Halloween 2009

Sarah decided that this year she would be Mulan. Isn't she a beautiful Chinese princess.

Since Chandler's a little too old to dress up, he just put on a cowboy hat

and went out with his friends to "beg for candy", I neglected to get a photo of him.

We trick-or-treated with the Talbots and the Olivers.

We visited Ganus' fabulously decorated house.

Then we had pizza and a good game of Carcasonne for the adults!

This was a really fun Halloween.

Fall Retreat

New Photoshop techniques

I'm so lucky to have great friends that will teach me how to use some of the cool features of Photoshop. I'm pretty good at the technique parts of Photoshop, but Ali taught me so really cool things. This was my first practice photo.

My trip down the stairs

The day before Labor Day was not my best day. First, right before church, I stubbed my toe and broke it. Then later that night, I was going down the stairs and I didn't get to the bottom the right way. I rolled my ankle and something snapped. I figured I had sprained my ankle really bad, so I iced it and I thought I'd be better the next day. On Labor Day, we had planned to go on a bike ride as a family, but since my ankle was still hurting, I decided to stay home. When they came home, I was in so much pain, I had Shane take me to Instacare. After a few x-rays they determined that yes, I had broken my toe and fibula on my right leg. The fracture is a twisted complete fracture about 5 inches above my ankle. So I've been in a boot case for the last couple of weeks and I can't drive.

Summer Dance Recital

Sarah performed her Summer Dance Recital tonight. It was really cute. They danced to Mercy by Duffy. I videotaped it again with my wonderful friend Deanna's camera, but since I still don't know how to edit it for blogger, it will remain on my computer till I learn how. In the meantime, here are a few fun pictures of Sarah in her costume.

Family Pics

August 1st was Shane's parent's 50th Anniversary Party (although their anniversary isn't until Nov). Since all 8 of the siblings were going to be in Utah, we decided to have a big family photo. I got a recommendation for Jessica LeBaron from a friend, so we had her and her sis-in-law Kayla do our photos. I think they turned out really nice. We took these shots at the Lehi Railroad Museum and a couple nearby buildings.I'll post some of the big family when I get the disc.

Stay-cation - No Camera

I lost my camera on the Alpine Coaster in Park City. I'm so sad. I had some really fun pictures of our little vacation to Park City. We went up on the 4th and stayed till Shane's B-day on the 6th. We went biking on the trails in Park City, which was really fun (but I'm not sure my rear end would say the same). We swam in the pool at night. We went on the Alpine Slide and then on the Alpine Coaster, it was so fun, till the end when I realized my camera was no longer in my pocket. I rode a bike longer than I think I have even ridden, having never had a bike from the time I was about 10, it's true you don't forget how to ride, but I didn't get a bike again till last year and we only really rode around the neighborhood a couple times. I believe we logged about 7-8 miles the first day and 4 miles the second day. It was fun and I learned that helmets that are too small are not comfortable (I was sized for a youth size helmet a few years ago, but since then I've found out they have nicer ladies helmets that are small for people like me, now I just need to get one).

Hopefully I'll have a camera again soon, so I can post pictures again.

Sarah's Recital

Sarah's dance recital was really cute. The theme was Dances all over the World. Sarah danced to Kokomo. I'm not good at videography, and this was my first try with my camera, so please forgive the shakiness.

- so I need to learn how edit videos so I can post them, after hours of waiting for it to download, I gave up. I'll post a couple pics soon!

Tonight as I picked up Sarah from dance class, her friend Beka and her mom Katie were just leaving. Before I pulled in, Beka told her mom, "We can't leave Sarah here by herself." Sarah replied, "That's okay, I have the Holy Ghost, I won't ever be alone".

Sarah's Baptism

Sarah chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Today was her baptism and it was so special. The weather was nice, family and friends came and Sarah felt the spirit.

Lava Hot Springs

I love Lava Hot Springs, especially in the winter when Shane and I get the chance to go for a weekend away and spend time with friends playing games, soaking in the hot tubs and just generally relaxing and forgetting all of our cares.
This is a photo of the funny little place we like to stay - the Oregon Trail Lodge. It's no Hilton, but it's a great place to stay in Lava.

We had a great time and it's really too bad that I am terrible at remembering to take photos - like pictures of our white elepants (so funny) or how about photos of all of the couples - what an idea! Or how about a photo of the MESS that the confetti made in our family room. Geez - help me! I have got to think of these things.
