since i'm stuck at home in a family imposed quarantine , i thought i might as well update . i snuck out yesterday for a quick reunion with the girls and zouk isn't quite as fun as i remembered . . or maybe because the whole gang wasn't really together .

a sunday can't get any lazier than a whole day spent eating . first up there was the surprise impromptu breakfast picnic on the floor of 3201 , and then a hardcore steamboat with claire's stone electric thingamajig . my favourites were the cheese baguette with butter + the thai fishcake/balls .

saying goodbye is really difficult , especially when you've had such a rewarding relationship . the saturday before i left melbourne i journeyed to chapel street with a heavy heart . sarah had to drop by american apparel to pick up something for a fellow obsessed AA fan and i was going to say goodbye to a friend .

i know that american apparel is ridiculously overpriced but i'm completely sold on their basics ( nevermind that their skirts have an unfinished hem and my mother insists that it's ludacris to pay so much for something that isn't even completed ) .

it's happening doods . i received the boxes to ship my entire melbourne life home on wednesday . the whole afternoon was spent trying to shove things into the box when it finally hit me : i'm leaving ; for good . no more green's muffins , no more little cupcakes , no more thrifting at savers on sydney road , no more sunday mornings at camberwell , no more breakfast at mart 130 , no more so many things !

i started to cry and it made me realise , as i arranged and re-arranged things , that as much as i've always talked about hating it here , i don't really hate it . having my family over showed me that melbourne is so damm great , and if i'd had my family here for my entire university stint , life would've been perfect . but i didn't ; and if i had the choice , i probably wouldn't change a thing either .

the fights and arguments i've had have made those relationships stronger . the loneliness i've experienced makes me treasure those around me much more . the feeble attempts at self budgeting have made me realise the value of money ( eventually i will learn to control myself better ; i hope ) . this whole stint in melbourne has also shown me that there really is no place like home .

i'm very happy to be returning to singapore ; to my family , to my friends and to the carrot cake uncle at chomp chomp ( please please please still be there ) . after so many years of feeling like a lost and wandering soul , melbourne has brought everything into perspective and it really is good to be heading home .

this post will be quick ; i'm on my way out to meet sarah + claire to head over to chapel street for a little stroll . i've got about 200 odd pictures of linette's surprise and birthday luncheon to get through . i promise that i'll get through them in due time . . but until then , here are a couple of shots .


i don't usually go for pretty when i choose my clothes , but i just fell in love with the neckline of this dress and i couldn't say no ! sorry for my wonky face . . it's hard to give an expression when the sun is so bright .

in my head : walking on a dream - the empire sun

the following could be a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare ( borrowing from the uber talented beyonce ) . first up , post dinner at stalactites , we ventured to brunetti's at lygon . as usual , the excitement ended up with practically half of the desserts on our table . we ate ourselves into a sugar rush and then dutifully went home to sleep .

the final morning before my dad + lucas left , i brought them to greasy joe's at st. kilda . i actually gave them the option of awesome fish + chips at clam's versus the heart attack inducing breakfast at greasy joe's , and they picked the latter . dpz went ahead and ordered the triple bypass which is three eggs , a steak , two sausages , three hashbrowns + onions . he finished it while lucas + delicious plowed through their own . my dad was very very happy with his own big brekkie . :)






so that was the bulk of our holiday in pictorial glory . i didn't have much time to grab pictures of my outfit but snuck in shots here and there . i guess i'll spend the weekend trying to fit one and a half years of my life down under into two boxes and a suitcase . : /

the title you probably wouldn't get unless you were in the car with us on the last roadtrip with melvin + jon . after our thoroughly disappointing rush from falls creek to the mount dandenong for tea at miss marples ( we were 15 minutes late and they'd closed ) , we were bright and early the following morning . we had a light brunch of open sandwiches before moving on the the scones . delicious also ordered a mega big sundae that was completely ridiculous in size , but he still managed to finish it .
