May your dragons be few Challenge #55 @ TSC

 

 

Hello friends!

This week's challenge at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner is #55 Anything Goes But A Card.

My anything is a gift bag. 

I chose an image from our sponsor MelJen Design. This digi  is called Chinese Dragon.

Yaaaaaa! My first dragon image to share! That only took over a year. Must mean fairies are soon to follow. I love fantasy and thought the majority of my creations would have dragon and fairy images on them. What can I say...I get distracted easily because there are so many great digi images out there. I love digis! I've been eyeing my wood mounted stamps this week and wondered if most of them will ever see ink again. I think 75% of them have never been inked! Sad, sad, sad.

Okay back to the gift bag...I used that wonderful Graphic 45 paper called Bird Song. The tag reads, May your dreams come true and your dragons be few. How awesome is that? That sentiment is from a retired SU set. Had it for years and it finally got some love!

I'm writing this up on Sunday night and it's already an hour and a half past my 11:00 bedtime. Those grandbabies like to wake up early! They are such a joy, and so full of energy.If I want to keep up with them I should be in bed by ten! Day 4 with them, and everything is going amazingly well.The kids are thriving and I'm only slightly sleep deprived. My daughter called me from Indo this morning and I told her how great the kids have been. She told me she had been praying for that. I said thank you, I think we all have...and please don't stop!

Empty Tomb Challenge # 54 @TSC

 

 

 

Hello friends! It`s time for a new challenge at Tammy`s Scrapin`Corner.

This week`s sponsor is Eureka! Stamps.

And this week`s challenge is #54 Easter.
I've chosen two images from Eureka...Empty tomb, and a scripture from Luke 24:5-6
 "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He is risen!"
Yes, Hallelujah! Christ is risen!
This is the first image I've colored that didn't have eyes. I was delighted with how it turned out. I had no idea what I was doing when I colored the sunrise, and just "winged" it.
When sharing this card with my husband, I told him to pick it up and look on the inside too! He said, "why? Is it the inside of the tomb?" I said," No! Then it would be empty!
I have no idea what the die cut is that I used on the inside. I upcycled it from a paper order I got in the mail,it was part of the label. I love it though so if you know what it is let me know.

The next two weeks should be very interesting and busy for me and hubby. We're going to be looking after two of the grandchildren for fourteen days while my daughter,Nerissa and her husband visit Indonesia.

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing the card I made for the newest challenge #53, at Tammy's Scrapin' Corner.

Our theme this week is- Add A Shamrock- Our sponsors are SK Digis, and Milk Coffee.

I've chosen a Milk Coffee image to use called Madeline with retro outfit.

I had a lot of fun coloring her hair!

I was going for the "simple and clean" look for this card so I decided on mostly white papers. I kept thinking Just KISS it!(Keep It Simple Sweetie)but after adding all the St. Patrick's Day embellishments I'm not quite sure I achieved that. I don't know what happened with my background dots but it simply didn't turn out how I expected it would. What do you do when things don't turn out the way you had hoped? Add Stickles of course!

Pirate Turtle Challenge#52 @TSC

Avast me hearties! I'm here to share the card I made for Challenge #52-Red and Green plus a Ribbon for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner. Our Sponsor this week is QKR Stampede. I used their fabulous digi called Pirate Turtle.

I had so many ideas for this project but a 6x6 card just wasn't a big enough canvas for what I had envisioned. I did manage to add as much detail as I could though. The beach/waves border was something I made years ago for a scrapbooking page that never got made. It was a 12" border that I cut it in half to fit on the card. The little map was cut from a sheet of 7 Gypsies paper. I crumpled it up and burnt the edges. I chose the other papers from a Glitz Joyeux Noel 6x6 paper pack. That's a very versatile pack of paper. I added tiny shells and "beach sand" to the glass bottle. The pirate themed buttons were perfect except for the color of the pirate ship. It was originally blue but I used acrylic paint to transform it. I heat embossed the papers and port hole with UTEE to give it a watery look.

The sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie's Pirate Sayings.

This was such a fun image to color and I was thrilled with how amphibian looking the turtle's skin colored up.
