Back in the day if you could afford a cheapo synth and a cassette recorder you could easily emulate your synth wielding hero's by just twisting a few knobs and pressing play and record. The result was an international dumpster of sounds exactly like this tape. As for underlying themes, they could be just as easily assimilated from the burgeoning Industrial underground, y'know,torture, human primitives,Nazi Death Camps,systems of control,Blah Blah Blah. All a bit prdictable really,but it looked good,sounded ok no matter what you did,and was eaaaaaaassy.

Noizeclot ‎– "Music For Torture, Bondage & Leather Sex" (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX-10) 1984

 

Staying on the theme of pervy sex,here we have a fake band called,rather attractively,Noizeclot;which was a short lived Inner-X-Musick project that utilized distorted tapes/noise instead of traditional instruments. The members of the group were listed as Andrew Barry, Grayem Carrol, and Sue Zan, but in recent years John Zewizz confirmed that this was in reality just another of his solo projects and that the band members were completely made up.Cheeky Sod!

According to Inner-X-Musick, Noizeclot is: "Pure noise, control of distortion and extreme sound. Antisocial music for those who have other interests, other than what the masses are interested in."....I saw that explanation and was mildly amused that Zewizz had just described myself,just like this blog is written for the same archetypal person described above. For the decerning Misanthrope..... with hobbies.

The music for torture part of the title,doesn't really apply, as the US Gestapo at Guantanamo Bay used Barney The Dinosaur and AC/DC played at ear blistering levels for hours on end as their torture weapons of Choice. I'd be admitting to the JFK assaination,9/11,anything, to get it to stop,even to voting Conservative, within the first few notes of the theme tune to Barney the Dinosaur,or even quicker when Barney sings the "I Love You" song! Horrific stuff that John Zewizz wishes he could equal only in his dreams!Pure Liquid Evil!

As for the noise on this tape,by modern standards this is pretty mild.Fuzzy warm background noise for flotation tanks or shopping malls.Most certainly not for room 101 in any interrogation center.

For my eternal shame, I did briefly glance at that Facebook video of those two nordic female backpackers being beheaded by Islamic morons in Morroco,and to my shock as the blade touched her neck she screamed "OW!...OW!"...I stopped the stream to avoid the calling for her mother part,but too late it traumatized me for days after......don't be tempted kids,its not like watching "I Spit On Your Grave".Apparently the motive may have been 'sexual' rather than religious extremism,said the Cops.

Slow and painful Sex? That brings back some other terrible traumatic memories.Although the pain in my case was psychological,usually involving a emotional battering or two.The 'slow' part never entered, so to speak, the equation.As quick as possible wins the race, or as drunk as possible.

Sex is usually responsible for ruining peoples lives,be it an unwanted pregnacy, leading to life crushing parenthood,or getting abused from all angles in the name of love!? Either way celebacy is roundly recommended.Which also provides the added bonus of no AIDS or syphilis problems too.Its a win win situation...no?

Listening to this John Zewizz side,semi-solo, project,it sounds like he agrees.....but that can't be true,as he seems to be obsessed with all thing carnal in his other projects?This stuff is more from the Chris Carter side of early Industrial, with lots of synthesizer experimentation, tapes, and "found" vocals from TV.

If you want your sex slow and painful, then I recommend listening to this or any 'Women of the SS' tapes,and a wank, rather than open that pandora's box of humiliation and pain for real.Its like football...keep it simple.......or, keep it single?

Why is it that most of these skew-whiffed Industrial copyists can't spell?

Also,It is said that glam blond nazi battleaxe,Irma Grese,used to prowl around the lice ridden accomodation of Auschwitz with her Tits out looking for sex slaves of all gender types, to pleasure her before she had them killed once they had literally outlived their usefullness.......which was utter crap,and just another small chapter in mythologising The Holocaust, turning it into something to rival the gods of ancient Greece.So much mispreporting, fact distortion, and just pure 'making stuff up' has become accepted as fact. John Zewizz, head honcho of Women of the SS, is a kind of Hugh Hefner figure who peddles this bizarre need in people to manifest the spirit of Sado-Masochism in the form of a female camp guard with her knockers out,which will have you running into the gas chambers after pleading to be thoroughly whipped.....apparently this was common behaviour by the Jews,commies,Gays,and Gypo's in the camps....as legend will soon tell us. The new Nazi religion encapsulates all the essentials for God-fearin' folks, there's a Heaven;The Nazi Party & State, a purgatory, The Gestapo prisons, a Hell, The Extermination Camps, and a benevolent God with a wrathful temperament....Uncle Adolf.In fact there ain't much in the Bible that you won't find also happening in the Third Reich

In fact, if the Nazi's had won,there would have been only this one religion,and consequently the end of war....and we'd all have great sex lives,with free shiny boots.....maybe it will still happen.

The sad thing is that John Zewizz would have been put to death for making such degenerate music as this.

Sleep Chamber - "Musik For Mannequins" (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX-C4) 1984

 Boston USA(not Boston, Lincs,UK) S+M Fan, and Industrial culture perv,John Zewizz, aka John McSweeny, of Women of the SS fame; was, and still is,making Sleep Chamber records from about 1980. This is a rather artfully produced cassette from the early 80's.Sounds rather like Skinny Puppy fronted by Mr Bean on mogadon and viagra; not that I've heard Skinny Puppy since the 1980's, but my memory tells me they sounded like this, albeit a more in yer face version of Sleep Chamber's more creepy random synth arpegiator driven toons. Not a patch on Women of the SS in my humble opinion;it has a certain period charm that has dated badly; but the same 'dark' sexual themes  dominate, and can get quite tiresome. Give it a try, it certainly lived up to its group moniker, and sent me to sleep; although my dreams weren't exactly comfortable, or, regrettably, sexual!

Sleep Chamber ‎– "W:O:M" (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX-14) 1985

Ohhh! Thats a bit rude innit? Nazi's or Lesbo sex on yer cassette cover is an assured way of getting noticed. The trouble with Sleep Chamber is He (John Zewizz) means it! Easy way out lowest common denominator shock value, can often be used to mask a lack of creativity, or "talent". In this case, this is sort of true, but I kinda like it. Mr. Bean on mogadon makes another appearance reciting bad echo-laden poetry over a backing of half-assed synth sequences, with some terrrible analogue drum programming(by someone called Darline Victor); it almost sounds improvised,which if true, would make this a fine work indeed! I dunno weather I love or Hate this generic kind of Industrial musik, 'cus every time I listen to it, i think I could be doing this myself instead of sitting around doing nothing! Well, sometimes its good to relax and let some creepy american geezers do it for you. Would prefer a variety of themes though, as opposed to constant obessions with taboo sexual practices. N.b. : - W:O:M stands for Weapons ov Magick by the way! Alluding to another immensely boring over-subscribed subject, Aliester Crowley.....Yawn. Women Of The SS - "Women Of The SS" (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX-09) 1984

The creation of some pervy yank called John Zewizz (aka John McSweeny). On first glance this oozes frustrated sexual fantasy of some creepy looking bloke who's heard Throbbing Gristle......(always at least six years after the fact for most US Industrial acts outside of San Francisco). The despicable Female exploitation factor is genuinely stomach churning, and I was ready to chuck this cassette in the dustbin of cock rock with absolute fucking shite like Motley Crue. But, one must say this stuff is probably my favourite Industrial act, musically, just behind TG ,who were far superior conceptually, along with just about everybody else in this over populated genre. I could listen to this stuff for hours, even though this isn't the best WOTSS release by far. Its like a sound collage of radio broadcasts received 75 light years from earth, which would explain the Bund Deutscher Mädel (The League of German Maidens) anthem heard on side 2. That mixed with old TV soundtracks topped off with various muffled moans, cackles, and dodgy poetry, read by,probably, semi-clad females with Swastika armbands, makes for a creepy experience. One way for an ugly fucker to surround himself with Sadomasochistic pulchritude is to call it "Art" and hope for the best. I think that's what is mainly happening here; but accidently it sounds quite good indeed. Or am I a pervy fucker too?

Women Of The SS ‎– "Rigor Romance" (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX 25) 1985

Basically a load of sounds, including lots of muffled SS female groaning, shoved through an analogue echo chamber, for 60 minutes. Some would call this a sound collage. Put anything through  an echo device and it sounds good. So from the craft angle, 2 out of ten;musical innovation for 1985, 2 out of ten; as a Women of the SS release,5 out of ten. This represents what I don't  like about the Industrial genre; the generic nature of the technique, which can be done by anyone, if they could be arsed. Its not innovative, or difficult, but it is effective. I could shit out a cassette like this every night, but it seems so pointless.But I don't mind listening to someone else doing it for me; and this ain't a bad example. Although not one of the best WOTSS titles. This was made by that creepy bloke from Sleep Chamber.....so I guess I should put up a couple of Sleep Chamber Cassettes next, huh?

Women Of The SS ‎– "The Call To All Women... " (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX 43) 1986

 This is the best Women of the SS cassette. Brimming with throbbing drones and muffled female voices submerged in the fog of third generation ferric oxide. Sexy death camp chic at its very best; not that there is much competition in that most exclusive of genres. We are treated to a two track tribute to the "Angel of Auschwitz", Irma Grese; who, amusingly, allegedly had an affair with "The Angel of Death" , Josef Mengele. Two 'angels' shagging each other in an extermination facility paints a surreal picture worthy of the Chapman brothers; those enfants terriblé of Brit Art. Now, below we have a picture of the.....er...angel of Auschwitz, looking a bit like Genesis P. Orridge after a bad night out. As you can see, she, as a woman of the SS, was not aversed to wearing a sexy outfit. Note the revealing woolen skirt, hitched up to just below the breastline, with wooly tights (probably non-crotchless) disappearing into some shiny leather boots.Oooooh(heavy breathing), and that tank top, mmmmm sexy. A face that sunk a thousand ships.

Obviously, this puts the Women of the SS project deep into the sad male fantasy arena, but at the same time explains a lot about male sexuality; so that in itself makes this a valid Industrial document. Oh, and its sounds great too! Imagine the lovely Irma herself, screaming into your shell-likes as shes beating you with an iron bar: "ACHTUNG DUMMKOPF! You vill be downloading zis, or DIE!"

Women Of The SS ‎– "Woman Iz Beast" (Inner-X-Musick ‎– XXX 20) 1985

This group seems to be popular with a lot of subordinate young men out there!? It does seem to have that lowest common denominator appeal. The sad fact is, breasts and Swastikas get peoples attention.Especially the attention of you randy little 'erberts out there in the interweb. I bet you lot wish we lost the war! Sadly, I can now reveal that the real women of the SS did not walk around, scantily clad, in crotchless fishnet stockings and rubber peek-a-boo bras.As immortalised in The Bleach Boys' outsider punk classic, "Stocking Clad Nazi death Squad Bitches". But, having seen pictures of these animals, they were usually ugly, in standard female ss uniforms.Not at all sexy.....hang on I think i'm getting a twitcher!? Uh Hum .....Swiftly move on......... That aside, the music on this c-60 is rather marvellous. A creepily ethereal mixture of ambient noise, electronica and some saucy female oral work.(please excuse the pun, but I had to squeeze it in somewhere, phnarr phnarr!) This is far superior to their admittedly  excellent, but flawed, first eponymously titled cassette to be featured soon. Enjoy, BUT NOT TOO MUCH please. Now RAUS!
