was! No wonder the LORD is blessing his ministry and growing His church with them.

Only thing I had a quibble with was the slain with the spirit stuff and perhaps a bit more s.i.t than i expected.

But seriously go check out their website and listen to the sermon on mount - Matthew 7 when they upload it. One of the best sermons I've heard this year for sure!
