Caroline K ‎– "Now Wait For Last Year" (Earthly Delights ‎– EARTH 001) 1987

The Sister-in-Law of the group for Nocturnal Emissions was Caroline K. Yes, she was Married to Nigel Ayers (Mr Nocturnal) brother. Whether this qualified her for the group, or she was already in before the nuptials is up for conjecture, but she did manage a solo album before her early death.
Don't expect an Industrial classic here, because she was obviously a German Kosmische fan.You know, those Electronic albums from the 1970's which basically involved huge banks of modular synthesisers, and a long haired West German to rest his hands on the keys and jiggle his chunky fingers about a bit.Taking note of this albums Phillip K. dick-ensian title;think Vangelis' Phillip K. Dick movie soundtrack and you ain't far off what we have served up here.Lots of reverb laden synth pads and slow chord changes, and a slow tempo drum box marking 4/4 time with a string of dull thuds.
It reminds me more of those post '77 German electronic albums, done when no-one was interested anymore, and synthesisers had been made more user friendly. She ain't no Cosey Fanni Tutti clone that's for sure.

Nocturnal Emissions ‎– "Live At Ritzy Brixton 9 June 1983" (Cause For Concern ‎– CFC 026) 1983

On the night of Thatcher's 1983 re-election, after the ludicrous Falklands Conflict;Industrial utility players, Nocturnal Emissions appeared at the Ritzy in Brixton to commiserate with the like-minded masses of the apolitical majority. A slow decent into greed and the erosion of hard fought for freedoms began here; now accelerating beyond belief.

The tape appears to be split into a live side and a studio side, although there’s no mention of this anywhere on the insert. Side A has the Brixton gig, and the B-side seems to have 13 short but doomy instrumental pieces, which seem to capture nicely the depressing atmosphere of The Iron Lady's tightened grip on power. The concert is an expression of malevolent anger at the direction that 40% of the British public had 'chosen'; democracy in action? Thirty years of mealy mouthed unbridled capitalism followed, with frequent military “interventions”, profiteering and fear-mongering. Leaving the planet in the tense and vulnerable state it is in today. Susceptible to emergency measures for our own 'security',and sinister nonsense such as puppet minister Cameron wanting to opt out of the Convention for Human Rights on the grounds that it was outdated and set up to avoid Dictatorships after world war two. This is the very reason we need it in place to stop the inevitable creep to the dictatorship with no visible dictator that we will have in the near future, if not already had for 30 years! Think this is paranoid nonsense? Then why has the UK government ignored the EU directive to stop databasing all e-mails and phone calls, and in fact rushed through legislation to even increase the snooping powers on its own people! Not to mention our pals in the NSA doing it as well!......oh yes....of course, its for our security isn't it.I forgot, its those masses of Jihadists that are slaughtering everyone in the west that are to blame. (Whoops! I typed a keyword to trigger NSA alarms......in fact I'll do it again.....Jihad......Bomb....9/11 denial...Michael Moore...etc)

Nocturnal Emissions music is the perfect doom laden ,cloudy soundtrack to this fraudulent conspiracy fact. But,according to government representatives, conspiracies have never existed before, have they? We've only had Christianity,Islam, the CIA, Mossad, the Rothschild financed Nazi Holocaust , The Soviet Union, and the biggest conspiracy of all, the Banking and Money system, among many others.

The music of conspiracy FACT!

Various Artists ‎– "The Elephant Table Album" (X Tract ‎– XX 001) 1983

Companion album to "Three Minute Symphony" compiled, again, by Dave Henderson ,late of the now defunct Sounds newspaper.Full of great tracks, even the 400 Blows track is fantastic, i think they went downhill fast after this single.
Its not perfect, (which is perfection?), as The Legendary Pink Dots do only a mildly irritating version of their Syd Barrett fans play with casiotone keyboards and pots'n'pans stuff.....still made me wanna punch somebody though!
We also got a minimal Coil track which is virtually a slow TR808 solo; dare to be minimal!
SPK on the cusp of becoming total Shite, the excellent Lustmord, Portion Control transmuting into their nasty vocals phase(which i'm not too enamoured about).
To sum it all up, it has its faults, but  a classic old school Industrial compilation, and a great starting point for the Industrial virgin to catch the 80's underground In flagrante delicto! (I don't really speak Latin by the way!)

Nocturnal Emissions - "Sterile Records 1980 - 1983"

Nocturnal Emissions, slang for farting in bed is it not(actually its a scientific term for a 'Wet Dream')? Wrong, its a second generation Industrial group from the uk, active from about 1980 to the present day. Formed by Nigel Ayers and Caroline K (RIP), they were part of the cassette culture of the early eighties via their own label, Sterile Records. The early part of which one has posted here. This period was, in my opinion, Nocturnal Emissions finest moments. Lots of lo-fi distorted tape loops and crude electronics, heavily influenced, obviously,by Throbbing Gristle and Industrial Culture; based on the standard themes of Mind Control, information overload, and other Borroughsian concepts.
Industrial Music was and is theee most easy musick to create for those with no musical skill whatsoever. A couple of tape recorders, and a crap synthesizer and you're up and running. Its also pretty difficult not to make it sound good either, which is demonstrated admirably on these five releases on Sterile from 1980 to 1983. After which,Caroline K left, leaving the project as solely a Nigel Ayers solo vehicle, which continues to this very day.
Probably the best of their early works has to be "Drowning in a sea of Bliss", but they are all prime examples of how to play great non-rock music without any chords whatsoever- this is what punk rock should have sounded like from day zero.
