A New Blog and Back to Blogging

I'm not sure if anyone ever checks our blog anymore but if you do, I was sick of paying google for extra storage on my old blog and had to make a decision. I either A) just pay google, it isn't much just $2.50 a month ($30 a year) or B) Find another solution. I thought about it for awhile and decided I didn't want to lose our families memories and really needed to get back to blogging. The boys love looking through our blog and at all of the pictures.

I finally decided to created a new blog and still have this old blog. For the new blog I just added a 2 to the end of the web address, it is www.dirkmaatfamily2.blogspot.com. The new blog is still private so if you want an invite let me know by commenting or emailing me at southernbelleang@hotmail.com and I will add you. Hopefully this isn't too confusing, sorry.

I am still going to be horrible at back dating most posts, going through spurts where I post a ton of new posts in one day, but I figure a recorded memory is better than no memory, right?

Titus is 2 months!

I can't believe Titus is 2 months! We went for his 2 month appointment today and he was 14.63 pounds, 25.5 inches. He is a big boy, but not quite as big as Ryker and Kai were at this point. He had to get shots. :( I hate when they have to get shots. He cried and wanted to snuggle. I felt bad, but it needs to be done. Things have been pretty hectic, but I am slowly getting the hang of having 3 kids.

Teri and Ramsey

Today Teri and Ramey King came for dinner and to watch some football. They came from Colorado to go on a big temple trip. I am so glad they took time to come hang out. It was great seeing them. We find ourselves saying often how much we miss them and having them over.

It Snowed!

So far it has been a mild winter. We finally got enough snow today for the boys to go out and play. They were so excited!

Waiting for Carpool

This morning while we were waiting for our neighbor carpool to the bus, I got some pictures of Ryker. He is such a cutie and growing up way too fast.

This was him tonight at Chick-fil-a posing as the elf cow.

Chick-fil-a has family night on Wednesdays and we have been taking advantage of that. When you buy a combo meal you get a free kids meal up to 2. The boys love Mr. Cow, the fun crafts they do and the play place. Most of all I love not having to cook.

Happy Birthday Gerrit

It is always crazy having Gerrit's birthday on Halloween. I started the morning out with haircuts before sending Ryker to school. That's a lot of hair!

Went shopping and made a cake. Lately I have had issues with cake. The hard thing is Gerrit likes moist cakes and so I under cook them a little. Because the cake is so soft it tends to break. So this is the result.

I took the boys shopping to pick out stuff for Gerrit. Kai picked out a BYU hat for Gerrit, Ryker picked him out a new razor, "because daddy has to shave ever day," is what he told me. The boys also picked out some Angry bird shirts and I got him some new warm up pants for flag football.

We went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood before we did cake and presents. We all dressed up in our Angry bird costumes, even me and Titus went. I forgot my camera. I was sad I didn't get pictures, but figured I had take a few at the ward party.
Today when putting the "33" candles on Gerrit's cake, this was the first year I had the "we are getting old!" feeling. I can remember when my mom and dad were 33 I was in kindergarten! Don't worry Gerrit, I still love you even if you are "old." Happy birthday.

I've kind of missed cooking

One thing about being pregnant is I have no desire to really eat or cook. Actually anything food related is a struggle for me when pregnant. Last week we had dinner over at Becky and Richard's and she had made homemade chicken noodle soup. It was so good. I felt ambitious today and made some myself. It was all from scratch, I even made the noodles.

This afternoon I put Titus in an outfit Gerrit's parents gave us when Ryker was little. It is a little faux tux. :)

Feathering Sands Ward Halloween Party

Here we are all dressed up in our Angry Bird Costumes.
Gerrit was the king pig, I was the bomb bird, Ryker and Kai were red birds and Kai was the yellow bird. Poor Titus' hat kept going over his eyes and then he thought it was time to eat since his eyes were covered, silly baby.

Every picture I kept trying to take of Ryker he wouldn't smile for me. (Notice the picture above) I was getting so frustrated, because I couldn't get a good picture of him. I finally asked him why he was being so cranky and he said, "Mom, I'm being an angry bird." Lol! I thought it was so funny he was "in character."

They had a chili cook off for dinner and then the YW & YM had a carnival for the kids. The kids loved it. Here they are showing off their face paintings they got. (Kai picked a lot of his off before I could get a picture.)

Grass Pals

Weeks ago we made these fun grass pals. They were easy and the kids loved making them. Kai's was ready for a hair cut today. He was so excited.

This was a yummy treat my visiting teacher Shannon Kingston brought bye for my birthday. She and Katie Hemingway are the best visiting teachers ever!

30!!

I woke up to breakfast. It was going to be breakfast in bed, but Titus was asleep in his cradle in our room so I didn't want to wake him up. Plus we have 9am church so we didn't have a lot of time before church. Gerrit made bacon eggs and toast. He had the boys draw pictures of a reason why they love me. Kai's picture is on the left and he drew a picture of himself. He did that because I take care of him and because of that he loves me. Ryker's picture is on the right and it is a picture of me and him inside our house. Then he drew a picture of our kitchen window and kids playing outside. He said he loves me because when we see kids outside I let him go out and play. Can you tell what we have spent most of our summer doing? lol I thought it was very sweet and thoughtful, one of my favorite gifts.

After church Eddie, Tommy, Mandy Bryan and Noah all came for dinner. My grandma Betty stopped bye too. Thank you Mandy and Gerrit for putting together a great dinner.

My sister in-law Heather would always make crazy cakes. Since moving back to Utah I have totally missed her crazy cakes. For my birthday this year Gerrit attempted to create a Heather look-alike cake. It wasn't quite the same, but he came close. I loved the candle hanging off the side of the cake. Thanks honey. :)

An old Classic. I got this onesie for Ryker when he was a baby and put it on Titus when I was getting him in his jammies and wanted to get a picture lol. It doesn't get much classier than this.

Thank you everyone for making my birthday such a special day. All of the birthday gifts (my mom put a whole scrapbook together from when I was younger), birthday wishes, cards (I think my favorite one was from my brother Eddie. It was a Wedding card from a husband to a wife a very serious card. He went through and crossed off a bunch of parts and added his own words it is priceless.), calls and Facebook messages. I had a great day and am starting to think being 30 isn't too bad.

Chuck E. Cheese's

Gerrit got a Groupon for Chuck E. Cheese's and wanted to get out. The boys have loved playing air hockey when we go. Here they are with all of their prizes below.
