I've updated my birthday/Christmas wishlist, and one of the items that I put on there is "psychology books". I realize this is a little vague, so I thought I'd clarify on here.
First of all, I'm a giant nerd and I absolutely love my major. I don't know how many of you know this, but I'm planning on getting my Master's degree in a year or two, and potentially a Psy. D after that. That being said, I love reading books on the subject, but I unfortunately only have books that have been assigned for classes, some of which are just rented for the semester. I obviously don't expect to get all of these, but I would love to get some contributions to my collection.
- The Principles of Psychology by William James
- Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, volume 5 (aka DSM-V)
- A Brief History of Modern Psychology by Ludy T. Benjamin, Jr.
- Yes Please by Amy Poehler (not a psychology book, but I just really want it anyways)
- An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sacks
- The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks
- The Lucifer Effect by Philip Zimbardo
- Anything on sleep psychology, adolescent development, or paradigms.
