Ship Tour

A few weeks ago we finally went on a proper tour of our ship. We got to go to the bridge and learn about how everything works but mostly we just pretended like we were the officers in charge of everything.

This is one of the officers in charge of driving the ship

Doug is doing some navigation

The officers pretty much let us do whatever we wanted up here as long as we didn't really touch anything.

Someone gave this stuffed moose to the captain so they stuck up on the bridge. He's on watch 24/7

The view from the bridge

We also took a tour of the kitchen and met the executive chef

After the tour we had lunch with the captain and he even sat at our table with the chief officer. We felt really cool.

Thanksgiving in Guatemala

We spent Thanksgiving this year playing soccer (well Doug played and I watched) in Guatemala. Although we would have preferred to have been in Utah it was something we will always remember.

We are so thankful for each other and for all of our many blessings. Spending Thanksgiving in a country where people really don't have much makes us realize how lucky we are. We miss our friends and family every day but we're grateful for the experiences we are having right now.

Sea Days

We thought it would be fun to show you guys what we do when we're at sea. We used to hate sea days but now we look forward to them because it's kind of like having a day off. Sometimes we participate in activities they have around the ship.

Here the boys are helping with golf chipping. They hold up the life preservers and people try to hit their gold ball into the center. It's really just an excuse for them to get in the pool on sea days.

Since being in the Caribbean this is something we almost always do on sea days...lay out! We have to do it on the top deck where there's no pool because the pools get really crowded. There's always a nice breeze up there and sometimes the wind is so strong we get a little mist from the ocean.

This is all it well let me upload for now. I will try to upload more pictures later.
