Almost a year gone by...

... but dogzoomies will be back soon! I've had numerous changes in my life... new state, new job, new dogs, new everything! My twitter feed (to the right) is pretty current for a peek at what I have been up to. Looking forward to sharing more dogcentric-ness here. Lotsa pics. More dogs. A lot more dogs. Trying to find a groove again

Working hard to find a groove again… the last 3 months have been a whirlwind of very personal chaotic emotions. With other events, the loss of Molly, in February, and Ben, only a week ago... is hard to bear. If I think about these things too long, I become a puddle of tears. I knew the time was near, for both Molly and for Ben. I think they were giving me time to come to terms and accept the inevitable. And to push me into a new chapter.

Big changes are coming up fast. It’s a big move. I’m ready for it. I really need it.

Molly and Ben will always be with me. I will miss those two forever. And as I look down and see this bright-eyed little border collie looking back at me, I can look to the future, a little less heavy-hearted.

I’m looking forward to new adventures, me and Jane.

Today, April 30, 2012,  I said goodbye to another dear companion. Ben picked a patch of clover in the backyard to lay down in, as was his habit in the last couple days. Each time, I lay or sat with him in the grass for awhile, petting him gently, letting him know he was a good boy, thanking him for being a great teacher, and that he would be with Molly again soon.

I am grateful to my friend, Sue (a vet), who came over to my home to free Ben's spirit.

 

There is a comfort in knowing that Molly was waiting for Ben... 

And that they are together again.

One day

 

Today, February 10, 2012, I said goodbye to my Molly. Miss Molly passed peacefully on, at home, right where she wanted to be, as I held her head in my hands. I will probably never find the words to properly convey what this dog has meant to me. One day I will try. I love you, Molly girl.

Spring is a smilin'

We've got wacky weather.  It was brutally cold in December. And it's a springy start to February. Even if it is temporary, we'll take a couple days of the sun warming our backs in 60+ degree temps. It certainly helped dry the mud pits in the backyard!

Jane says that while she is excited at the prospect of good things lurking in packages
under the tree, she's not so sure about the big jolly bearded man in the funny suit
that brings said packages. She's keeping an eye out for him.

 Mr. Ben simply wants to wish everyone and everydog a very Merry Christmas.

He says to cherish the days, all days, always. He's a wise one, so I would listen to him.

He says to save some of that baked ham and roast turkey for him, thankyouverymuch.
