French Accent

Saturday we went to visit Uncle Jake and Aunt Katie in Portland. Kami, ever the artist, drew portraits of both Katie and Jake for them as well as other scenes. So then Kami in true Kamism form says, "When I grew up I am going to be a French Artist." Well me be the good mom that I am reminds her that, "I have news for you, you have to be French to be a French Artist." Now, Kami was not going to let her mother hold her back from her dreams. She looks right at me as says, "I don't have to be French because I can do the French accent." With that she places her pointer finger above her top lip, mustache people (I had to ask), and says, "Ho' Ho' Ho'r." Both Jake and I were laughing so hard. The rest of the day Jake would ask Kami to do her accent for him. Okay, I admit I was doing that too. David brought back a drawing from France of him and his dad. Done by none other than a french artist and let me tell you. Kami may be able to achiev

Operation Hair Ties

Image
Someone, and I won't mention any names, Kezri, decided to shoot hair ties into the windowsill of our foyer windows. Now these windows are two stories up and only reachable by a very large ladder. Not my idea of a fun afternoon. So Sunday the girls were doing their usual chant of, "I'm Bored." Well, me being the creative mother that I am decided it was time for them to rescue the hair ties. They start out with a ball tied to several lengths of ribbon. Standing on the second story balcony they threw this at the window hoping to knock the hair ties to the ground. This did not work. Next came the idea to tie several hangers together to create a really long piece of equipment. That did not work either. What worked you ask? A tape measure and patients. Finally an hour and half later all four of the hair ties had been rescued and safely returned to Kezri's wrist, which is her favorite type of bracelet I might add.

Updated pictures

So these are not the best. In fact they were all taken with the iphone so really what can you expect. However, I am posting updated pictures of the girls so no complaints. Kalaree: This looks like her typical facebook photos. She posts those frequently. Kezri: I can't believe how long her hair is getting. Kambrya: Love her boots. I swear she can definitely pull off the cowgirl look. We finished up our canning for this year. I even put teh canner away last night. We finished up making apple butter and applesauce. First year for applesauce. I am really excited to make applesauce cookies with homemade applesauce. For those that are curious. We went with Jonagolds for our applesauce and apple butter and I loved it. It had just the right amount of sweet and tart. I even made an apple crisp with it and it was so good.
