hohohoho. i spent my day like a tai-tai today! hahaha.. i woke up at 1.30pm and went plaza royal for high tea with my sisters and friend. the high tea is quite boring, the food is not nice at all and for the $30 i paid, i think i only ate $10 worth of stuff. after that, i went body shop to make use of stanley and ben again. wahahahhaa.
reached home at 7 plus, no shows to watch.. until 8pm when channel 5 was showing 'the animal'. some gross movie but quite entertaining. after that my sister suddenly took a piece of paper and today's sunday times and started scri$bbling away. she was doing the psle math which was published on the papers! apparently, many parents complained that the paper was quite tough. i tried the questions too!
1. Shop A has 156kg of rice. Shop B has 72kg of rice. After both shops sold an equal amount of rice, the ratio of rice that Shop A has to Shop B is 4:1. Find the amount of rice sold by the shops. (3 marks)
---> This is the toughest question i think. i spent about 10 mins doing trial and error.. haha. it's not an easy number to find lor. my sister, who started 5 mins earlier than me, cannot solve lor. hahahaha.
2. 6/14 of the chairs in a hall are in rows of 13. Half of the chairs are in rows of 7. The rest of the chairs are stacked up. Find the total number of chairs. (5 marks)
----> easiest question and so many marks! seriously they have a problem with mark allocation.
3. Tank A is filled with water to its brim. Water is then poured from Tank A to Tank B until both share the same height. What is this height? (4 mark)
[the diagram below is drew my me using microsoft words. HAHA]

i will post the answer if there is a demand. HAHA. anyway, a retired teacher, who has 40 years of experience teaching primary 6 math, took 19 mins to complete the 3 questions, which is 14% of the duration of the paper. with the help of calculator and a stress-free environment somemore. i spent +- 15 mins. haiyoh. i really pity the kids today.
i can still remb the math question during our PSLE year (2000), the math qn which many teachers complained!! haha. maybe u want to try that question too?
4. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + ... + 97 = _________
What is the value of the 'ones' place? (this is a MCQ question worth 2 marks. how much time u spent? i still remb the method i used and i think i used 3 mins or so)
suddenly math seems to be so interesting. hahaha. tml is o level a math and tina just asked me about 2 a math question which i can barely do. relative velocity leh yucks! eeeeeeeeeee. and tml i am having matrices lecture. what a mathematical day.
