On March 27th, August turned one! I feel like being here near him has been one of the biggest blessings of our move. I have never been able to be so close with another niece or nephew and it is such a special relationship! Jolene asked me to make cookies for his party and gave me pictures of his plates and napkins to use as patterns. I was pleased with how they came out and everyone in Jolene's family likes my cookies, so I got a lot of nice compliments! Maybe it can be a tradition that I make him cookies each year? It seems to be the only way I can make the time to do it.
The party was a lot of fun and August is so darn cute! He didn't really like his cake, but I think that was mostly because he had it all over his hands! The kids had a blast playing out back with Uncle Ash!
I'm so happy we were here to celebrate!

Tennis lessons
Sarah and Joshua took a six week tennis class through Park and Rec this spring. They loved it! I felt like I got my money's worth because there were only two other kids in the class, so it was almost like a private lesson! Elizabeth ran around picking up tennis balls and the 45 minutes went quickly. I don't know if they will do it again or not, but it was a sport that seemed easier to take them to and watch than some others where they just stand around all the time waiting for something or someone!
