~Something Meaningful~
i'm just about to finish reading this book...
and was totally taken aback when i read the last page..
kinda reminded me of the "10 Promises to my Dog",
I read and re-read many times,
and tot that it will be nice to share
these very meaning thoughts..

a direct quote from the book
: which of cos allows us to interchange accordingly..
for us, it will be guiding our little precious in the faith that we believe in & to remember that
the ultimate purpose in life..is to be happy c",)
*
"A CHILD'S TEN COMMANDMENTS TO PARENT"
1) My hands are small; please don't expect perfection whenever I make a bed,
draw a picture, or throw a ball.
My legs are short; please slow down so I can keep up with you.
~
2) My eyes have not seen the world as yours have;
please let me explore safely; don't restrict me unnecessarily.
~
3)Housework will always be there. I'm only little for such a short time
- please take time to explain things to me about
this wonderful world & do so willingly.
~
4) My feelings are tender; please be sensitive to my needs;
don't nag me all day long
(You wouldn't want to be nagged for your inquisitiveness)
Treat me as you would like to be treated.
~
5) I am a special gift from God; please treasure me as God intended you to do,
holding me accountable for my actions , giving me guidelines to live by,
and disciplining me in a loving manner.
~
6) I need your encouragement, but not your praise, to grow.
Please go easy on the criticism; remember,
you can criticize the things I do without criticizing me.
~
7) Please give me the freedom to make decisions concerning myself.
Permit me to fail, so I can learn from mistakes.
~
8) Please don't do things over for me.
Somehow that makes me feel that my efforts didn't quite
measure up to your expectations.
I know it's hard, but please don't compare me with my brother or sister.
~
9) Please don't be afraid to leave for a weekend together.
Kids need vacations from parents, just as parents need vacations from kids.
Besides, it's a great way to show kids that your marriage is special.
~
10) Please take me to Sunday school and church regularly,
setting a good example for me to follow.
I enjoy learning more about God.

:::The big "3"::::
nooo..it's not MY AGE..but our little precious.. yesh..he will be in his 30th Week tomolo...(and my colleagues have warned me..."after the 30th week..time passes SUPER DUPER fast woah..and i will start ballooning..and ballooning...ahhhhhhhhhhh"

Week 30: Goodbye monkey baby, hello roly poly!
The light is visible at the end of the tunnel! Your oversized self and amazing growing baby have finally reached the single digits (in terms of weeks till birth)! The fine lanugo hair that has been growing all over their little monkey-like body is going to start falling off this week in preparation for the big day. But don’t be shocked if they’re hairier than you’d anticipated, some babies keep their lanugo until after birth. Still, it’s not any cause to be concerned as it will fall off eventually. No surprises here: your little porker is getting even cuter with increasingly pudgy arms and legs this week thanks to the ever-growing layers of subcutaneous fat.
In terms of numbers, your baby should be weighing in at around 3 pounds 12 ounces (or more!) and be nearly 16 inches long.
And how's mom doing? As for the ongoing joys of being in your third trimester: your not-so-fun symptoms are just intensifying this week, so it might not hurt to slow down a bit and focus on yourself. If you’re feeling extra fatigued, you’ve probably joined the sleeping shouldn’t be this tough when I’m this tired club, especially if you’re experiencing a lot of back pain and general discomfort. If you’ve been pushing the exercise thing, then this is the time perhaps to cut down on the physical activities and focus more on getting proper sleep (if this means buying a pregnancy pillow, then do it!). Oh and all that moodiness? Just go with the flow emotionally. This doesn't mean letting the hormones win and becoming a complete psychotic.
Instead, feel the feelings, but know that the drama you’re feeling is largely a result of increased adrenaline thanks indirectly to hormonal swings—not because things really are that dramatic and merit adult temper tantrums. The clincher symptom for this week: it’s highly likely your libido has gone on sabbatical. This, as far as we’re concerned, is perfectly natural in your condition.

jus back from the gynae's clinic..and we are happy to know that our little precious is doing well and has grown abt 600g to 1.45kg (since we last saw him..i.e 4 weeks ago) !!
wow wow wow!! and his head is facing downwards now...no wonder i've been feeling lotsa his kicks around the 'top of my tummy'..
Dr Adrain was asking how i was feeling.. i replied "NERVOUS"...he then assured that there is nothing to worry/be nervous about delivering the baby..& warned that it only gets more nervous when it comes to taking care of the baby..and oso that the 1st month will be a very tiring month for me...(yesh...reality is slowly settling in....scared scared...)
have oso confirmed that I will be delivering @ TMC (thus the clinic assistant has made the arrangement for me..so need to look out for the hospital letter in the letterbox)...mmm..i guess..for now, its more about eating well..resting well ..& anticipating the next visit..which is in 3 weeks time c",)
and here's our tots of our little precious today :

~1st Antenatal Class~
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Venue : @ AMK Hub
Time : 4.30pm - 6.30pm

Topic : Physical & Mental Preparation
By : Mrs Wong B B ( Senior Parentcraft/Lactation Consultant @ TMC)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
yippee..its our 1st class today ! i'm soo looking fwd (booked for the class when i was about wk 21..) and have heard so much about Mrs Wong (even my colleagues who are delivering in other hospital have signed up for her class!) i can't wait....
Both me & dar have to attend the class together ( and i think that that's truly impt..really provided him with a better insight of this whole pregnancy process / his role / and to better prep him up for his new role!)
Lotsa stuff were shared during the the lesson.. from coping with pregnancy discomfort , how to get out from bed properly, antenatal exercise to strengthen your back/increase lung expansion etc.and also exercises that are beneficial to prevent neckache and back-ache, as well as legs cramp, firm and tone the breast etc etc
In addition, she shared with us on the nutrition b4 & after delivery & sending us into laughters with the myths & traditions (e.g. in olden days, ppl are not supposed to wash their hair after delivery..is cos there is no such thing as hair-dryer!!! and many other examples, which 'send' us nodding our heads away in agreement..)
Mrs Wong is truly experienced & humourous..though her class only ended @ 7pm (yesh..extended by 1/2 hour) but there was never a dull moment..there're soo many things to learn (but my fingers couldn't keep up with all the jotting down of the notes..) in the end, we left the class smiling..knowing that we have made the right decision to sign up for the class (and would urged all 1st time parents-to-be to do the same too !!) and here's the highlight of the whole class..
* Wearing the 'Vest'
Mrs Wong made all the hubbies wear this vest (which 'depicts' a pregnant woman..yesh..i'm talking about breasts and a big tummy) and they have to try standing up and sitting down with the vest on..really funny !! you can see some of the daddy-to-be trying hard to stand up..balance themselves etc..guess now the hubbies know that INDEED his wife's body is changing and is not 'agile' as before..so pls be more patient with us.. (in fact, after the class, dar looked @ me..& said "辛苦你了, realli wasn't easy with the vest on, now i know..")
* Talking to your Unborn Child*
- "Cup" your hands & gently touch your tummy (following the motion of Right-Left-Up-Down)
- "Butterfly" stroke ( like what we used to do when we were young to create the butterfly shadow..slowly wriggle the fingers on the tummy.. for MTB, we can do it in the downward motion i.e. towards our belly-button and for our DH, can do both upward & downward motion
- "An-Tai" ( stroke upwards, just like how we apply our massage cream)
** Remember..NEVER NEVER to rub in circular motion cos it will lead to premature labour !!!
* "Doula" Massage *
our husband is the 'doula' / cheerleader & supporter in the labour ward.. (i just learnt what is a 'doula' - its basically non-medical assistant who provides various forms of non-medical support ..and in TMC, they charge about $1,000 to engage a doula!! gosh..i think my dar can do it..hoping he dun faint in the labour ward..oppss)
there are 5 steps to the massage (sitting crossed-legged) :
(1) INDIAN MILKING
~ using the palm to stroke from shoulder to the wrist and vice versa
(2) SWEDISH MILIKING
~ using the palm to stroke from the underarm to wrist and vice versa
(3) ROLLING PIN
~ using both the palms to rub the arms from shoulder to wrist and vice versa (just like a rolling-pin)
(4) INDIAN TWIST
~ "as if wringing the clothe' , from shoulder to wrist and vice versa
(5) FINGERS MASSAGE
~ open & close the fingers ( 5 times) --> DH to 'twiggle' each fingers & pull gently --> 'flat pinch' on each fingers --> side pinch on each fingers --> massage the wrist
Lastly.. Breathe in and out......
~ That's all for today.. we are looking fwd to our next class and before i end this post..here's our goodies from the class.... *yawns & nitez*

Week 29: To pee or not to pee....
Fetal development in pregnancy week 29:
If you’ve been feeling butterflies moving around in your belly, it’s not just your run-of-the-mill pre-birth performance anxiety.
No, it’s your amazing baby with a case of the hiccups (yesh, i've been feeling that !! i din know it's my little precious having hiccups !! ) : a fairly common occurrence at this point resulting from practicing breathing for their big birthday.
In addition, to getting a round of butterfly-like hiccups, your little swimmer has arduously managed to accumulate enough baby fat to account for nearly 3.5% of their overall body weight. Yeah, compared to we adults, it’s not a lot, but when they’re little like that—it’s certainly a healthy (and warming) accomplishment in its way.
Another fantastic accomplishment: your baby's spleen is now in charge of hematopoiesis—the 10 dollar name for the process involved in building up certain important blood components.
Another fantastic-accomplishment: your little monkey has been peeing into their amniotic sac for a little while now (this is why potty training takes a while) and if you didn’t know, actually swallows it along with the rest of the amniotic fluid. Although the concept is nasty, their urine is sterile and as part of the amniotic fluid base, is replaced several times throughout the day. So if you didn’t know before, now you can tell people, that yes, you drank your own urine—you were still in the womb, but nonetheless, you’ve been there.
For the mom:
Be sure you keep drinking plenty of water especially during the third trimester, when hemorrhoids often creep up.
Take some time during your last trimester to pamper yourself if you can.
One of my favorite things to do included getting a pedicure, so I knew if nothing else my feet would look good during delivery!

Head or Tail ??

if only
life decisions can be as easy as tossing a coin..
when your most IDEAL solution cannot be 'fulfilled',
is the next one considered as a
'COMPROMISE' / 'the NEXT BEST"..
when doors and doors of 'options'
open up for you...
which one will you walk thru?
while trying to weigh the Pros & Cons...
do you just go with the one with the most Pros ??
or the one with the most ideal / practical Pros ??
once decided..do you set the RULES ?
what if the "rules" are not conformed to ?
what will you do ??
if only...
i can toss a coin...
head or tail ?

~Length Vs Width~
jus back from my weekly swim..and gosh..my stamina is "deteriorating"..started off with about 5-6 laps (when i was around week 20)..slowly reducing to 4-5 laps..etc..and today..i realised that i dun have enuff breath to swim 1 lap anymore !! *panting panting*..
so now, i'm swimming the width..(catch some breath 1st..before continuing..) + doing some gentle kicking / aqua-exercise @ the side of the pool..
Realised that i'm having fun jus holding onto dar's hands & 'gliding' in the water..love the feeling of the ripples on my tummy..
hope to continue with our weekly swimming till the time i'm in my week 32 / 34 c",)
for now...i'm happy..simply walking in the pool / floating around c",)..while waiting for dar to do his laps..

~Washing/Packing/Delivery ~
seem like alot had been done this morning !!!
while waiting for the IKEA delivery guys..noticed that its a sunny morning..and what better way to start hand-washing our little precious little clothings !!

aiyo..soo tiny..soo adorable..
i love to see little babies dressed in white..so pure & innocent c",)
& of cos, boys being boys..how can i not dress him in BLUE as well ..hee..
these should be able to 'last' him for the initial month..for the rest of the clothings..i guess 'they' will be under the next 'batch' of washing (mmm..dunno when..)
hope that the weather will be jus as nice tomolo / next week ..so that i can start washing the nappies / towels & bedding set..&..mmm..seem like i'm 'on target' for my washing schedule *big grin*
and once all the clothes are dried..will pack them into this..
yesh..we made space & tot this will be ideal for all our little precious's stuff (no need to buy another cupboard..hee)

the IKEA delivery guys came about noon..and very quickly fix this up..and here's presenting the Sofa Bed for our confinement lady (+ some storage boxes which we bot) !! luckily it fits nicely into our spare room c",)

and since we are @ the topic of delivery...our bench was finally delivered last week..now Dar doesn't have to sit on the floor to wear his shoes...

guess...that kinda sum up all the BULK purchases...hopefully it ends here (@ least for this year..) we dare not do a tabulation of how much we have spent over these 1-2 months..oppss..hee..

~His 1st Pillow ~
mmm..i remembered having a "臭臭"..and refused to get rid of it for the longest time..its a little pillow which 'accompanied' me thru many many years, providing me comfort & security..c",)

& now..i wan our little precious to have his very own "comfort pillow"...and what can be better than a BeanSprout Pillow !
::Benefits of Bean Sprout Pillow::
"Babies are proned to be frighted by sudden movements & noises caused by the surrounding. Therefore this pillow is laid on their chests to give the babies a sense of security, as they will feel that they are being cuddled in their mummy's arms or even in the womb. This pillow also acts as cushioning from loud noises and movements."
Initial idea was to purchase it...luckily, my cousin gave 1 to me..which was painstakingly made by her dad & sis (when her little one was born)..and they have 'sunned' more than enuff bean sprout kernels to make 1 more...c",)

thank you !!
thus, all that Dar & I needed to do to make it more special was to order a personalised pillow-case c",)
"our little precious, hope that this little pillow brings you sweet dreams every night..Zzzzz"

~Final Final~
i've got mail again!!
i promise that this is the last batch that i have bot from a spree (till my little precious is born..hee)

here's me & the parcel... soo excited....
this time, its from babymall , they have soo many stuffs..and its driving me crazy!!

dunno why...but i din realise that the purchases this time round are all in BLUE !!! i'm soo intrigued by the "transportation" series..that i guess..i was simply 'clicking' away the whole range...but no regrets !! ain't they adorable??
Week 28: Why, you look positively bovine!

Fetal development in pregnancy week 28:
"You know how you’ve been feeling a bit like a barn with legs?
Well, that feeling won’t subside before… well, you know, when you finally give birth.
For the time being, you’ve got yourself a baby in the business of collecting fat and lots of it! In spite of the dubious joys of being a human-barn, this baby fat business is very serious and you’ve got to put up with it because it’s going to keep your little porker warm and healthy after birth.
Other good stuff from inside: their eyes are doing lots of blinking this week because they’re now able to respond to light and dark.
Also, their industrious little bone marrow is now a major construction site for developing red blood cells, while their super-cute adrenal glands are actually producing androgen and estrogen—which will stimulate your hormones to begin milk production.
Can you say, “Moo?”
=======================================================
woohoo...i've finally reached the 3rd trimester !!
which means i have only about 12 more weeks to go...
how time flies...i must say that this pregnancy has been pretty enjoyable..i'm loving every sec of it !
Thanks to my little precious for being a good boy..allowing me to still continue with my daily activities..& of cos..special mention to my dearest dar..for being there always..be it the simple task of getting me a drink to massaging my leg when i've cramps..being my swimming buddy to my 'best friend'..i love it when you stroke my hair, peck me, hug me..makes me feel that all these changes that i'm experiencing is worth it...

know that you are looking forward to your new role..just as how excited i am to be the mother of our child...in just about 12 weeks..... our lives is about to change......c",)

hOuSe WoRk no more....
Jus recently, Dar decided that we should engage a part-time helper to clean up our place over the weekend...i was kinda resentful initially... its like, "its our own place.. we can cope...we have always split up our chores..and its kinda fun cleaning up our own place..blah blah blah..."
but of cos... as fatigue starts "getting into me"..and Dar busy with his other commitments..we find our clothes (for ironing) starting to pile and pile (to such an extent that we have to rummage thru the pile in the early morning to look for our work clothes..) ; it looks kinda "hazy" outside (cos its been a while since our windows are cleaned !! ) etc etc....
finally, when the lady came...i took out all the clothes for ironing (and i think she was in SHOCK !!) oppsss.. of cos, not wanting to scare her away, told her that Dar's shirts are the main priority....(she looked abit more relieved...)..and she went on to wash the toilets....clean the furniture..etc etc...
it does feel abit wierd watching TV while someone is cleaning the house
(hee..i'm a wierdo ya.. cos grew up w/o maid, so mummy has trained me to do housework..felt kinda "kao-wei" to be sitting and not doing anything..wahhhh)
Then again, I guess its easy to get used to NOT doing anything....seeing our windows cleaned, clean & sparkling toilets, crisp shirts ..blah blah... mmm..this is prob the BEST decision that dar has ever made.. hahahah..=)
for me.. i'm putting my legs up..watching my fav TV serial / catching up on my reading..nice c",)
Housework..?? wad's that ??? heeee...

~Baby Name Advisor Results ~

Ashton
The name Ashton induces a sense of freedom and adventure,
risks and rewards, gambling and daring acts of courage.
The name has passion and excitement.
One senses that Ashton can do anything,
is extremely capable, and a true survivor.
It is also highly flexible, can adapt to new circumstances quickly,
and has excellent reflexes; often,
important decisions are made in seconds,
seemingly impulsively even.
But due to sharp intuition and even sharper intelligence,
those decisions are almost always right on the money.
Youthful, dynamic and energetic,
this name draws people who want things to be "different,"
and don't like the tried and proven.
Social, outgoing, something skirting the acceptable -
or even pushing the envelope of what is legal.
Ashton's most positive characteristics:
Productive, dynamic, adaptable.
Good at promoting self.
Ashton's most negative characteristics:
Can be unorganized, scattered. Lacks direction.
Needs maturity and discipline.

~Daddy's Gift~
Dar has always been pretty supportive
of my purchases,
as long as i say its for
'our little precious'..
heee.

and today he's SUPER enthusiastic
when we passed by this
little push-cart @ Raffles Exchange
which sells adorable bb shoes & socks...
instantly, he took these 2 and paid for them !
that's not all..
he started 'fiddling' with the rest of the shoes,
placing his fingers into the ohh-so0-adorable shoes,
and started to 'mimic' them walking..
Looking gleefully @ me..
"Soo Adorable ya!"
i smiled..
he looked soo excited !!
i was a little amused...
then suddenly, he looked up,
and saw those lovely pink shoes w flowers..
and looked @ me..
"after ton-ton is born,
shall we try for a 妹妹
so that he has company..
& we can buy those pretty shoes !!"
i stared at him
(wide-eyed)
"that's nice..
but let me get thru this first ya..."

::Yet..another fruitful day!!::
being on leave CAN be sooo addictive...i reckon that since i've about 12.5 days of leave left..and will oni be back in office next Jan 09 (after my maternity)..i might as well clear 0.5 or 1 day each week..simply to rest & relax (and of cos..a shorter week @ work..opppsss)
well..main reason for takin 1/2 day today is cos Dar is having his IPPT..hoping to give him some moral support..(better pass..or else he has to go back for Remedial Training (RT) 3X a week!!!)

soo..while waiting for him to complete his test at Bedok Camp, i headed to Eastwood Centre to enjoy my afternoon tea at Renaldo's Apple Strudel & Pastries.
~me & my afternoon tea c",)~
(there is no better way..to enjoy a hot choc..lusciously layered Apple Strudel..yummilicious eclair..and reading a book on a thurs afternoon..wahhh....in the end..i found myself 'eavesdropping' on 2 tai-tais' conversation..complaining abt their hubbies infidelity..though i was holding my book..i found myself stuck on the same page..while my ears 'stretchin' out to listen...opppppssss.....)

finally...after 2 hours...Dar called..and ....
Yesh!!
he passed (with Silver) sooo ecstatic !!!
*hip hip hooray*

proceed to Ikea to celebrate Dar's little 'victory'..

my all-time fav - Swedish Meatballs !
(can see that fatigue is starting to show on my face!!)

& since we are there..might as well finish up some of our "to-do" list...
bot a sofa bed (for the confinement lady) + storage crates for our little precious stuff !!
(delivery will be next sat...and we can start preparing his little nursery!!)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess we are about 90% done with all the bb prep-
the remaining 10% being :
* 0.5% -- misc stuff
(e.g. bb wipes, nappy rash cream etc )
* 0.5% -- hospital bag
(gg to start soon..jus bot my button-down PJs from the MOTHERCARE sale!!)
* 1 % -- Laundry for bb's stuff
(target to complete b4 the lunar 7th month..which is before 1st Aug !!!)
* 8 % -- my State of Mind !!!
(i'm 'entering' my 3rd trimester in a few days time...soo excited yet soo nervous... !!!)
Jus as much as my bb prep is 'on schedule' ..and everything is under control..but when the labor pain comes..when the bb cries...can i still be in control ?? have to learn to relax............

~Parenting w Confidence~
attended this talk today..its a 6 sessions course..organised by my company..2 hours each on every wed (with lunch included..hee)..

i was the only MTB..the rest are daddies and mummies with kids ranging from aged 0-5...
what can i say... totally insightful & interesting !!
Before the start of the course, they made us write down what is our expectation/objective of coming to the course...i simply wrote
" To better prepare me & my hubby for our new arrival =)"
in the course of sharing, some parents said "to have sanity @ home !"

it kinda perk me up a little...pondering..yah...we always complain of our parents..but are we able to be the perfect parents for our child ? what makes a perfect parent ? can we control our child ? can i be a perfect parent? How would i want my child to remember me ?

perhaps i am thinking too far ahead...but you never know.. time passes sooo quickly...
but i know that just as there is no Perfect Wife / Perfect Husband / Perfect Child / Perfect Parents...its realli all about loving and accepting the imperfect person in the most perfect way ....
am looking forward to more sessions as we learn to discover more of ourselves..self reflection and how to bring out our best to nurture the next generation.. soo many things to learn....
::& here are
my 2 new purchases today !::
~totally in the seeking mood now..craving for more information..and i hope these books can better prepare me for my new role =)

~PIG-OUT~
well...since preggie, i've not had a single moment of craving..in fact, its the ppl around me who seemed to have endless cravings..hee..then again, it makes things easier for me, cos i dun have to crack my brain..just follow suit c",)
and today..Dar just popped an idea " let's go to East Coast Lagoon for dinner..its been a while..."
"Sure !"..i answered..and here's what we had !
(honestly, i have no idea how i managed to eat soo much. recently, i cannot even finish half the bowl of my normal portion of rice..more of eating the dishes..oh boy..i was soo bloated after all these dishes..But..its yummy!!)

a nice long stroll along beach..enjoying the breeze..getting our food digested..when Dar suggested.."Desserts??" and soo....we headed down to the recently-featured durian place...
and had this!! it costs $20 per kg..and when we said we oni wanted 1..the guy picked a 2kg plus durian..so..our dessert cost us $40...kinda steep..BUT...Shiok !!!!

we certainly took a while to get to sleep...tossing and turning...i was smiling thru-out..realli fun to travel back to the east to savour all the yummies..felt like 'dating' all over again..heee.. *opppss*
