We were named the "Fastest Family in Wahpeton" at last night's Park and Rec Family track meet.  Competition was slim.  :)

Baby Malik

Some friends of ours traveled to Texas earlier this month to adopt this little sweetheart, Malik Houston.  He's one month old and I got to snap some pictures of him yesterday.

The North Dakota Council of Teachers of English conference was held last week in Mandan, ND.  I am now president of this organization that has been so important to me over the last 10 years.  I'll also be attending the NCTE annual conference which is in Minneapolis in November.

Our keynote speaker, Penny Kittle.  She's a hero in the world of reading and literacy.

Conference gift bags.  The conference was themed "Booklove" after Penny's book.  I hand stamped over a hundred of these old book pages.  Can you tell which book this page is from?
