How time goes by

I found some pictures of Jacob and Chris at the airshow 5 years ago!

The Thunder Birds come every two years to HAFB and kids just loved it this year. The last time we went Jacob was Logan's age

It got a pretty loud when they fired up their engines

Logan and Daddy

Colorado Srpings

I'm playing a little catch up since my last picture post. We went to Co. Springs in May with my family to visit my sister Jamie and her family. I love this place, it's just gorgeous.
Garden of the Gods Park
Sidney and Grandpa

We're finding that Logan hates to stand still

The kids would run over this bridge back and forth a bigillion times and never got tired.

We're Back!

YES! We Are Alive!!!!!!!!!

So we have been extremely busy in the past 8 months and have seemed to drop off the face of the earth in the process. We sold our home, yay, after five months of being on the market which means our home was clean from top to bottom for 5 months, Yah, I rock! Chris's parents built a home so we bought their existing home and moved in a week after they moved out. I tell you the timing was spot on, we were truly blessed with how everything worked out. Then we took on the task of remodeling the entire upstairs except the kitchen. I will have some before and after pictures when I get to it. I'm making no promises. It's amazing though how much time and energy it takes to remodel a home. We didn't expect to stay up everynight until 1 or 2am. But we have made it ours and a place where our children can call home!

First Time For Everything!

So now I can say that I've been escorted off Temple Square by Security! My little Sarah received a gash in her head and had to get staples! How did it happen, you ask? Well myself and my children were to meet my extended family at Temple Square and while doing so we were getting our picture taken in front of the Christus statue. Sarah sat down and began to swing on the velvet rope just in front of the statue and fell back right on the edge of the platform. Screams echoed and blood gushed and that was that.

The neat thing was that it couldn't have happened at a better place. Everyone was so helpful right down to the staff and visitors. A blessing in disguise was that my parents weren't due back from St. George until late that night but they decided to step on it and made it to Salt Lake right at the time I needed a lift to the hospital. So Dad met me at the gates and Mom stayed back with the kids. Miracles do happen everyday. Thank you to all who helped me and the kids this day, especially Mom and Dad and the family!

Back to her normal self, only a bit wackier!

Snow Days!

IN THE BACKYARD

So my kids love the snow. I can barely keep there snow gear dry for the next day.
This is a snowman the kids built all by themselves. They even gathered the accessories on their own. Logan isn't too happy in this one as you can see, maybe its the pink boots he was forced to wear!
Happy in a swing.

CHILL'IN WITH THE WHOLE FAM
We went sledding up in Mt. Green near Chris's sister's place and then warmed up with hot cocoa.
Notice Jacob's bandaged forehead? He had a mishap with the road. Seems he did one of those cartoon sommersaults where he came to a halt head first, riding his belly and forehead with his feet over head sort of thing! We extracted a rock the size of a sunflower seed from his head!

This run was just before the roadrash incident.

WHO NEEDS A HILL!

I know the video is a little blurry but the little squeels coming from my little powder puffs are so cute! Chris pulled the kids behind the 4-wheeler around and around and around the neighborhood. They just couldn't get enough! You know, it's amazing how resiliant kids are to the cold; I think it was in the low 20's that day.

A clearer photo of my powder puffs!

A DAY ON THE FARM

Jacob has been asking for awhile, "When are we going to Great Grandpa's orange playground?" Well, we spent a whole day up there and this video shows what his favorite stunt is on the playground. Really I've thought you could just put a giant tent over everything and bring in the circus! You've got a trampoline, zipline, giant swing, swingset, slide, teetertotter, rings, selfpropelled airplanes and much more. Dear Grandpa Ashby fabricated this whole park and then painted it a bright orange, you can't miss it!

Taking a hit

So I'm finally on the 30+ team, never thought the day would come! I play on a coed indoor soccer team and I love it. I'm really good......at running up and down the field. So in this video clip I get the wind knocked out of me by the goaly. I know it doesn't look like much of a hit but it really hurt!

Elder Uncle T Is Home

Yay! Elder Bair arrived on January 30th to some anxious nieces and nephews! We had so much that day. He wanted to spend the whole day with the family by visiting to President Hinckley's grave site, This is the Place Monument, and Chuckorama (go figure)!

Proud and happy mom and dad.

The competition has already begun! Chris is on his tip toes, stretching!

This was a neat experience. It's cute to see all the little trinkets left by children.

Our Quiet Christmas

This year we were able to slow down and have a quiet Christmas with just our little family. Usually we are carting the kids here and there and everywhere, engaging ourselves in too many activities, while not leaving enough time to truly teach our children about the Savior and Chistmas. This year I can say that as we cut out holiday activities we were able to add so much more to our Christmas.

The kids got me pantyhose because they noticed one Sunday I had a run in my hoses. Something I was not aware of. Santa brought a frying pan because the pancake output wasn't meeting it's quota.

Yah! Motorcross boots! Guess who was the first one up on Christmas morning!

Cantrell Christmas Party

Chris's employers host an annual Christmas party in Sacramento in which we have had the privilege to attend for 6 years now. The party is held at the owners home (we are lucky enough to lodge there each year) with a different theme each year. And these aren't just any ol' parties. These parties are planned years in advance. This year the theme was a Cowboy Christmas.

One of many dispays throughout the house.

The coral. Each child of the employees got to take a pony home!

Horse races in the street! Chris conquered all!

Lani won her heat!

Sidney became a real wrangler.

Family Pictures

The whole Quan Clan had pictures taken while everyone was in town for Kristi's wedding and Thanksgiving. I wish I had a picture of the whole clan but here are the pictures we took with our own camera of us and the kids. I think we'll just blow these up since professionally it would cost $50 to purchase.

Home For Sale

We are selling our home of 7 years. Chris's parents are building a new home so we are going to purchase their home. I never thought selling a home could be so tough; keeping the house clean is my biggest challenge.

Playing Catch Up!

So yeah, I've finally made the time to update the blog! I've been way busy(and lazy, this stuff takes a lot of time). So here is a little of what's been happening.

Kristi and Josh's wedding! I wish I had more pictures of the reception part. I did all the food for the wedding and it turned out pretty nice. Jamie did the decorations and THAT turned out beautiful!

10 and a half months and growing

Logan has just grown so rapidly before our eyes and the little quirky things he does reminds me that he's not quite a baby anymore and almost a toddler.

As I was clearing the dish rack Logan helped and then when it was empty he loaded himself. I was amazed because this was the first time he had actually climbed!

Take a good look at Logan's hair; it's about an inch and a half over his ears. I don't know why it didn't bother me before but on this particular day it did so I took him in a football hold and gave him his first buzz.

Aaaaaah, and here he is after the buzz! What a handsome boy!

Don't worry! The box of tissue only cost a dollar fifty and we can always reuse it. This is what I had to tell Daddy when he saw the mess.

Fall is here and so is Soccer!

This is Sidney's first year in soccer and she loves it, but mostly because her team name is "The Purple Princesses!" If you'll notice when she runs on the field there is always has a smile on her face, and actually it's more of a princess skip than a run. Yep, you'll find her in her uniform all day on Saturdays!

Jacob is a great runner up and down the field and up and down again. He also loves to defend the goal and has an awesome goal kick! The team name is "The Transformers!" For their cheer they gather their hands in the middle and break singing aloud, "More than meets the eye. Transformers!"
