Another interview...

Walla Walla called today and I have an interview with them on May 8th. It is very interesting because they want me to do a 10 minute presentation and gave me a topic. It is not a hard topic at all but still I have not heard of this but it must be their thing. I will start working on it tomorrow and get it put together. So now it is official 3 interview scheduled and 1 more that said that they would like to interview but their position does not close till the 1st. I have to admit I kind of hope that I get something offered here right away from Battle Ground and I can just cancel the other interviews. But I have no intentions of putting all my eggs in one basket. Wish me luck my interview is tomorrow after school. I will post to update on how it goes. It is a phone interview which is not optimal but so much better than another $225 plane ticket. I really wouldn't mind spending that if I knew it was going to be for a job. Well enough rambling from me I am off to bed.

Kid's talents...

This was on a friends blog... Kalaree: Your child has exceptional charisma and physical ability. You may be living with the next great athlete, Tiger Woods or Serena Williams. These children can even grown up to be actors. Don't be surprised if your child is the next Richard Burton or Nicole Kidman. Your adventurous child may even grow up to be the next Sally Ride or Neil Armstrong. Your child loves to move, climb on things, and loves activity and adventure. These children are sometimes labeled hyper active when they don't have outlets for their energy. And the interviews begin...

I was talking to the speech/language pathologist that works here in Medical Lake. We were discussing how I had all these phone calls from districts that wanted to interview but none of them called me back with a definate time. The SLP asked me why I didn't call them back and just suggest a different time. So I made the call to Battle Ground and low and behold I have a phone interview on Wednesday of this week at 4 pm. I am rather nervous about the phone interview but I am sure it will be fine. Then not 5 minutes after I get that scheduled North Thurston called and I have an interview scheduled for 1:15 on the 16th of May with them. I should be scheduling an interview here soon with Grand Coulee. Their position closes on the 1st of May and they emailed saying that they want to interview as soon as it closes. I have two more to mail out that are around the sound area of North Kitsap and Central Kitsap school districts. So much fun. I am at 11 total now. So many districts i

Bad news and big headache

So the budget committee met yesterday and it is oficial that I will not have a position next year. The good thing is that now I can call it a true rif (reducation in force) other than, I was offered a .5 and I left for a full time. It totally stinks but I really am okay with it. I just truly wish I knew what the heck the Lord had in plan rather than this sit and wait thing. The timing couldn't be worse in that I have no clue what will happen with David and I hate this whole feeling out of control thing that is going on. So our family is in for some sort of adventure but who knows what that will look like. (By the way did I mention I am so grateful that we hadn't bought that house?) Now I sit here and wonder what is really in store and when I will be able to truly know what we are to do. I sure wish I had different news but truly understand the decision. Have a great day. Oh and Mom, I will see you Monday night. I hope you are still planning on me coming to visit.

Lost a tooth

Image
Kami lost her first tooth. She was so good. I got home yesterday and it was hanging on by a thread. She climbed right up onto my lap and I pulled it out for her. she freaked a little when she realized she was bleeding but was super happy that she had lost her first tooth. I also got a call from Battle Ground School District and they would like to call me later this week for a phone interview. They are getting it all set up and will call with a day and time that will work. This is the District that does site based school psychs and utilizes them as a counselor also. WOOHOO!!!! I am really excited for that one. I also got some bad news today, not sure what I am going to do with the news yet. My director says that they are in a since not offering me the .5 position next year because they are going to offer it to Adric since his behavior position will be a .5 also. I talked with my union rep and he says that they can't do that. Because they are two positions and they can'

My weekend

Image
As many of you know I went to visit Brandi in Portland this weekend. Well I actually went to go to a job fair and to meet with a Special Education Director in a district down there. The job fair was nice. The district currently has one psych position open but she did share that they will be opening another this year. They asked me some questions regarding manifestations determinations and the referral process. asked about what I have been participating in this year as a psych and so on. Then said that they would call me regarding a possible second interview. So now is the waiting game since I have so many applications out there right now. Brandi and I had a blast. We stayed up late (partly because my plane was delayed two hours) talking. Then I was up and out the door first thing in the morning to get to the job fair. I was so proud of myself I didn't get lost heading to the job fair but coming back I got off too soon, but I did find my way back to Brandi's without even having

I have a need for real

This will be a little vent on my part. Mostly it stems from the fact that most (all in a few months) of my really good friends have moved away. But I need to find some real individuals. You know the ones that sit and eat brownies in their pjs at 9 oclock at night because it was that kind of day. Or the ones that see a child eating dirt and think, man that must be tasty instead of washing the kids mouth out with antibacterial stuff because what might be in the dirt. I need someone that doesn't care if your a size 2 or a size 22 and heaven forbid if my exercise routine consists of lifting the fork to my mouth. Who cares if yoga, cycling, or aerobics is on Monday, Tuesday or sometime in the next century. I have much better things to do then pedal a bike in place or hang myself upside down. I want dessert bars at enrichment and crafts out the ears. I don't care if I already made one I can make another and give it away. I really just want people to realize that life is sho

Busy Job day.

I am meeting with a Special Education Director on Saturday. One in Vancouver. I am really kind of excited that we may be moving there. I feel like I have applied so many places and this is the start of some wonderful stuff for our family. David also heard back from the Red Lion. They offered him the summer internship. WOOHOO!!!!! I am so excited for him. Again, just the start of some really great stuff for our family. Now if only I knew where we would be in 3 months. Oh to finally get settled in would be great.

Red Lion news...

David called the gal today and... She apologized for not calling him sooner but said... That she still hasn't had time to sit down with the general manager and figure this all out and that she would call... TOMORROW!!!!! Yep still no news. Sorry couldn't help myself. I did actually mail out three applications today. One to Walla Walla, one to Grand Coulee and one to North Thurston. I have finished another 3 applications, these are all for the Vancouver area. Battle Ground, Evergreen and Vancouver. I kind of got excited today because I started to look at houses in the Vancouver area and it would be so nice to move into the perfect house right away within the district that I work. Oh the joys of that. We will just have to wait and see what plays out for our family. Only the Lord knows. If we hear on the Red Lion thing I will post tomorrow.

What I did today....

2 applications. One to Grand Coulee and one to Walla Walla. Nothing has opened up around here so maybe this really is way to get me moving along. I called Grand Coulee and she was so excited that I was aplying for the position, they have had not a single applicant, could be good and could be bad. Walla Walla had a full time and a part time available so that went out today. I have Battle Ground completed but I still need a couple more letters of recommendation. It is nice that really all I need to do is tweak the name and address at the top of my letter of interest and the rest can stay the same. We still have not heard from Red Lion, hopefully that will be soon. Keep up in your thoughts and prayers, I truly hate the job hunting thing.

No big surprises.

Image
David was suppose to hear from Red Lion on Friday but didn't, which isn't a big surprise. Hopefully, we will hear something from them on Monday. I did hear from my director that my position will be a half time position next year. So I am applying for many different positions around the state and some are out of state. Hopefully something will come through. My mom had her pace maker replaced this last week and she is doing really well. She was in surgery on Monday and then stayed till Wednesday in the hospital and went home Wednesday morning. She looked really good on Wednesday morning when I saw her. I really hope that this will help and that she starts to feel better. Not much else has been happening around here. Just the usually out and about. I love that the weather has changed and that we can finally get out of the house and walk around, ride bikes, etc. The girls love it too. Kami has made a few friends on the complex. Which has been nice but I forgot how awful those first

My spring break

We had a ton of stuff go on this spring break. Nothing to do with outside since it was snowing, yes the s word, most of the week. If it wasn't snowing it was raining, hailing, or off and on sunny, more off than on. I sewed for most of the week. Finishing up the girls shirts so we could do family pictures on Thursday. We got to the park and got family pictures done and our nice spring pictures have snow in them. I spent bunch of time with Mikaela. We went to Leatherheads, the movie, on Saturday. We took the kids to the mall and even let them make a bear at Build a Bear. I also bought a cricut this weekend. I know I use one to make one board and off I go a buy one. It was so easy making the board and now I can make all those cute boards for all the people that want one (small nominal fees may apply.) Plus I can also downsize my very large collection of templates and cutting systems to the one machine. How wonderful is that? Ebay here I come. So here is any ones chance to make me an o

My wall

Image
I finished my wall today. Mikaela "helped." She held the laser level. I love that I know people in the right places. It is either that or I shop too much at JoAnns. They allowed me to use their crikit to cut out my vinyl letters. Mikaela peeled the backs off and I placed them on the black painted board. Then we hung up all the pictures and the board. I really love the wall. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but it is very nice.

As promised

I finally got new family pictures done. It has been a few years. Mikaela came along and took the ones of the family. I really like them. These are the ones that we are going to put on the wall in our house. I have this whole new look planned. I can't wait to get it done and then to post a picture for everyone to see. I made the girls shirts. They really are super cute, not to toot my own horn. The family: The girls: Kalaree: Kezri: Kambrya: Here are some random other shots that we didn't photo edit. I also got a few pictures of Mikaela and McKay.
