It's Been a V ERY long time!
Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since I last blogged. It's been a bit crazy of month of July and what's left of August!!
The 4th of July came and went! That seems like such a long time ago. It's been hot and dry! Not very many good storms, but the one storm we did get, wrecked some havic on our backyard! One of our neighbors palm trees made a a HUGE mess of our backyard. Just lots of wind but not a lot of rain.

I did get to go to Oregon the last week in July which was fun. Learning to travel with the oxygen proved to be bit of a challenge for me. I have filed complaints with Delta who made it near impossible and an a huge inconvience and charged me extra just to take the approved medical equipment on board. I filed the complaint and they are refunding me the money. They tried to send a voucher but what good is that?! I won't be flying Delta again to say the least. But the Oregon experience with the family was a good one!
New little baby Max is adorable and growing fast! It was fun to spend time with Mom and Mike and Jen and the kids. We learned how to clam which is really dirty fun!But the kids LOVED it! As Liam stated - He wishes he could live next the beach so he could do it every day! (they live within walking distance to the beach! LOL!)Everyday with Liam is the best day he's ever had! What a great outlook on things!

Bilkos new shave! I love it when he gets his new hair cut! He's like a puppy again too, he feels good!

It's nice because we're just startin to have our heat wave.
We had a great 4th of July! We had the family over, we decided to start out tradition and do our own breakfast! I made scones/ or elephant ears. Like you get at the fair. My mom used to make them when we were kids. They are soo good! The recipe I used was awsome! If I can find it again I'll post it. They were perfect with melted butter, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, chocolate sauce and powdered sugar! They were light and fluffy and crisp in the right places! That's definately going to be a tradition.

We did have some excitement at the end of the month with Carls work. Most of you know that Carl works at the Supreme Court. The State of Arizona has had a budget crisis for the last year. They had until the 30th at midnight to pass the new budget or they risk going into government shutdown. Well it didn't pass. However, Carl being in the Supreme Court was required to still be in the office whether it passed or not. The only fear was whether or not he would get paid. But it all has worked out. The budget still has not passed. They were on emergency funding and it's worked out. I have NOT been impressed with local representatives and the Governor. They have been playing dirty politics. It's been very infuriating as well as eye opening.

Otherwise it's been pretty slow! Still waiting to hear about the appeal process from disability. They've sent more forms and more things I've had to fax over to them. I now have a case worker which is nice for when I have questions. I hope we'll hear something in the next few weeks. Keep your fingers crossed

I start new testing on the 28th of July with the new cardiologist and looking forward to it!

Summer/Birthdays/Baths
We celebrated the first day of Summer along with Fathers Day. It was also Gabe's 10th birthday. As most of you know he is the 10yr old with Hypo-Left heart. It's amazing that he's made it to 10 and he's doing tremendously well! They just changed his pace maker this past March.
We finally got Maggie in the Bath!
She protested and was not necessarly happy but it was mandatory! She was okay with being wet but it just was the process she was REALLY nervous about. She's the aguaphobia dog. We haven't been able to get her in the pool or anywhere near a hose. So we got her in the bathroom with lots of treats and bones. We didn't have any trouble getting her wet and soapy, it was getting her rinsed that was more difficult. We took the hose from the shower and didn't make her get in the tub. We soaked the bathroom floor but it worked! And she didn't freak out as much. She doesn't like being in enclosed spaces, I think because she was out in a yard for so long.
We've had more birthdays from Liz, to Carl, Shelby and Britton. Carl's mom will celebrate her's at the end of the month. Lots of fun! I'm ready for Summer. Lots of changes.

A Months' Worth
WoW! Oh I've been bad at keeping up with this thing! I mostly have my stuff on face book now.

Things are going well. It's been quite and adjustment being home all the time and finding things to keep myself busy. I feel like I still need to contribute to the house so I work on a project every day.

I was denied Disability the first time but from what I understand that's common. Most people do. But it's quite the grueling process.I think they try to weed out the people that don't really need it. It's in the appeal process now, so we'll see what happens. I am hoping I don't need to go the attorney route! We'll keep our fingers crossed!

On the good front, I am seeing a new Congential Cardiologist! I have to see him at the Childrens Hospital in Phoenix! The insurance won't let me see him at the Mayo clinic. So we are looking at switching insurances. We met with Dr Cohen today and so far are VERY impressed. He asked all the right questions. He's old school, which I think in these cases is better. He understands the history! I hope I don't have to have a heart cath again but I don't know what he's going to want to do again with his doctors. He really wants to see me at Mayo because he's got a team of dr's that does everthing. So we'll see, he's going to call me on Tuesday. He wanted a chance to read over my records and there's a lot!

So that's the scoop, nothing much else exciting to report. I'll try and post more on here, but I keep on facebook a lot more frequent.

The End of Long Week

Well almost it's only wed, but I feel like last week has sorta run into this week. Carl and I have both been really ill. Carl got a nasty case of the regular flu. It wasn't the swine flu but he was so sick the first two days he didn't get out of bed except to throw up or something else. He had the horrible cough. The kinda where ya cough so hard not only do you loose control of everything or you feel like you have whipelash from coughing so hard! Not fun. He ran a low grade fever. He started feeling better and went back to work for a few days. Then it was mine turn. I had it just as bad except I spiked a fever of a 102 for a bout a day and half. We went to insta care and ended up being severe bronchitis and a double ear infection. The fever started after I went to insta care - go figure! I don't get sick sick like that. I usually have all the other weird stuff going with my heart to make up for it. I was down in bed also. I feel better today than I have felt in a LONG time. The 02 also helped a lot as far as being able to catch my breath and keep a little cool. The 102 fever was NOT so fun.

Anyway - its warming up we hit our first day of 100 degree temps. I think we can officially welcome Summer!! We're trying to get the pool in shape. It should be warm enough to swim by the weekend!! Yeah! I am really looking forward to the Summer!

We've had very successful weekends, with vaccination station and it's really taking off we are VERY optimistic about that! Other than that not much else is happening.

I'm taking all my medical records to the new Dr tomorrow. I'm excited about that!
We're still waiting on approval from DES (unemployment who is 6-8wks behind) and Disability which seems to be moving faster than unemployment! We're keeping our fingers crossed!
