memorial day...

After fishing, we went to friends for a bbq...kiddos played outside on the tramp while the rest of us hung out and chatted...I love hanging out with friends...Headed home where my brothers' came over with their families to help open the pool and then another bbq...I think I way over ate today! It sprinkled off and on through the afternoon...the kids had a blast playing in it...sometimes they came in and played on the wii...but mostly it was a nice afternoon hanging out but the pool :)

up in the rafters :)

Our fireplace finally got in...had some apprehension as to whether or not it was too big for this wall...Tried asking the apollo installer if it would be hard to switch out...he responded with "Ask Juan." It would be nice to speak spanish. He also said, "You neighbor (pointing in the direction of another home being built) they have 3 fireplaces!! You one, nice big house, just one!" ...a&a came over and said they didn't think so.
Here's a photo of Mike, pulling more wire...
He's way up there...
Ted came over and helped...he seemed to have fun hanging out up there too...they pulled most of the security and sound...

luke's again...

Isn't it funny the positions Mikenna chooses to hang out in? I've changed my master bath back splash...it's the tile to the far left...and am trying to come up with a backsplash for the kitchen above the stove-top...working on lighting...and then trying to pick out stone & color for the house...

Do you think the stones on the above and below photos are the same? I'm wondering if it is...

life besides the house...

Yes, we do other things besides hang out at our house site :) Here is Kaylee working on homework...only a few weeks left of school...
Soccer...all 3 of my older girls want to play soccer next fall...so, once the house is finished we will be living soccer...I'm so excited!
And yes, I am still having the girls learn the violin. They didn't have a spring recital, I'll have to video them playing their newest songs...

He's back :)

He came zipping up on his bike, but then just sat there, watching as Kaylee helped me set the sprinklers to water the dirt...then he slowly circled on his bike in the neighboring lot (must have punture proof tires)...next he's parked closer, watching the girls play in their gravel piles...
Next thing you know, he's following Kaylee around...and guess what!! He spoke to me today! I asked him how old he was...he answered!! WaHoo!!

Why...

there's a pile of gravel...they create lounges for themselves...there's a pile of dirt...more chairs...

...as if hanging out in the portapotty isn't enough...

5m8s...

that's how long it takes for me to walk after them from my parent's driveway to my driveway...

...notice they are wearing helmets...Michael got after me the other day for not being as diligent in making them wear them...

back patio...

So, our flatwork people had some extra hours to spend working on our back patio...Nick told me how he had some experience in cement stamping...& would do it for me if I just tipped him...Normally, to have this done it would be about and extra 3-4k...materials was 250...it took him & and another worker about 2 extra hours to get this done...it's not "perfect" but I wouldn't have paid the 3-4k extra for it...and it's better than a big piece of grey slab...

It's supposed to mimic italian slate...not the greatest photo...any idea as to what I should tip him?

framers...

They finally came and finished the deck...it's very roomy..while I was out taking a photo of it, caught another "series" of the side yard...not too shabby:)

Here is the corner tub...the designer didn't think to create a decking area for the tub, so it will barely squeeze in between the wall and the shower. Another reason why you need to be have a good designer...or one that will get the job done in a timely manner and takes good notes...
I can't tell you how many times I have tripped going up these stairs now...the day they put them in, I think I fell twice and tweaked my wrists...definetly a lot nicer than having to climb up or go all the way around the back...

...low volt...

We started pulling the low voltage wiring...cat 5 cable & RG6 (for TV or sat). It didn't take too long, we still need to tack the wiring up...but need to pull the security wiring first...

cousins...

It's great having cousins to hang out with. Mike and I pulled wire on Saturday and Aaron's kiddos came to hang out while they went to the temple & Emma came along too. They were all there for about...4 hours or so...played outside in the dirt & mud, played in the van on their DS's, played tennis, soccer, two square, more DS...next time we'll have to pack water and snacks...

Afterwards, we went to Denny's for a kids eat free night...maybe we'll be going there more often after long Saturdays :)
