Camilla's Spoon full Sketch

Hello - today is Tuesday and time for a new Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. And this week the very talented Camilla has a beautiful sketch.

I started with one of the adorable Rachelle Anne Miller stamps, this is "Lily & Milo - For You" that is colored with my Copics and Spica Glitter Pens. A light pink card stock is used for the base, with a scrap of pink and white pattern paper. (sorry the name is cut off so I don't know what it is) Now for the scallops I remembered the Basic Grey "Just the Edge" pieces I have had forever. I used one of the larger scallops and placed them on top and bottom following the sketch. For the circle I used a large Basic Grey Flower stacked with four more misc. flowers. The center is a Martha Steward adhesive pearl. Looked so pretty I put them on the tips of each scallop as well. Now when I went to put my image on the card I was running out of space, so I got rid of the mat I had planned and just edged the image with a pink Copic marker to give the appearance of a mat. But I still had no room for the two smaller circles on the bottom corner. So instead I added two Quickutz flourishes instead. This is a wonderful sketch and remember you can use any image you would like, so why not pop on over to the A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge and give it a try. This week I donated a brand new Rachelle Anne Miller stamp and some flowers. While there take a look at all of the other DT cards, wow they are wonderful!

My second card today is for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge and it was a must last night. As I got a envelope yesterday from my dear sweet friend, and fellow Spoon DT, Nikki . She saw my post last week about how much I treasure my Hanglar images sent to me by friends and sent me some new images to play with! Well I had to wait almost 3 hours before I could color one up! Isn't she adorable, as soon as I saw her I thought of one of my vintage stamp sets from Oxford Impressions. I have a few of these wonderful vintage photograph sets and sadly they are dusty from not being used much, well I pulled them out and decided that this little one needed some lounge chairs to enjoy the beach. The sentiment is also from that set. I stamped them with my Brilliance Graphite Black ink. Now I am wishing I had done it in a blue color... sigh.

I cut the Hanglar Girl with my Nestibilities and matted with a large cut red card stock. The Paper is another scrap, matted with a piece of yellow card stock. I doodled around everything and then just for some fun added the four buttons. Fun... I think I might dust off the other sets and mix them with my new favorites more often, kind of a neat look!

Today is a busy day, lots of little things on my list to check off. Hope to catch up on some blogs at some point today too, missed a lot through the weekend so looking forward to seeing everyone. Hope you have a great Tuesday planned and have time to get inky!

Tilda and her Alota School House

Today's Card is loosely based on this weeks Tilda & Co. Challenge Blog. I started out working the sketch and planned to do it just as it was. I colored my new Alota Rubber Stamps Schoolhouse and planned to cut it in the oval to follow the sketch. But after coloring in the image and just couldn't decide what to cut out, all along I planned to crop out some of it, but just couldn't do it in the end. So my oval is now a square. Hope they don't mind to much.
I colored it and my new school collection Tilda with my Copics. Now I wanted the schoolhouse to have an old fashioned look. Kind of like an old painting. So I sponge inked a light brown over the image and sanded it. Don't know if that worked or not.
I used a dark red card stock for the base and the mat. And the pattern paper is an older Daisy D's paper. I gel pen stitched the edges of the card stock and then inked the edges and a bit over the gel pen ink to age it some. I used a red ribbon, tied a knot and then with red wire attached the charm for some fun. Then I cut out the Magnolia Books and only used three of them instead of the entire stack, she would have been too tall if sitting on all of them. I cut her out and placed her on the books. The sentiment, which yes, is crooked, is from Hero Arts. I just got this set and I made sure the block was perfect in the corner... dumb stamp is mounted crooked on the block! Oh well now I know.
I got ahead on some DT work also last night, and also worked on stamping out some images for a RAK, so it was a productive night for me. Today may be a different story as I woke up with a nightmare of a headache! I am going now to eat something and take some aspirin, hopefully that will help.
OH and before I forget... Jeanette is having some blog candy! She is celebrating 10,000 hits and has some great Magnolia stuff up for grabs! Run and take a look.
Hope you have a great Monday and have some time to get inky!

I've been tagged!

I have been so bad the past couple of months with passing on awards, they truly do touch me and make me feel so special to receive them, I just can't seem to get my life in order to get them posted and pass them on, it is so hard to narrow down and pick people to pass them to. Well I had some quiet time today and thought this was a good time to pass on this TAG -

.
I've been tagged by: HEIDI, DONALDA and TA -
.
The rules are:1. Link your tagger and list the rules on the blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of the post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving them a comment on their blog.
.
So here it is 7 facts about me:
.
1-I am addicted to Coca-Cola... love it and shouldn't drink it, but it is my caffeine and sugar of choice.
2- I LOVE Yankee Baseball! Watch nearly every game, I am a Texan all the way thru but do love my Yankee Baseball --- And yes Derek Jeter is my favorite ;0)
3-I collect antiques of all kinds - yellow ware, glass, and kitchen tin are my favorites
4-I LOVE to buy new gadgets... yep have to have the latest and the newest toys and many of them end up in drawers and forgotten.
5-I love to shop... sad thing is that as a "big" girl I hate to buy things in my size... sigh Lord help my Hubby when I do fit in the regular girls section.
6-I have one sister. No other siblings. My sister was a pain my entire life, 6 years difference, nothing in common. Now she is probably my best friend and I talk to her daily, can't imagine life without her... sniff sniff .. love ya Mel!
7-I drive a pick up truck. And have for so long that now when I ride in cars it kind of freaks me out because I am too close to the road... I like being up in my truck!
.
Thats was me.
.
Now I want to read about some wonderful girls :

So I pass on this TAG to:
JayJay
Diane
Heather
Lim
Carole
Chris
Shary

Hard to narrow down... I love you all and would like to know more about you... so add it yourself and play along if you would like -

Pretty in BLUE?

This week the challenge at Sarah Kay Challenge is to use Blue as the main color in your card. Great challenge, because it leaves it soooo open to what ever you want to do just use blue! Any shade of blue!

I used a dark blue card stock as the base of my card, and then chose a K&Company paper as the pattern paper. And it was a scrap so bonus points for me personally! I decided I wanted to use one of the Sarah Kays that I could color in lots of denim... so I chose "A kiss for ChloƩ" love those over-alls! I colored them with my Copics and then inked the edges with a dark blue ink, matted with the same card stock as the base.

How how about those flowers, lovin' my new EK Success Retro Flower Punches. I have been admiring them for so long on other blogs, and when punches were on sale last time.. I got two sizes! I punched three, one large and two small out of the blue card stock. Then I placed them upside down on a mouse pad and with a bone folder I rounded the petals out, it really gave some shape to them! I then punched a small flower out of what was left from the pattern paper, it is the pattern on the other side of the dotted paper, and used buttons for the centers. My flourishes, die cuts from Quickutz, are also K&Company scraps and has a vintage script pattern on it and looks kind of cool cut into the flourishes and also the sentiment that is a Cuttlebug die cut.

I gel pen stitched down the edges of the card stock and the image.. then for some fun I stitched around the petals of the flowers... love how that came out!

Ok, now for more blue inspiration.. run over and see the other DT cards at Sarah Kay Challenge Blog! and to see all of the Sarah Kay images including the BRAND NEW Christmas images that very soon will be available... go over to STAMPAVIE and take a look, the new ones are so cute and I can't wait to get them!

I'm off... it is Sunday, so Breakfast at the local cafe with the locals! Hope you have a great day, with family and friends and time to get inky!

Peek-a-Boo Rachelle Anne Miller and It's Donkey Saturday!

or should this just have been Donkey Week? Man I just looked back and this past week had more Donkey post! That is not normal... but it was fun for me ;0)

A card first - I got my new Rachelle Anne Miller Stamps this week! And this is the one stamp I have been just going nuts waiting for! Oh I love all of them, but since I saw this adorable kitty I have wanted it! This is Peek-a-boo, cute huh? I colored him with my Copics and Spica Glitter Pens.

I used a light purple card stock for the base, one because I just thought it went well with the image, and two because it was sitting there left over from another card. Using scraps when I can! I actually got out of my chair and went over to my older pattern paper and went through and found some older Basic Grey papers from the Lucky and Fusion lines. I followed this weeks Friday Sketchers Challenge for my card, and cut the pieces to fit. I inked the edges of everything with a dark brown to make them pop a bit more. I worked forever trying to put the vertical sentiment, and then remembered these really neat tags from K&Company, it was pure luck that it was the exact size as my image and looked good behind it. The "Thinking of You" is from a local Rubber Stamp Store, Stamp Antonio. It is a bit of a drive for me, but oh my... This is not a just in to look around store. I go out with much more than I should each visit. Ok so back to the card - I then added the three flowers on the bottom with buttons. I know the sketch shows two on top and two on bottom but it just didn't fit right on my card, sorry. I gel pen stitched the edge of the card and the image and done! Then I looked at it and thought... Man I have really been into the Purple and Green lately! I think I need to try and get in a different color zone next week. But I do love it!

Now to my babies!!! It is Donkey Saturday! For those that don't know... each Saturday I show photographs of my Donkeys.
This first photo is again a "breakfast at the bale" photo, I know I show a lot of these, but hey I take my photographs at 7am, it is breakfast time. But today I just had to shoot this one... anyone feeling sorry for Darlene today? My she is really getting wide! She is still at least a month or more away from when we think she should deliver... she is a "big boned" girl normally but when she is this far along she really does get wide, good thing we don't have any small gates for her to walk through!
Alright then I took a great shot of Coffee this morning - I just love his EARS! That is where he has gotten the nick name Ears. He is one that we have for sale, I am really getting attached to this guy, it is going to be hard to let go of him...... :(
Then I took a photo of two of my Standards. This is Cocoa and Valentine her son. He is the biggest Momma's boy you have ever seen, he is rarely more than 10 feet from her, and Lord help us, if he ever looses her. Crying, Heeing and Hawing, Running, Kicking and pure panic until she comes out of hiding. Most of the time this is happens just after dark and it is a major disruption on the property until we find "Mom" for Valentine. You would never know he is over 4 years old! I know I have told this before but.... some have asked why I named him Valentine, was he born Feb. 14th? No he was born in April.... he is named for my favorite Kevin Bacon character in one of my favorite movies. Now I hope you will not think less of me - I love the Tremors movies. And the first is my favorite. We watch it at least once or twice a month. I know Dorky huh?
Alright lots to do this morning! Today is a special 12-12 Crop at my LSS The Scrapbook Corral. It is Scrap Pink day, what could be better than a crop with my buddies and all for a great cause! So I better get going! Hope you have some fun planned for the day, and get inky!

GUESS WHAT I GOT IN THE MAIL....

I am soooooooo excited! Yesterday afternoon my Alota Rubberstamps Sweet Little Donkey Stamps come!!!!! As soon as I had a second I mounted them on my foam cut them and got out my INK!!! How adorable is he??

I colored him with my Copic Markers, then I used stickles on the flowers and the butterfly. I love it, and the stickles qualifies me for this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge.
For the card I chose one of my all time favorites, only the best for these Donkeys! DCWV Glittery Nana's Nursery Girl papers. One because the are just adorable, two because the extra glitter and bling fit the challenge!
One pattern is matted on a light green and sewed down with a blanket stitch. I then used the pattern with the cute baby words and names on it as a band across the bottom and sewed it down. I cut my cutie with my circle Nestibilities and then matted a green scallop card stock that I inked the edges on. Oh and when cutting the circle, I cut out the butterfly first and made sure to not cut it with the circle so it would fly over the circle. Does that make sense?
I added stacks of Prima flowers with Doodlebug Glitter brads. And it is all on a pretty pink card stock base.
Now there are soooo many wonderful Donkey Sentiments with this set, but my favorite is simply "Donkey Hugs" Well the front looked so finished I decided to pretty up the inside, so I used the same papers and created a decorated mat around the sentiment for the inside. Giggle Giggle...
Now here is one more thing I just have to share. Look at what one of the smaller donkeys are in the set..... Yep a stamp for the back of the card! It reads "Stamped with Love and Donkey Kisses"! Perfect along side my normal backside stamp that I have used forever.
Ok.... so I will be grinning from ear to ear today! And I have so many more Donkeys to color and play with!
Don't forget this is from the same two sheets of rubber that is part of my Blog Candy.... Click the link on my side bar for the info!
Well gotta run, Hubby is screaming for me, ready to get to work! Hope you have a great Friday and get inky!

How exciting the First Whiff of Joy Challenge!

Love my Whiff of Joy stamps, so the challenge will definitely be a favorite! Especially starting off with a sketch from Katharina! Now for my first Whiff of Joy Challenge entry I decided to blow the DT girls and kiss and wish them a great success. Here is Melinda blowing Kisses all colored in purple with my Copic Markers, Spica Glitter Pens, Sakura Glaze Pens and white gel pen. I cut her out with my Nestibilities Oval and matted with a larger oval Core'dinations purple card stock.
I used this for the base as well. For the circle shadow I used a light green piece of Core'dinations. I sanded all of these pieces to give them that shabby look. The pattern papers are all My Minds Eye, and are cut and inked with purple ink. I gel pen stitched down everything, seemed to help pop the individual pieces as they are all so close in color. Now I thought it needed flowers, so I added two small flowers to the top box, and centered them with Martha Stewart adhesive pearls. Love this sketch, gonna save it for sure. Don't forget to run over and check out the Whiff of Joy Challenge and give it a go... if you don't have your Whiff of Joy stamps make sure to check out the Store - HERE - and see just how cute they all are! I Love them!
Well it is MIL shopping day. Yep the day I run my errands and my take my MIL to run hers, I hope it is a short day, as I have lots I need to get done at home as well.
And thanks so much for the GREAT response to my Blog Candy below! WOW woke up to lots of comments! It means so much that you are all taking the time to spread the word and help me celebrate!

Thrifty Tilda

Now this was a perfect time for this weeks Tilda & Co. Challenge make a card on a budget, to not spend more than $2.00 on a card. Well I have been cleaning and did make a promise to try and use up scraps. So here is my Tilda card on a Budget-

I started 1/2 of light green sheet of card stock, matted with a scrap of sage green card stock that I distressed and inked. The pattern paper is also a scrap, that i inked the edge. I picked one of my favorite Tilda's... shame huh - I have all the new Tildas from the stamp club and I went back to an old one. She just felt right for this card. I colored her with my Copics and white gel pen. I inked the edges, and matted with the same sage green distressed card stock. The twill ribbon, oh that was one of my bargains last week. Martha Stewart on the clearance rack! Yep 15 yards of twill ribbon for .99 cents! Good deal! The card that the sentiment, which is from a paper studio stamp, is also Martha Stewart and is a white deco place card that I inked with the same green ink as the words, they were on sale 30% and I used one of the 24 of them so not so pricey. The flowers are Primas from my stash, with Making Memories brad and jewelry spacers for centers. I stickled Tilda's wings and then decided the card needed a bit more so I went a little stickle crazy. Dotted it all around the sentiment, and on the corners.

So lets get my pricing together and see how I did

Card stock - .28 cents
Scraps - free
Twill Ribbon - hmmm I guess .05 cents
Martha place Card - .15 cents
Flowers - .20 cents
Brads - .20 cents
Spacers - .05 cents
Stickles - .05 cents.

Equals - .98 cents --- ok some of that I totally guessed at, but I think I am still safe under the $2.00 mark. Whew... glad I don't have to do that on every card!
Ok, Hubby is off getting supplies for the day and when he gets home we will be getting to work around here. So while he is gone, should I do some house work or blog surfing... he he off to visit some blogs! Have a great Wednesday and get inky!

A little video fun -

Just as I came home today I saw that everyone in one of the pens were running. The weather is nicer and not so hot, the donkeys are really enjoying it. Now please do not make fun of my video as it was with my phone... so not so great of quality.

First is Cheyenne, Macie and their daughters Lola and Lina... Cheyenne took the corner a little to fast -

The next is Jazz and Gloria... I Love the look Jazz gives me! And the the snort to boot! She couldn't figure out why I was holding my phone into the pen. Bonnie my Border Collie hates when they snort, you can hear her in the background!

Hope it gave you a giggle - we love watching them play -

A Spoon full of Sugar is SO Charming today!

Yep, things are just "Charming!" The challenge this week at a Spoon Full of Sugar this weeks is to use a charming character or Charms on your card. How cute it that? Now I have been really loving charms lately. I blame Camilla my fellow DT at Spoon Full of Sugar... she sent me some gorgeous charms last month and I have just adored them. So I have been out seeking more myself. So the challenge this week was just perfect timing for me.

I started out with a sweet image from Alota Rubber stamps "Girl with Rabbit", isn't she just precious? I colored her with my Copics. Hubby came in the room just as I finished her and I showed him. Now this is funny....... He said "Yea she is cute, but she needs some pizazz, you some of that bling you talk about" LOL! But he was right, So her dress and her hair have a light layer of twinkling H2O's (darn it you can't see that in the photo, I tried with a million photos!) I also decided she needed some glitter shoes, so I used my glue pen and colored her shoes then tapped oh so lightly ultra fine pink glitter on her shoes. Don't they look cute!
So now for the card, I picked a bright pink rose colored pink for the base and a small piece of DCWV Sweets pattern paper, it has some sparkle to it as well. I didn't want lots of patterns I remembered my Quickutz large Flourish die and cut it out, then ran it through my Cuttlebug with the swiss dots embossing folder and sanded it, neat look. The image is cut with the large Nestibility circle and then the matching scallop out of the base card stock. I inked the edges with a medium pink around the image and then a pale pink on the scallops. I gel pen stitched the image down.
I picked four Prima flowers that matched and then had sooooo much fun going through charms picking the perfect ones. First the large Charm that reads "friends" was just the perfect color and works great as my sentiment, I attached it with a mini brad. There are two hanging heart charms and two spacers all held down with pink mini brads. Love this!
Very girlie I know but I like it! Please, run over to A Spoon Full of Sugar and take a look at all of the Charming cards, the other DT's really did some fabulous work this week! And CC Designs donated some great images as a prize this week!
Gotta get going today - I am having lunch with people I use to work with in another life. HA it seems that way, these people are wonderful friends and I miss them dearly, so I am looking forward to seeing them. Hope you have a great day and get inky!

Back at Ismaki!

Whew I know I am a little late at last weeks Ismaki Challenge, but I got it done! I was determined I wanted to do the challenge, I loved the sketch and I missed it while it was on its summer break. But man was it a crazy week. So I pulled out the sketch last night and got to work.

I decided to use some of my Hanglar images that were sent to me by a special friends. I feel like these images that were sent to me from many wonderful people for my birthday should be locked in a safe... when they are gone, they are gone and Hanglars are not available here in the US. So I protect them and use them when the sketch is just right.

I colored them with my Copics and white gel pen. Then cut them out with my Fiskars fingertip knife.

I am so proud of myself here... all my papers are scraps! I cleaned my paper shelf off yesterday and decided I need to start using scraps more effectively again. So I challenged myself to make a few of my cards each week with scraps. Heck if I could make one a week I will be happy!

The base is Bazzill card stock, the green card stock is Core'dinations. The pattern papers are Daisy D's and something else (he he scraps ya know) I inked everything including the torn pieces. The flowers are from Prima and Bazzill and have Doodlebug glittered brads in the centers. My sentiments are from Stampin Up.
Now that I have posted this I can go and look at this weeks new challenge. ;0)
I think I have some time left now I can go and check out some blogs before I need to get working. Hope you have a great week and have some time to get inky!

Sarah Kay in a CD!

This week just flew by! Man where did it go? Here it is Sunday again and time for the Sarah Kay Challenge Blog, and this week it is a great challenge - to use a CD case in your work. Definitely made me think.

Well I finally decided to combine my CD with and accordion folder. I have been wanting to try making one of these and this seemed like a great time. So here is my Accordion CD image holder!

I started out by coloring my Sarah Kay image with my Copics and Sakura Glaze Pens. I cut her out with a border around the edge.

Now I didn't want to add much bulk inside so I made the accordion folds for the sides and attached them to a card stock back and pattern paper front. (this is a Heidi Grace Shimmer paper) I cut this down a million times to get it to fit perfectly into the CD... I was so nervous I would cut it too much and I had way too much time on the folds to ruin it. Once it fit just right, I added the ribbon, the image, the flower/leaf to the front and then on the inside I attached two pieces of the pattern paper to cover the attachment of the folded sides.

I wanted this to stay "slick" on the front. Nothing that would come off. That way you could carry it in a purse or mail with no worries. But I did have one slight problem... that nasty open area down the side. I really need to order some that don't have that, but this was all I had. So I attached a ribbon down that side just to cover the hole. I think it is a "neat" way to ship RAK images what do you think?

Run on over and see what all the other DT's came up with this challenge.... wow really creative! Then give it a try yourself!

A heads up... I am thinking I am over due for some blog candy. I think I actually promised at 10,000 to do it again at 20,000 - oops missed that. So I am currently putting together some goodies and should post it in a day or so. Keep an eye out!

Sunday - so better get my act together to meet the gang at the local cafe for breakfast. This is a tradition we have had for years - Sunday morning breakfast with friends. I had someone ask me about the cafe we go to each week. It really is an old fashion small town cafe. Gas pumps outside, red and white plastic table cloths on the tables. Large griddle cook top right out where you can watch the sweet ladies make your meal. Breakfast is plain and simple but always tasty. Their other menu items range from hamburgers to chicken fried steaks, meat loaf to fried chicken. A few Mexican foods (it is Texas you know!) and on Wednesday and Fridays all you can eat catfish! Gotta love it! Plus it is the best place to catch up on all the local "news" - not gossip these old farmers would never do that! Well better run or I might miss something shocking! ;0)

Hope you have a crafty day planned and HUGS!

Get your cup of Coffee....

Yes get your cup of Coffee - cuz I got lots today!

First lets do a card and get that out of the way as it is Saturday and I do have Donkey photographs!

My card today was so much fun! I used this weeks Friday Sketchers Sketch love all the details of it. I have been dying to use one of my new Alota Rubber Stamps, this is Cupcake Girl and she can be found: HERE Now I can't tell you why I didn't use her yesterday for Cute Card Challenge, but I guess now I have two cards that qualify for this week! LOL! I colored her with my Copics and matted her with the same as the base color.

Now I just got a new DCWV stack called "Sweets" and it has some yummy papers! these are both from that stack. I hope you can see how cute the top pattern paper is with all the words and cupcakes! I matted and inked everything then found a very thin ribbon as per the sketch and ran down three times down the left side. I used two felt flowers and sugared brads for centers. The sentiment is from Rubber Stamps Tapestry. I know the details are quick today... but like I said I have lots today ;0)
Alright now to some Donkey photos! Now aren't
these some serious looks on their faces?

Well you see on we had some visitors the other day.......
Strangers! And they are not suppose to be on "their" property!!! Our neighbors sheep get out all of the time. But they usually don't get onto out property. Well this week somehow they made in thru our fence at some point. Yes next week we will be checking all the fences just to be safe. But Wow did it disrupt my babies day. Hours they spent just staring. They couldn't get to them as they were in their individual pens, but if they could have I am sure they would not have been on our land for long! Wish you could have heard all the snorting and grunts as they were not happy donkeys and they wanted these odd looking animals to go away!
Now the next Donkey news has just been killing me to keep quiet!!! You see Helene at Alota Rubber Stamps went out and found some images just to make me over the moon happy! You see she has DONKEY IMAGES!!!!!! When she emailed a couple weeks back and told me she had found them I was screaming with excitement, but then she even let me in on putting some of the sentiments together for these adorable babies!!!!! We emailed back and forth and finally got some great sayings. We could have probably done another whole sheet of rubber in sayings!
Now are these not the Cutest??? They are actually called "Sweet Little Donkeys 1" and Sweet Little Donkeys 2" (Just click on their names to get to them) I think these are going to sell really fast... so hurry on over and get yourself some donkeys!!!! I am just soooo excited I had to share even before I got mine to stamp out. But you do know you are going to be seeing some Donkey cards really soon!
Ok... today's post has just worn me out! I am going to go get me a coke and sit for awhile and catch up on some blog surfing! Hope you have a great Saturday!
