We had a busy, busy day today with an odd schedule since the high school kids got out 2 hours early .  The kids had two sessions of preschool but I didn't get any pictures taken.  Have a Merry Christmas, and we will see you on January 3rd.

Today Kathy read "The Wild Christmas Reindeer".

We painted some ornaments.
We estimated then counted a jar full of chocolate Santas, then we ate them.

I'm not sure what the group with the cotton balls was doing.
Estacia gave each child a jingle bell bracelet and they shook them as they sang Jingle Bells.

We had fun playing outside.

Today Mrs. Barber's students taught the rhyme, "Hey Diddle Diddle".

They played a matching game.

They had pictures that went along with the rhyme and they put them in order as they recited it.

They jumped over a spoon, laughed, and did a relay race with a plastic dish and spoon.

They did some other activities while Jamie and I were putting the nappers to bed.

I just realized that I forgot to take any pictures today.  I will try to do better tomorrow.

We finally opened our Christmas presents today!
These are photos of the aftermath.

Mrs. Barber's class taught the rhyme, "Baa Baa Black Sheep".
They retold the rhyme with props.
I'm not sure what this group was doing.
They tried to find pictures on the wall while blindfolded.

They glued cotton balls on their sheep pictures.

Mrs. Barber's students taught the song, "Five Little Ducks".

They played a duck matching game.

They learned some facts about ducks.

They played "Duck, Duck, Goose!"

They used feathers to paint pictures.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

On Tuesday we painted some wooden Christmas tree cut outs.
We decorated some paper ornaments.
We tasted and smelled different kinds of Christmas things.

Wednesday I was home sick, so your guess is as good as mine!

Thursday Mrs. Barber's students were completely disinterested and so were the kids.  Consequentially, the kids ran wild and the students sat around and stared at them.
They were supposed to sort through a bunch of shoes and find the pairs.

And play a matching game.

I have no idea what was supposed to be happening here, and when I asked the girls they just gave me blank stares.  Hopefully tomorrows activities will be better!

Monday, December 6, 2010

Today Mrs Barber's students taught "The Ants Go Marching".

They took turns leading the march as they sang the song.

They used celery, peanut butter and raisins to make ants on a log.

They sorted and counted fruit snacks.

They frosted sugar cookies for snack.

Friday, December 3, 2010

I can't remember what nursery rhyme  Mrs. Barber's class taught on Thursday, but it had something to do with pigs!

They tasted ham on crackers.

They looked at a poster with different kinds of pigs on it and they retold a pig story.

I'm not sure what this group was doing.

They used balloons to make pig faces.

Bode was pretending to be dead and the girls were dragging him around.

Kathy cut out some Christmas trees for the kids to decorate, but the boys had other ideas.

They used the Christmas trees and streamers to turn themselves into Ninja Turtles!

On Friday Mrs. Barbers students taught the children "Peas Porridge Hot".

They sorted different kinds of dried beans.

They played a matching game.

They practiced the nursery rhyme with the hand motions.

They wrapped toys to put under the Christmas tree.
