Life blesses you every once and a while with a best friend. Before I met Joe, I met Katrina. Katrina is my best friend. I met her at a point in my life where I was coming back from a very bad place. Some of you know that I was inactive for a few years and slowly, I lost myself. I was blessed with the opportunity to return and become who I am today and have a much clearer perspective of myself. Katrina helped me do this. She was such a sweet, supportive, loving, fun, caring, hilarious friend and I love her whole heartedly.
When we met, she was away from her home, Australia, nannying for a family here in Aurora. She was in the singles ward with me but we met at a members house who was having a get together. We just hit it off. We were inseparable for her time here.
The last time I saw her was at our wedding. She had flown all the way from Australia just to come back for my wedding. What a GAL! So, our wedding was the last time I saw her. When I found out she was going to be visiting the US for a month, I was ecstatic! She would be in Denver for 2 days and she would be staying with ME! I’ll admit, I was a little nervous. It had been 5 years, could we just be normal again??? And surprise, surprise, we picked up right where we left off. As if we had not seen each other for just two weeks. It was AWESOME!
An added bonus to her visiting (as if anything could possibly make a visit from her better!), her lovely husband Josh came with her. Joe and I just had a great time with the two of them! Josh is a wonderful guy and Katrina is very blessed to have him for her eternal companion. As is Josh! They make a beautiful, amazing, wonderful, funny couple. They just go so well together. I knew Katrina would end up with a great guy just like mine! We’re like, almost the same person! How could we marry someone the other wouldn’t approve of??
Although our time was short, we had a great time. We drove to Red Rocks in the snow, (thanks Joe for driving!), drank gas station hot chocolate together, drove around the Temple, saw her nanny family, visited Deseret Book store, did a little shopping and ate Taco Bell!
Katrina, I will forever cherish your visit to Colorado and I CANNOT wait to make a trip to Australia to see your home. We love you both and are so grateful for your friendship.
THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!
