in may i "celebrated" two year mark in southern california, which is gnarly. it feels like last week that katie and i drove across the desert to come live in grandma's trailer. thankfully i'm loving it as if it was a week ago that i got here and i have no immediate plans to leave.
i'm loving my job with the most adorable twins ever. it's great going to work and playing, and i definately feel like part of the family. actually, i'm "mommy debbie".
i've been dating a great guy for almost six months now (yikes!) and it's going well. tall, goofy, a big kid... just my type.
not much else. as always, i'm continuely reading something new and am always open to recommendations (wink, wink. nudge, nudge.)
exciting, huh?
love.

Hi everyone! I moved to New York City just over 6 months ago and really am in love with it! I decided I was going to move here in late May of this year and then proceeded to look for work. When I applied to be a nanny I never thought it would all happen so fast! By the middle of June i was offered a job and I moved here at the beginning of July! I take care of 2 kids, John and Madison, boy and girl twins, they are 6 and way fun, though at times I could just lock em both in a closet to get some peace of mind! :) One great perk of this job is that I get to travel with the family, we have gone to Vermont, L.A., Delaware, The Hamptons, and the mom is looking into a trip to Europe for sometime this next year! And for fun I was recently able to take a little trip of my own to San Fransisco, where I got to see one of my best friends and his band, NEON TREES, open for the band The Killers! It was amazing and I had so so so much fun! Now back to my job!
I really do feel like the mom most of the time, but I do enjoy the family and the satisfaction of hard work and now truly sympathize with all you moms! Work aside, I really love it here, always so much to do and new people to meet, today I am going ice skating in Central Park, it really doesn't get much better then that:), well of course, unless you're Jim and laying on the beach? :) My ward is fun and I look forward to a little peace every Sunday when I can shut out the City and go to church! I plan on staying here awhile as I have committed to this nanny thing for at least 2 years and then we'll see where my urges take me!? I love you all and hope you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Leah's Family

Gosh my parents are taking the easy route this year with having all of us write our own entries and posting our own pictures…who do they think they are?
Well let’s see I’ll start with the boys...
Ary, our oldest, let’s just say that he is now 5, the age where he knows everything, can’t find anything and there is nothing he doesn’t want for Christmas. Fortunately for us he is a good little helper who loves to take care of his little brother Harrison. Ary, has enjoyed soccer and t-ball this year as well as making lots of friends at preschool.
Ammon, the “middle child” is just that, the middle child. YIKES!!! With the good graces of God he has somehow managed to stay alive this year. There isn’t anything he can’t climb, open or break. Good thing he is soooooo cute!
Harrison our youngest was born this past January. The Lord knew I needed a break after his two older brothers and sent me an angel. Next year we may be singing a different tune but happy, mellow and chill describe him well (this year).
As for Richard and I, we have had a busy year. This summer we took the family to California. We visited family and did some touristy stuff. Labor Day weekend we went to Zion’s National Park with Richard’s family. It was SO beautiful. Richard flew to the Philippines at the end of September to check out a company we want to purchase. The day after he got home we moved to Arizona. Richard was transferred with his work to Arizona to build a couple assisted living facilities. We’ve told Rimrock we’re willing to stay for a couple of years providing we don’t move to the Philippines. Over Thanksgiving we went camping in Northern Arizona with Richard’s family and visited the Grand Canyon. Busy? Yes, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Life is good!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ~ The Whites
a little bit about jim
hello everyone, this is jim reporting from mexico city. so i moved down here to spend some time away from the united states and learn a new language and that was two years ago, somehow. the amazing weather, frequent visits to the beach and a great group of friends make the idea of leaving nonexistent. i've also become addicted to riding my bicycle and i take a trip to the city's main square (el zócalo) everyday - it's a lot of fun. besides that, i telecommute for a small market research company from chicago and spend a lot of time traveling and planning the next trip. i really enjoy my life.

The Continuing Adventures of "the Becky Fitches"

Life is great! So as many of you know shortly after the start of this new year I went to Dusseldorf, Germany to become an au pair for the Alberty family. I was there from the end of January till the end of May and though it was one of the hardest experiences of my life, I made some amazing new friends and learned to love it out there. Before coming home I was able to travel around to London & Oxford, England, Nimes, France and of course to Italy. I was able to revisit 3 of my 4 cities from my mission and see some of the amazing members again.
Life is back to normal and great! Since I've been home I have started classes again at the Y and am finally able to see the "graduation horizon". The goal is to graduate in August with a bachelors in Italian and a minor in Music. I'm finishing up my first semester in my senior year and am about to go into the hardest semester ever as I will take 3 very hard Italian classes, will be in University Chorale, take a voice lesson, and another music class for my minor, while trying to work part time and do my church calling.
Life is crazy, back to normal, and great! I am working part time at a jewelry store in Provo called Goldesign, and I LOVE IT! I pitty the man that decides to marry me, though I may receive a large discount, my jewelry tastes have become more...gourmet, if you will, and I will. :)
Life is full of suprises, happy, crazy, back to normal, and great! :)

Trip to California
In June we traveled to Southern California for Dean's Nephew's Wedding in the San Diego Temple. We visited some of our friends, went to Disneyland and the beach. This is a picture of us in front of an old car that Grandpa Fitches owned when he was alive. Grandma Fitches is sitting in the car and we had a great time.
New Members of the "Family"
We have two new additions to the family.
Our niece Holly Wiberg (left) has been staying with us since June while she goes through some surgeries, etc. She is a sweet girl and we enjoy having her around.
In October a good friend joined our household (again) after spending 3 1/2 years in Washington D.C. Barb Jensen(right) is with us so she can finish her para-legal program at a local college. She is deaf and is trying :) to teach us ASL.
Louise's "Hardy" Reunion 2008
Louise's "Hardy" Family Reunion was near Price, Utah in June 2008. We had a great time. Here is all our gang who could attend. The Top Picture: Starting at the left-Richard and Leah White and son Ammon. Becky with Debbie behind. Dean with Ethan Olson, Ary White and Abbie(Abi) in front. Then comes Katie, Emily Olson with Harrison White and Louise at the end.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
We could have spent days in here!
I got to visit Katie in New York in October, 2008. We had a great time seeing many of the familiar sites. We also saw a couple of plays on Broadway. It was great to meet the family she works for and to experience the excitement of the city.
