Valentine's Day Card with Meljens image

Hi Dreamers!
Are you ready to see some Valentine's Day inspiration???  I have several cards for you today.  The cards are among the 30 that I made for the From The Heart Card Drive--hosted by the lovely Winter.  See the details of the card drive on her blog here.  I used a Meljens Design digital image on this batch of the cards.  Here is a photo of the whole 30 cards.

Let's take a look at this Cute love bunny with a White on White background.

The image was printed out with my computer and colored with Copic Markers.  I added a second layer of Dry embossed White CS.

Here is another version of the same image.

I added a bit more color with this version by adding a layer of pink CS.

And, here, I added some pretty pink Heart paper and some red CS.

The cards have all been sent out to Winter.  She will send them off to Hospitalized Children.  They will be delivered on Valentine's Day.  Isn't that nice!!??  Just sending a little love.  And, for all you Blockheads fans, they are one of the sponsors of the card drive and are offering two stamps sets!!

How about a few Challenges for my Bunny Love Valentine's Day cards:

Aud Sentiments: Bingo-You, embossing, flowers
Crafty Ribbons: love, romance
Craft us Crazy: love or the color red

Tea Pot and Cup with Tissue Paper

Hi Dreamers!
I spent the whole day cleaning my house yesterday.  Still have to do the upstairs, but now the downstairs is nice and clean.  Gave my new vacuum cleaner (Riccar -made in the USA) a good workout!  Last night I had some time to make these fun Tea themed cards.  I used stamps from the Relax A Bit Stamp set from Mark's Finest/Heinrich.   Take a look at the first card.  It is a smaller card measuring 4 x 4 1/4".

To create this soft and muted effect:

  • Stamp the tea pot on white CS with Black dye ink.
  • Color the image with Copic Markers.  Don't worry about shading.  Just use  darker colors
  • Stamp the tea pot again on white Tissue Paper.
  • Line up the image exactly over the colored image.
  • The colors on the first image will show through the tissue paper.

  • Wrap the tissue paper around the White CS and glue
  • Layer onto blue CS and onto a Pink base
  • Stamp this fun sentiment on the inside (also in the Relax a bit stamp set)

The Second card is made the same way.

  • This time I glued the tissue to the colored image and then cut out both at the same time.

  • I used a sketch from 365 Cards for this layout.  I dropped the top part of the sketch to the bottom.

  • This sentiment is from My Favorite Things

  • I used the same Copic Markers to color the cup

And, now a few fun challenges for my Tea Themed cards with Tissue

Mark's Finest: use tissue paper
Simon Says Stamp: something new---I used two new stamp sets
365 Cards: sketch day 305
By the Cute and Girly: cute and girly
Cute Card Thursday: something new--stamps

So, has everyone recuperated from the Holidays?  I am trying to play catch up a bit now.  I would like to make some changes for the new year.  Not sure what these changes might be--yet.  Maybe trying to sell my cards at shows, teaching ?? Not sure, but I like change.  I just feel like I need a change.  I will have to put my thinking cap on and come up with something.  LOL  What do you have planned for the new year?  Well, have  a great day!  Love ya.

Today, I am channeling cuteness.......I wanted to make a cute Christmas card and so I printed out a few Meljens images.  I thought these birds were so sweet.

The images is colored with Copic Markers.  The DP is from K & Company.

The Label and the circles are die cut with  Spellbinders dies and the scallop square is a Sizzix die.

My Top Tip Tuesday Tip is to use Stickles to make a glittery frame around the image.

This will go in my Christmas Card basket.  I know I keep saying this, "Now I need to start mailing the cards"  !!  I did go to the Post Office today and buy stamps.  So, I have no excuses now.  Maybe I will get started on that tomorrow.

Missing You Wintry Owl

Hi Dreamers!
I have some new digis and the images are so cute I just had to print some out.  I combined two images from Meljens Designs.  I find it easy to combine images in Word.  I just "Insert" them and then I can change the size and move them around.  That is what I did for this card.  Here is my Missing You Owl.

To Make this card:
  • "Insert" the sentiment into a blank Word Document, and then the main image under the sentiment.
  • I fussed with the re-sizing a bit and centered the sentiment.
  • Print out on Neenah CS.

This could be an all occasion card to send in the winter months,or would make a nice Christmas card with an appropriate sentiment inside.  Isn't this image just so sweet!?  I am a bit of an owl fan.

A few fun Challenges for my "Missing You Owl" card:
Meljens Digital Stamps: missing you
Through the craft room door: anything goes #41
Jingle Belles rock: use a creature
ABC Christmas: U is up to you
ABC Challenge: z is for zoo-use an animal
Fab and Funky: animals

I will be posting my messy desk top as soon as I am finished with this post!  ---You know WOYWW with the Stamping Ground.  So be right back with that!!  I hope you are having a great day.  Today is my health and beauty day---I am going to get an one hour massage---Oh, heaven.  So I should be all relaxed and happy for the rest of the week.    LOL  Love ya.
