Prima PPP May 2014 - "You"

Hi there!

Back again with my take on the Prima May PPP. The colours are absolutely glorious, at first I immediately went for the obvious girly pink and yellow but when I put my photo next to the inspo board it was all wrong. Thinking cap on again and voilà! it was the subdued taupe and cream that became my mains with pops of teal and muted sunflower as accents. The pink can be found in the fussy cut rosebuds tucked under the clusters.

And here is my take - "You";

 I am absolutely nutters about Prima's wood icons and wooden ATCs, 

they are gorgeous as they are but can also be spruced up 

in any way you like. Chalks, mists, acrylic paint, 

they all look just fabulous on them!

Here I have used chalk edgers with water and a finely tipped

brush for a soft look.

 

I used the same method on the wood icon "&" and then washed it

once with diluted gesso to tone down just an inkling.

 

 Dito with the ornate parts of the resin frames, 

added some itty liquid pearls as well.

 In one of her Live With Prima shows, Sharon Laakkonen showed

how she touched up her resin angels in Liquid Pearls to

get a more shabby look to them. 

Thank you for the tip Sharon, it works magic!

Something else that I am absolutely crazy about, are

the SIIC. I think I have used about 10 packs of both the

Sea Shore and Time Traveler's ones since they were released.

The golden ones - I just say aaaaaahhh!

That mysterious thing called scrapbooking

Hello hello beautiful peeps!

Finally I am up and breathing pretty normally again. The exhibition at the art gallery in the Old Town in Stockholm is over, a wonderful week of visitors and many discussions on that mysterious thing called scrapbooking. 

Didn't quite realize that there are so many regular people out there who have no idea of why anyone would want to stick paper and embellishment on a piece of paper and then have it framed. 

On the other hand, I was positively surprised many times too. One American guy took many photos of my layouts to show to his sister, who actually lives next block away from the Prima HQ in Los Angeles. Another man was so intrigued by the layers of my projects that he came in on 3 consecutive days just to look at them.

Sharing a few impromptu shots with you;

 This is one of the canvases that I created specifically for

the exhibition - "The Journey".

It was finished the night before the opening so I 

never had the time to photograph it properly. 

It now hangs in this young man's home.

I am sharing a couple of work-in-progress photos that 

I took with my mobile phone and

a product list further down in this blogpost.

 A favourite with art critics and art buyers - it is called "Master Mind".

Work-in-progress snapshots, but I think the layer upon 

layer of misting photographs quite well despite all.

The flicks of gold and the shimmering floating water colour

effect is very pretty IRL.

Back to my Scrap365 DT take of today, I have called it "Giggle";

95% of all products on this page are from Crate.

I was inspired by the gold ornaments of the balloons, the bow 

from the cute shoes, the doilies in the bottom right photo 

and the round shape of the macaroons. Instead of regular 

balloons, I used a hot air balloon.

The banner is typical of birthdays and as SATW are

celebrating big time, a banner was in order on my page too!

An LO for a Rainy Day + first published article in Scrap365 + winners of my bloganniversary give-aways

Hello beautiful friends!

May is progressing at rapid speed, now it's only a week left to the multi artistic exhibition in which I will participate together with 4 other people. The private viewing takes place in a gallery in the Old Town of Stockholm next Saturday.

My GDT spot with Prima in June is also only less than 3 weeks away. Feeling super thrilled thinking about that, but first I'd like to share a page that I created for the spring issue of the PaperHaus Magazine. As it sadly closed down shortly before its release, the page hasn't been shown before.

It was made for the gallery theme "Spring/Rain", so here goes;

Our cats often sit and look out the window when it’s raining. 

Dreaming, completely lost in their own thoughts. 

When they were kittens, they used to press their little noses onto 

the window and chase the raindrops from the inside.

My third and last layout is very dear to me. It turned out to be the second last page someone much much loved was to get for his wall of love before he left on his life's last journey. It is based on a song and its chorus that says "I will go anywhere with you".
