you’re my best friend…

Life blesses you every once and a while with a best friend. Before I met Joe, I met Katrina. Katrina is my best friend. I met her at a point in my life where I was coming back from a very bad place. Some of you know that I was inactive for a few years and slowly, I lost myself. I was blessed with the opportunity to return and become who I am today and have a much clearer perspective of myself. Katrina helped me do this. She was such a sweet, supportive, loving, fun, caring, hilarious friend and I love her whole heartedly.

When we met, she was away from her home, Australia, nannying for a family here in Aurora. She was in the singles ward with me but we met at a members house who was having a get together. We just hit it off. We were inseparable for her time here.

The last time I saw her was at our wedding. She had flown all the way from Australia just to come back for my wedding. What a GAL! So, our wedding was the last time I saw her. When I found out she was going to be visiting the US for a month, I was ecstatic! She would be in Denver for 2 days and she would be staying with ME! I’ll admit, I was a little nervous. It had been 5 years, could we just be normal again??? And surprise, surprise, we picked up right where we left off. As if we had not seen each other for just two weeks. It was AWESOME!

An added bonus to her visiting (as if anything could possibly make a visit from her better!), her lovely husband Josh came with her. Joe and I just had a great time with the two of them! Josh is a wonderful guy and Katrina is very blessed to have him for her eternal companion. As is Josh! They make a beautiful, amazing, wonderful, funny couple. They just go so well together. I knew Katrina would end up with a great guy just like mine! We’re like, almost the same person! How could we marry someone the other wouldn’t approve of??

Although our time was short, we had a great time. We drove to Red Rocks in the snow, (thanks Joe for driving!), drank gas station hot chocolate together,  drove around the Temple, saw her nanny family, visited Deseret Book store, did a little shopping and ate Taco Bell!

Katrina, I will forever cherish your visit to Colorado and I CANNOT wait to make a trip to Australia to see your home. We love you both and are so grateful for your friendship.

THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!

My little sister Jessica and her beautiful baby girl Lily came for a visit just before Thanksgiving.

Lily and Travis are a month apart. It was fun to finally see them together.

Lily likes to grab things with her feet. It was pretty funny.

We did a trip to the zoo while they were here and we had a blast.

This is one of my favorites! So sweet!

tubby time

Trav is finally sitting up well enough to take a tubby with Enoch. This is a tremendous help because I can bathe them at the same time and just be done!

They love tubby time. Trav even cries when I take him out now. They have a blast! Oct - Nov 2009 296 Oct - Nov 2009 298 Oct - Nov 2009 299 Oct - Nov 2009 291

snow

Oct - Nov 2009 157

Believe it or not, winter is Enoch’s favorite time of year. He adores the snow. I have no idea where he got this from because Joe and I are both sun shine and beach people. I’m sure Enoch would love those as well  but, the snow holds a special place in Enoch’s heart.

Oct - Nov 2009 009We had about 18 inches a month or two ago and Enoch was chomping at the bit to go out and play.   Oct - Nov 2009 015 Oct - Nov 2009 046 Oct - Nov 2009 088These are my two favorite pictures. Enoch loving the snow and Trav just so content to sit and watch his big brother.  Oct - Nov 2009 187  Oct - Nov 2009 191 Oct - Nov 2009 194

Enoch got a little plump in the face during this month – he hit a growth spurt, was eating CONSTANTLY, all day long and it finally broke,

he has now grown a couple of inches so his face is a little thinner looking.  Its insane what they go through in these fresh years!Oct - Nov 2009 200

This last picture is for my big sis Alana, CHUBBY cheeks to munch on! :D  Oct - Nov 2009 201

time to play catch up

You will have to bear with me. This blog is sort of my version of scrapbooking and I’m a few months behind. I’m going to attempt to catch up as much as I can all in one day.

So here goes!

Halloween

Travis was a hotdog and I was the hotdog vendor. There are no pictures of me but thats ok, I only wore a mustache to make myself look different. Oct - Nov 2009 230

This is Enoch about 20 minutes before the trunk or treat at church. Just a slight melt down. Who doesn’t have a kid who does this? Thats what I thought.

Enoch took this picture of us. :D

Oct - Nov 2009 240

This is Enoch with his cousins Rawley and Brody. Brody is spiderman and Rawley is snake eyes. Enoch was roaring the whole time.
