Refocus on Holiday Values

I found a wonderful website for digital photos and scrap booking classes. I love learning new ways to create things. The website was created by Jessica Sprague. She is offering a free class for more information you can go to JessicaSprague.com.

The title of the class is Refocus on Holiday Values.

The assignment today is to take a few quiet minutes today to think about my values.

What are my holiday values?

  • family
  • Christ
  • traditions
  • togetherness
  • friends
  • the spirit
  • laughter
  • friendship
  • gratitude
  • sharing
  • giving
  • reflecting
What matters most to you?
I would love to have quiet together family times to focus on the Reason for the Season! I would love to have family tradition that strengthen family members testimony of Jesus Christ. And all the symbols that reflect Christ great love for all of us.

My Goal is to talk more of Christ and his love and less of the commercial traditional items, but have fun and learn to see others as Christ sees and loves us.

I am sure that my goal will be refined as the week goes on, but David is home and time to help get ready for an appointment.

I hope others will take this class and share their thoughts.

Alayna's First Hair Cut

Alayna needed a hair cut and my sister Shirley cut it for us. Alayna was not very cooperative, she cried until she fell asleep. As you can see David had to hold her down and a shot of her sleeping.

Here she is! (I can not get a good picture of her) We think the cut is cute and Alayna will tell anyone who asked that her aunt Shirley cut her hair. Any suggestions on how to get her to sit still and not cry? It was as if she has nerves in her hair the way she cried as her hair was being cut.

Camping

We got to got to a Family Reunion for my side of the family in July. The reunion was in Flagstaff. We had fun visiting with family. Alayna had fun with all her toddler cousins. After the reunion we spent a week camping at Blue Ridge reservoir. Alayna had her own "princess" fishing pole. She even got rained out while fishing with her dad and grandpa in the boat. I enjoyed seeing the Rigtrups who came down from Washington.

Gideon's post

Hi, Gideon here typing my first blog post. Mom is busy being a mom. She suffers from many things, one big one is lack of sleep. I like to wake her up twice during the night.
Here is my first taste of solid foods. Yummy rice cereal!
My first visit to the beach...aww so relaxing.
My family at the beach. Alayna loved the sand and Dad loved body surfing on the waves.
We also spent two days at Legoland. Lots to see.

Here is Dad and Alayna on one of the few rides she could go on. Here is Alayna and I playing together. She loves me in her own way, if taking every toy I touch is called love.

Here is our family watching the 4th of July fireworks in Heber, AZ. I fell asleep and Alayna got scared so she sat in the truck for the show.

And my new friend Martin. We will have to hang out more, maybe next time our Dad's go fishing we will get to go too.

Photoshop

I am taking a class on line to learn photoshop. ( and to see if I want to purchase photoshop)

So far I have learned to add layers, boards, and my favorite vintage or hand tinted.

Our Garden

We planted a garden this spring and are looking forward to some yummy veggies.
Right now we have a few flower and sweet peas. And Alayna eats any cherry tomato.

Memorial Day Weekend

So I am a little behind on my posts. I think about posting, but don't want to up load the pictures.

Well we went to a cabin this past weekend and had a good time in the forest. We took a few hikes and relaxed.

Alayna would just go walking on her own. Luckily our dog stayed right by her. We might have to put a leash on Alayna and not the dog.

Who thought is would snow... inside

Yes, we had what looked like snow in our house. Alayna got into our paper shredder. And had some fun. I was on the phone... It brought back a memory of time in college when my roommates and I put shredded paper in a friends car and then the paper was returned inside of our apartment. It was everywhere. The frig, cupboard, beds, bathroom... I found it when I move out after a few years.

Alayan liked playing with the pieces of paper.

Gideon got to sit in his swing!
Alayna trying to help clean up. She didn't last long. Playing outside with the dog was more fun.

Gideon

Our little boy is growing. I enjoy dressing him. He is my live baby doll. I hope he forgives me when he is older.
I just love little boys in overall. Who says boys are not as much fun as girls to dress up?
