These are photos of the forms they put up for our foundation...took 1 man all week to get it done and level them and ... everything that you do to get ready for the cement...The top set is from a front view, the bottom left is a side view...I was trying to capture the slope of the land...just to give an idea of how much dirt we will have to bring in to fill the front...

Here is a set of photos of the cement truck and cement pump that was used to pour 37 yards of cement...Can't imagine what they did way back before these huge pumps were created...It took all of 2 hours, 4 cement trucks to get it all poured...

And now here are the huge walls we have on our lot, the foundation...to the right, is the garage area...we have to bring in a LOT of dirt to fill it in, compact down and then pour a cement slab for the garage. It looks like a huge swimming pool...the "cut away" portion is actually where the driveway will go up to...so you can try and imagine a line practically across the front...that's where the dirt will go up too...

It has begun!!

While I was in MN, our excavators began digging out our house...and here are pictures of them pouring the cement for our footings. We've spotted a few kids on the lot biking and playing army, so Michael put up a no trespassing sign...it's a friendly one :) we haven't seen any more kids there lately, especially since all the rebar has gone in and etc. Hopefully our foundation will be poured soon and then it will on to the basement slab. The foundation walls look crazy tall right now, but I was able to figure out some "3D" renditions of our home, and hopefully it will look just right when it's all finished!
