Polkadoodles Friday

Why is it that times flies by so quickly as you get older, I remember when I was younger a week lasted a week now I'm pretty certain it only lasts about 2 days LOL! I can barely believe it is Friday again, it only seems like a day or two ago when I was last doing this post. I'm sure I go to bed at night and when I wake a couple have days have passed by LOL!

This week over on the Polkadoodle blog it is my turn to set the challenge and as my youngest daughter will be twenty one a week tomorrow,  I thought it would be a good idea to ask to see cards containing an age. I have made a few cards for her from other people and now need some inspiration for my own, so lets see what you've got.
It is also stashbox stamp week and as I don't have a stash of stamps I am once again using a stamped image donated by a friend.

The stamped image is from Magnolia, coloured with Promarkers and the papers from Nikky's latest CD Pretty Sweet, I think these papers fit perfectly with the Magnolia stamps. I have used a couple of Marianne Creatable dies for the circle and corners and Go Kreate dies for the scalloped circles. I have inked around the edges of everything with a brown ink pad and added a little glamour dust to her belt and wings. The ribbon, flower and pearls are from my stash.

You can catch Nikky on Create and Craft today at 10am, 1pm and 4pm where amongst other things she will be showing off the Pretty Sweet CD, you may even get to see a couple of my samples.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team inspiration over on the Polkadoodles blog and you have until Sunday 9th October noon (GMT) to get you entries in, I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Enjoy your weekend, I will be back tomorrow with a Clipart Fairy card so see you then.

Magical Teddy Bo Tuesday

Hope you are all having a magical Teddy Bo Tuesday. I am busy, busy, busy, making Polkadoodle TV samples, looking after my poorly daughter, and falling off my computer chair (and no I hadn't had a drink, unless Dandelion and Burdock counts LOL!).

There is quite a hotch potch of new images in the Teddy Bo Store this week, from soldiers, to a gingerbread bear, a wizard to tobogganing bears and a couple of pre-coloured baby graphics. If you have any ideas for what you would like to see the bears doing, or dressed up as, then drop Gayle a line via the "contact us" link here, if she likes your idea and draws it up, you get the image for free.

This week I have used the new Bea Wizard. I love this image and have coloured her up in five different colour ways, (you know what they say, if the wizard cloak fits, buy it in every colour LOL!)so I expect she may pop up again, wearing one her other outfits!

I have coloured her in Photoshop as usual, but as I have her in five different colours it was very difficult to decide which one to use first, in the end I decided to go with bright and cheery, particularly because I wanted to use the new Yummy papers by the Clipart Fairy. I also used a Cheery Lyn die, and a Stars embossing folder, made the circle sentiment myself, and ribbon and beads are from stash.
For the things with wings challenge element I have added a little owl charm (Bea thinks she's Harry Potter and needed a Hedwig!) which came from Ewe 2 can craft.

You still have until midnight (GMT) Sunday to get your entries into our Things with Wings challenge.
Don't forget to check out all the different things that are happening on the Teddy Bo blogs, we have Wordy Wednesday, Tip Top Tutorial Thursday, Fairy Tale Friday and Sneak Peek Sunday, there is always something happening at Teddy Bo Towers!

Door Hanger Card

Saturday is Clipart Fairy day and the card I have to show you today is based on one of the cards we made at last weeks workshop. I loved  the design of the Peek-a-Boo Penguin card, so decided to make my own version.
The card is quite big at 8 inches square, and I have used the extra panel to hold a door hanger, which can easily be removed from the card by undoing the ribbon.  I have added a pocket to the front of the hanger so that the child could put a cookie for Santa in it before hanging it on their bedroom door on Christmas Eve.

I have used papers from Sassy Snowflake Papers (Red snowflake paper), Winter Words Paper pack (Wordy paper)and Chalky Red papers (striped paper)(which was a freebie on the blog last year and no longer available). Santa and Rudy are here, and the presents came from the Interactive Harlequin Book-a-Easel kit.

There are some freebie Yummy papers on the Clipart Fairy blog and loads of new products going into both the printables and interactive store all the time, the prices are really reasonable, head over, have a look and grab yourself a bargain!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges

Digistamps 4 Joy  - #28 anything goes
Anything Goes Challenge  - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday -1 For The Kids (cards for kids/teenagers)
Lexi's Creations - Card for Child

Things with Wings

That's the theme of the challenge over on the Teddy Bo challenge blog for the next fortnight, and there is a fabulous prize of ten Teddy Bo and Co digi images for the winner.

As I have been extra busy this past week or so I cheated a bit and used an image I had already coloured,
it is available to buy in the store this week
and these pre-coloured images are great if you need to make a card in a hurry.

The papers are Nitwits CrabApple Too collection,
I used a Martha Stewart border punch, a Marianne Die
and a Magnolia DooHicky butterfly die.
Ribbon is from stash.

There will be another fabulous colouring tutorial coming up on Top Tip Thursday, this time around using colouring pencils, and if you haven't already checked out the Promarker tutorial you can find it here under Teddy Bo's Top Tips.

Don't forget to pop over to the Teddy Bo Challenge blog and check out the rest of the DT inspiration.

I won't be around much this week as Meg is in respite and Eric has taken a few days holiday, we are planning a few trips out over the next couple of days, one of them to the new museum which has just opened here in Liverpool down at the Pier Head, after watching it being built over the last couple of years I am really looking forward to seeing inside it.

Forever friends Guest DT

You may remember a few weeks ago I was picked as the Forever Friends favourite and got myself a guest design team spot, well I was picked again for my Stork card and this is my card for the Guest Design spot this time around.
The challenge is a sketch and is being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads, the winner will receive five digi downloads of their choice

Sketch

I was given a Di's digi downloads image to play with, so combined with the sketch
this is what I came up with.

I rotated the sketch 180 degrees, and used papers and leaf graphics from Nitwits Not Too Far To Fall kit.

The cute little image is called Do Not Feed the Bearcrow and can be found here. I coloured the digi in Photoshop and the only extra thing I added is some raffia around the oval mat that the image sits on.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges

Pile It On - Colours of Fall/Autumn

Clipart Fairy September Workshop

Well yesterday was a very busy day at Wendy's Workshop, we made eight Christmas cards in all. Thought I would show you what we did. Wendy loves her tent cards and quite a few of them were made that way, but I prefer regular opening cards, so I adapted each of them to open the way I like.

Anyway here they are................

Joy wordbook, RTP can be found here
Another Karen Middleton Image, the inside contains the rest of the poem, RTP found here Snowflakes die cut from card and acetate, sprayed with adhesive and sprinkled with glamour dust.
This card has an extra panel inside containing the word snow, which carries on from the tag on the front. The RTP version can be found here, interactive here
You can find this alpha set here

A different colour for the Karen Middleton image this time around, the RTP version can be found here.
Quickie card, so very easy to make if you want to make lots in a hurry! RTP set here, coloured white pompoms and ribbon with Promarkers to match.
Gorgeous Silent Night card, RTP version here, interactive version here

Sending Love

Yesterday was my wedding anniversary and Eric and I spent a lovely evening in.....................Ikea!!!
We were buying Stacy the furniture for the new baby's bedroom, and as there is only about 6 weeks to go until he's due, she wanted to get it sorted out. Eric will probably be spending Sunday building it all for her as her partner Neill is pretty useless at DIY.

Today is Clipart Fairy day and this week I have made a central stepper using papers and a girl graphic from Winter Girls Hats Off set 5. This set contains: 1 PNG girl graphic without a hat, 2 PNG graphics of girl with a hat, facing opposite ways, 1 PNG hat graphic , 4 PNG wordarts and 13 Jpeg 12 x 12 papers all for only £1.50. I have also used the Postbox graphic. The Poinsettia and swirls are Marianne Creatables dies and the ribbon is from stash. Sentiment panel is computer generated.

I'm off to the Clipart Fairy's workshop this morning, it's all about Christmas cards today and I believe we will be making 7 items in total including some 8 inch x 8 inch cards and a notebook. I will show you some piccies in the week.

Have a great weekend!

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas.......Card!

It's Friday, so that can only mean one thing here at Digiredoodah - Polkadoodle challenge time. This week's challenge theme was set by Enfys and it is called......
"Whiteout".
Make an all white card, any theme, but apart from black ink for stamping/printing, just white please. Glitter, bling and embossing allowed.
These are the guidelines Enfys gave us, and this is what I came up with.

I really enjoyed this challenge, it's quite difficult to make an all white card, but hopefully I've pulled it off.

I made an easel card using a Go Kreate Large Frames Scalloped Circle die, I cut a couple of smaller scalloped circles and embossed them with Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder, then rubbed a Brilliance Moonlight White Ink pad across the top of the embossing, which has given the snowflakes a pearly sheen. I printed a snowflake from the Magical Winter I CD directly onto white card, cut it out with a Nestie Circle die and then glued crystals into place on the snowflake design. I also printed the sentiment directly onto white card and cut that out using a Spellbinders Fleur de Lys accents die. Everything was edged with glamour dust. I used the CREAlies CL CS 04 die to cut holly leaves and added pearls as berries. Ribbon, gems and pearls all from stash.

What do you think?

Head over to the Polkadoodle blog and check out all the wonderful white creations by my fellow teamies.

You have until Sunday 25th September Noon (GMT) to enter the challenge and we are looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Teddy Bo Tuesday

Where are the days going, they just seem to be flying by, (in fact so do the years). September in our household is one of those months where there are more occasions than days in the month! LOL!
Last week both my MIL and BIL had a birthday, this Thursday my Grandson will be celebrating his sixth birthday, (it seems like only yesterday when he was born,)  and the following day is my wedding anniversary. Sunday is my Nephew's birthday, two days later my SIL's wedding anniversary, and it goes on like this all month. As fast as I am making a card, it is being sent off to a recipient.

Today's Teddy Bo Tuesday card has been made using one of this week's new images, with Autumn almost upon us, our thoughts are turning to leaves on the ground, pumpkins, and halloween, so the new images are starting to reflect this.

For my card I used "Leaf Angel" this gorgeous image reminds me of a snow angel, but with leaves instead.
I have coloured her in Photoshop, and made a bit of a fancy tent card!!! The maple leaf paper is a freebie from My Memories, the spotty paper is Clipart Fairy Autumn Mello' and the cardstock is from stash.
I used a Nellie Snellen die for the corners and an X-cut die to cut out the middle, I cut it once then moved it around and cut again to give me the opening in the frame. The front scalloped edge is a Martha Stewart border punch, ribbon and flowers are from stash.
To be honest I am really not pleased with the way it turned out, it seemed like a good idea when I started it, but before it was finished I knew I wasn't happy with it, the trouble is I had been working on it all day and didn't have time to start another, so I had to use it.

Don't forget to head over to the challenge blog and check out all the fabulous inspiration from my teamies.

You still have until Sunday 18th midnight (GMT) to enter the Teddy Bo - Say it with Flowers challenge. The lucky winner gets to pick ten Teddy Bo images of their choice! We are also having another DT call as we have lost a few members recently, details will be going up on the Teddy Bo blog tomorrow, and have you had a look at Teddy Bo's Top Tips, over on the Teddy Bo and Co blog. There is a fab tutorial from Jill, showing you how to make a Post-it note holder easel card, and if you make one yourself and show it to us you will get a free Teddy Bo image as a thank you. Check it out here.

Clipart Fairy Freebies

After collecting the freebies on the Clipart Fairy blog yesterday I thought I would make a couple of cards using them, and these are what I came up with.

The first one is using the freebie here plus Rose Garden papers for the flower, a sentiment from Wendys Wordart and the panel comes from the Rose Garden booklet.

I made the flower using Tim Holtz's tattered florals die, and the swirls are a sizzix die, everything was edged in brown ink and the flower was crumpled, opened up, spritzed with glimmer mist, crumpled again etc., until I had got the look I wanted. The pearl brad in the centre came from Hobby House (I think). Pearls are from stash and the glittered card for the swirls is from Craft Creations. There is also a sprinkling of glamour dust.

I used the plain insert (part of the freebie) and left it blank so that you could write your own message.

My second card uses the freebie here.

I re-sized the freebie to a rough A5 size and printed it out onto the right hand side of a landscape piece of A4 card., folded it down the centre, used some pegs to hold it together and then through both layers, leaving the parts of the design that touched the crease line in tact.
I printed a second copy and very carefully cut the image from the centre, (I can save this and use it to make another card, waste not, want not! LOL!) and then cut around the outside edge of the frame, and attached a piece of acetate over the opening. I stuck shaker tape around the edge of the image on my base card, sprinkled in some small beads and snowflake sequins and then fixed the acetate panel into place on top.
The snowflakes are made from a nestability die, cut from pink card, I brushed watered down tacky glue over them and then dipped them in glamour dust.
I made the sentiment panel on the computer. Ribbon and gems are from stash.

I used a freebie paper, (no longer available) for the insert, plus the matching snowman and penguin, which I bought last year.

Hope you like them and they have given you some ideas for using the freebies.

Shake, Rattle and Roll!

You may have noticed that I often use song titles for my blog posts, I can't help myself, if I hear a sentence or conversation or just a word that reminds me of a song, it just springs into my mind and I end up singing it all day.  Well today it's Shake, Rattle and Roll and all because I have made a rocker/shaker card, it's full of little tiny beads, so  it does actually shake, rattle and roll (well rock really, but am using artistic licence there LOL!)

For this card I have used one of the Create-your-own graphic sets from the Clipart Fairy store? these super little sets come with the two girls, but they're armless, awwh! also included is a couple of arms in different poses, and some extra bits and pieces to make up your own design. How brilliant is that?!.
I've used Emma and Erin Create Your Own Graphics - Lilac set, there is also a blue set and a pink set.
For only 99p you get all this...

Emma & Erin Flowers Create Your Own Graphics- LILAC SET

I put the images together to create the two girls holding hands one with a bunch of  flowers and the other a plant. I printed them out twice and layered them onto a scalloped circle I had made in Photoshop using papers from the Gorgeous Papers 5 set, ( I love these papers, and this set contains my two all time favourite colours, turquoise and lilac/purple), I added a HunkyDory shaker dome, with lots of little no hole beads and nail art sequins in it and covered it with a matching frame. I also made the scalloped rocker base in Photoshop, and the word art circle. I printed some of the papers from the set onto pearlescent paper, and die cut some spiral roses with a Marianne Creatables die. The swirl is a Magnolia Doo Hickey. I also printed out the little bird and sat him on the swirl. My card also has quite a bit of glamour dust to add some sparkle.

You may have noticed my girls have a mouth, they freak me out when they don't have one, so I just have to add one!

It also has a matching insert, but I forgot to take a photo!

There are quite a few create your own sets with different graphics in, so pop over to the store and take a look, and while you are there check out the Gorgeous Paper sets too.

There is also a couple of freebies over on the Clipart Fairy blog, go here and here to snag them.

Setting the scene with Polkadoodles

This week at Polkadoodles the challenge theme is
Setting the Scene
We are looking for creations where the focal point on your project must be a scene.

For my design team project this week I have made up a little scene using elements from both Magical Winter part 1 and Magical Winter part 2, and covered it with a Hunky Dory snow globe filled with beads, snowflake sequins and glittery stuff. I made a scalloped frame using paper from the same CD's and attached the whole thing to a rocker card, again using paper and a sentiment from the CD's. The snowflake is made from a mix of Marianne Creatables snowflake dies, covered in glamour dust, a silver punched snowflake and a gem added to the centre.

Pop over to the Polkadoodle challenge blog to see the fabulous inspirations from my team mates, we would love to see what wonderful scenic creations you can come up with and you have until Sunday 18th September midday (GMT) to enter.

Saying it with flowers on Teddy Bo Tuesday

Team A are the hosts for the next fortnights challenge over on the Teddy Bo challenge blog and the theme this time around is
Say it with Flowers.
We would love to see all your fabulous floral creations containing a Teddy Bo and Co image.

I have used one of this weeks new images for my card. Last week I made a baby boy card, so this time around I thought I would make a baby girl card.

The image is coloured in Photoshop and I used some of the Clipart Fairy's Gorgeous Papers One (the papers are gorgeous and called Gorgeous too!). I made the sentiment circle myself and the ribbon and flowers are from stash. If you look closely you will also be able to notice a little bit of glamour dust here and there.

Make sure you head over to the Teddy Bo challenge Blog and check out all the other fabulous creations by my team mates, it's definitely worth a visit.

We now have a fantastic new look store, so much easier to navigate and you now get instant downloads, so what are you waiting for, pop over and check it out!

I also have a small favour to ask, my niece Kate runs her own business, a drama and creative arts organisation working with children, young people and communities, and they have been nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award which will be decided by public vote, so if you could click on the link below and vote for them then that would be amazing. It’s really simple to do (no big forms or personal info needed – just your email address!) and I will, of course, let you know how they get on.  The awards event is at the end of September and voting closes soon.

Here’s the link: http://www.enterprisevisionawards.co.uk/creative_industry.php look for Kate Gorst -Altru Drama, there is also some info there, telling you what her company is all about.
Thank you so much for your help.
