We're Having A...

...BOY!

We just got back from our ultrasound and got the happy news that Enoch will have a baby brother! He's healthy and happy. He didn't like being pushed on during the ultrasound so he moved a lot but he looks a lot like Enoch. We're very excited! Enoch was there for the ultrasound as well and was super excited to see his brother! :D Here are some snapshots!

Smiling!

Thumbs Up!

This is the "boy parts" shot. Essentially, you are looking at his butt and leg, and his little boy parts are in the middle. Its not the best shot but we saw "IT" during the ultrasound, so, there is NO doubt that this is a boy. :o)

The nurse gave this photo to Enoch, so this is Enoch's first picture of his brother.

A foot!

And a great little shot of his face.

According to the ultrasound, he's healthy! YAH! He measures a week ahead so that's great. He weighs 1 pound, 2 oz right now, the tech said that was awesome. Everything is in place and where it's supposed to be. I will most likely post a baby bump picture later tonight or sometime tomorrow.
Until then, enjoy the photos!!! :D

#6 & #7

So I missed my post yesterday, so I will just do both today.

I Am Thankful For:
Modern Technology

10 years ago I was hand writing letters to friends just to keep in touch! And yes, hand written letters are much more personal than an e-mail because you put a lot more effort into it but when letters were the only communication? Long distance call rates were still a little pricey so that wasn't much of an option either. I really do appreciate modern technology, Facebook has put me in touch with people I haven't seen or spoken to in YEARS, e-mails make communication for even CHURCH much easier, I can get a hold of just about anyone through e-mail. And my goodness, CELL PHONES! Hello! They have come a long way since I got my first phone at 16! I didn't get a phone that could text until I was 17, and listen up TEENS, I paid for my own phone from the get go. If I wanted one, I paid for it. So I've been texting for 7 years!

Are there downfalls from having so much technology? Of course, there are always pros and cons to just about anything. We should always be cautious and safe. Don't put out personal information if you don't want it abused. Stay safe and keep away from nosy people! Hehe.

I Am Thankful For:
The Temple

I love going to the Temple. One of my favorite Primary songs is "I Love to See The Temple". It always has been, even since I was in Primary! I'm grateful that we live so close to the Temple here in Colorado. When I lived in Montana, it was a 5 hour trip, either way, to get to a Temple. We had a few options but still had to travel far. Idaho Falls, a Temple in Canada (can't remember which one???) and Billings. All were 5 hours away. BUMMER! I even love visiting the book store. It's just so peaceful and comforting to go. Even walking the grounds of the Temple is comforting.

I Am Thankful For:
The Gospel

I have been so blessed to have the gospel in my life. I learn something new every week and hope I continue to learn this Gospel. It is a beautiful blessing in my life and I am so thankful to have a husband who has such a great knowledge and understanding of it as well and the patience to explain things to me that I don't quite understand.

By living the Gospel, I am a much happier person and its comforting to know that I will be with my family forever. And I know that My Heavenly Father knows and loves me.

I Am Thankful For:
Family

Family is a wonderul thing. They are the people you can count on the most. People that are there for you in times of need and in times of joy. I love my family dearly. They are what matters most to me in this life. And sometimes one is lucky enough to be able to expand that family. This is an area that I have been very blessed in my life. I have friends who have become family and I have inlaws who are amazing and kind and just wonderful to me. They love and respect me and never judge me. I am so Thankful for my Family. And it is so comforting to know that Families can be Together Forever.

#2

I am Thankful for: Enoch.

He has been such a wonderful blessing in our lives, since the day he was born. We had it a little rough when he was born but he was such a strong little man, it was impressive. He helped me appreciate the small things in life. Never take anything for granted because tomorrow, it may be gone. Having a child definitely makes you grow up really quick, whether you think you're ready for a baby or not.

I'm thankful for his strong, sweet spirit, his smile, his laugh, his personality, his compassion, his tenderness, even his crazy rowdiness. He is such an entertaining little person and I just can't see my life without him. He has taught me many amazing things as a Mother and I couldn't be more thankful.

Enoch, I love you.

Things to be Thankful For...

A friend from my old singles ward (Seth!), has been listing things that he's thankful for from day 1 of November. I would LOVE to be able to write it out everyday but I find I forget about my blog sometimes. SO - my effort this week is to list, from now until Thanksgiving, the things that I am Thankful for.

Starting today with #1:

I am thankful for my Husband Joe. Without him, I have no idea where I would be or what I would be doing but I doubt I would be so happy with my life if he weren't here with me. He has wonderful and amazing talents. He is a great artist, the way his mind works is amazing. He is such an awesome father, he is so patient, kind, loving and understanding with Enoch. He knows so much about the Gospel it just leaves me awestruck. He has a great gift with music, singing and instruments. Just the fact that he gets up for work every single day without complaint, to me that is a HUGE talent. He makes me laugh even when I'm crying. I used to write poetry a lot when I was a teenager and in one specific poem, I wrote about how I wanted to find someone who would always be there to catch my tears and that, from the day we met, has always been Joe.
He understands me in a way that no one ever will, he knows me almost as well as my Heavenly Father does and he constantly loves, adores and cares for me.

Joe - I love you Sweetie. I only hope I can do for you half of what you've done for me.

(I still love him, even when he has a mullet!!!)

The BATHROOM!

Last year for Christmas, as a gift from everyone to Tutu & Papa (joe's grandparents), we all went in on remodeling their bathroom. It was COMPLETELY out of date and needed some TLC....badly. As shown below (during demolition).

After 2 weeks of work, Joe finished a great bathroom. I think we all were shocked and amazed that the bathroom could look so good. Joe did a wonderful job with everything. Its just awesome!

The shower head moves up and down for height convenience.

He also re-textured the walls. Venician (sp?) Plaster!

....Coming soon - The new Bay window is installed and Joe Trims it Out!

Photo Shoot with Will Brawn

We had our family photos taken with Will Brawn this year. Normally, we just set up a tripod and put the camera on a timer and hope for the best but not this time! I absolutely love these photos and am so excited to have had Will take these for us. Thanks Will!

Halloween with Joe

Close friends of Joe know that he is a HUGE fan of AC/DC. He normally hates dressing up for Halloween but I suggested Angus Young this year and he was all for it. We hit up Savers about an hour before the trunk or treat and found the perfect items to make his costume a hit. He swore me to silence, I wasn't allowed to tell anyone who he was and people had to guess. He honestly was shocked at how many people knew who he was but I also think he was shocked at just WHO knew Angus Young. It was a fun night for Joe.
SO - Friday night at the Trunk-Or-Treat, there was some contreversy over whether or not Angus Young had horns, (for the people who knew who Angus Young was) and here is your proof...=)

Below are just a few of Joe's best impressions. =) He was just happy to be able to hold his guitar all night.

Halloween with Enoch

Enoch was Master Yoda this year. The costume was just simple and it was on sale at Toys R Us! YES! I'm a huge fan of Star Wars...Joe is a fan but not like me. I've got them all memorized, call me a nerd, it's okay. I'll admit it! So we found a green lightsaber and Enoch's costume was complete. :D Here are just a few pics.

18 Weeks - Nausea Managed

18 weeks...wow. Most of the time it doesn't feel like I'm that far along until another week rolls by and then I realize, wow, I'm almost to 20 weeks! Jeez. Time flies. Baby Doxey is now 5 & 1/2 inches in length - big enough to cradle in your hand. :D My book says that feeling the baby move happens around now but I've been feeling movement since 11 weeks. The bones have begun to harden, the ears will make their final move to their proper position, the ears also now stand out from the head, and by now the fingertips and toes have pads on them.

My heart now has to work 40 - 50 percent harder to support the pregnancy, Yikes! The book says I should be fine, a healthy heart can handle it! (hope my heart is healthy!)

I have begun to manage the nausea. I take one of my pills (meds from my dr) in the morning and that helps me function throughout the day. Finally! So I'm hoping to ween myself off of them slowly so that I won't be puking anymore. Yah. That would be so nice. I did have a brief meeting with the porcelain god this morning but felt wonderful afterwards.

Enoch kisses my tummy on a daily basis. He still seems very enthusiastic about this baby coming. Joe and I ask him a few times a week, are you excited to meet your baby brother or sister? The answer is always yes.

Our 20 week ultra sound will be on November 25th, I'm really excited and anxious. Will it be another boy or a little girl? The thought of a girl frightens me a little bit...I'm so used to how little boys function and I just don't know if I could handle the mood swings of a girl along with my own. I know Enoch would adore a little sister but a boy would be a buddy in crime for him. A girl also means a whole new wardrobe, ah! The Lord will bless us with whatever he knows we need and can handle.

The appetite has picked up and I eat anything and crave anything that is edible. Its so nice to have an appetite back. For a while the whole, nothing sounds good, was just not sitting well with me. Smells are still strong but not quite as bothersome, so thats a nice relief.

Our journey into the land of Two Children continues....
