3 weeks and we are still here!!!

Karson is doing sooo good. He is now up to 2 1/2 hrs trials off of the Bi-pap and doing great.

This is Kars lookin at this mobile thing on his crib, that he absolutly loves it, so his Aunt Sharee went and bought one for him.

Hadley loves to get in the bed with her little bro.

These are some of the MANY friends that Karson has made since being at the hospital. This little girl is named Della. We met her and her family the day that we took Karson into the hospital. She had had a really bad accident while riding a bike with her dad.

This is Christian and Hadley. Christian and his family are from Utah but they live in Israel 9 months out of the year.

This is Kash, he and his family are from Roy and they are really nice people.
Yes it is true. We are still at the hospital. It has been a really long visit but are VERY HAPPY to annouce that Karson is doing soooo good. The last week and a half or so we have been trying to ween him off of the Bi-pap with the goal of 4 hrs. at a time. Right now he is doing 2 1/2 hrs. We are sooo pround of him and so thankful to our Father in heaven. We know that Karson is doing as well as he is becuase the prayers of countless people, priesthood blessings and the faith of his family. We know that he is here just for us and we couldn't be happier.
We do have pictures of Karson off of the BI-pap and for some reason none of them made it on this entry. More to come soon!

A Day AT The Zoo

One of the MANY perks to an extended stay at the hospital is free zoo tickets. So Saturday while Mary stayed with Karson, Jody and I took Hadie to zoo. One of the main highlights of the trip was when the gorilla reached back and took a poo in his hand and then, much to the delight of many onlookers, ate it. The gorillas never disappoint. It was good to have two-on-one with Hadie, visist has been hard on her as well. I am so glad that she is such a good girl.

We're baaacckk!

Karson on his ventilator. Notice the little "button" on his stomach, that is his G-tube and that is how we are going to feed him from now on.

Mommy and Karson after his surgery. Notice no NJ-tube in his nose, Yeah!!!

The Child Life Specialists made this cute poster for Karson to hang on his wall.

Big sister loves "her" baby!

His strength and patience inspire me!

We are back at Primarys. Last Saturday and Sunday Karson threw up some formula, which is not good because he can aspirate. So Sunday his pediatrician said that we should take him to Ogden Regional to have his chest X-rayed to check to the position of his NJ feeding tube and make sure that he had not aspirated. His NJ was out of his intestine and coiled in his stomach but as far as they could tell he had not aspirated. But he sounded horrible and he only got worse Monday. So Tuesday we decided that we needed to make the trek back to Primarys. The poor little buy was really struggling to breathe. After a few hours in the E.R. he was admitted to the PICU were he was doing much better. We decided to go home and get some rest only to receive a call at 1:00 a.m. reassuring us Karson was O.K. now but that he had coded. Which means that his heart rate dropped and he stopped breathing. We were freaked out! It happened right after his cough assist so they don't know if it was a mucus plug or if they had hit the vagel nerve causing his heart rate to plummet. But for whatever reason it happened they had to put him on a ventilator. Anyway through luck and Heavenly Father we were able to get in to a pediatric surgeon for Karson's G-tube 2 days after he was admitted. This is a blessing because it usually takes weeks and they would have had to take him off the ventilator and then put him back on for surgery. Which would have been hard on the little guy. Not to mention that his G-tube got ride of the nose tube as well as eliminated the chance of aspiration from his formula. SOooo here we are waiting for him to recover for surgery and a possible aspiration. He's a fighter so we are hoping for the best.

Jo and Baboo

Two beauties!!

Giddie Up!

Hadie is such a Ham!

Much to Jody's disgust I always tell her that I am a Cowboy and that I want to buy a cowboy hat. There is only one problem, my head is way to big and I would have to special order one and I don't want one that bad. So I live vicariously through Hadley.
